Apr 16, 2019The game is simply beautiful. "What remains of Edith Finch" shows us that video games truly are an art. It's hard to tell something about it without spoiling anything, so just trust me and play it. Game isn't long and isn't expensive so it's worth to try. That kind of storytelling I have never seen in any other game. Visuals are also great and soundtrack has a right tone. I totally recommend it.
-
Apr 10, 2019Its not a bad game. It is focus in the story of this family and the atmosphere of the house, This atmosphere is very important in a walking simulator. So, showing a house with a collection of repeated books without a justification in the history of the family, is ridiculous and breaks the good atmosphere that the game could at first offer.
-
Apr 6, 2019The environment is an absolute joy to explore as Edith Finch explores her family's house to uncover their stories of unluck. Absolutely stunning story telling. I absolutely loved my playthrough.

Feb 25, 2019This is a perfect example of a game that is primarily exploration/story-based that allows for enough creative interactivity to keep the story going. If more so-called "walking simulators" took notes from What Remains of Edith Finch, the genre would be better-viewed on the whole.
-
Feb 18, 2019Excellent story, simple but at the same time awesome. A myst have game if you like narrative games, more than shooting everywhere.
Play calm with plenty of time, do not hurry.
Enjoy the story. -
Feb 15, 2019Despite only taking two hours to complete, your morbid curiosity will compel you to learn how each member of the cursed Finch family met their untimely demise. Giant Sparrow went to great efforts in making this walking simulator stand out from the competition thanks to creative ways of telling the story as well as a beautiful house to explore.
-
Feb 15, 2019Very good but slightly short game that explores a very old house with some very interesting mysteries.

Jan 21, 20191 point for design and music.
1 point for good stories of family members.
I liked this game until I end it. There is no plot. There is no answers for the questions. There is no main idea. Postmodern "art" as it is. Very big disappointment. -
Jan 20, 2019When a game makes you smile or sad theres something good about it, What remains of edith finch is an interactive story that takes you through the tragic history about a family. is really well written if you dont enjoy good stories go and play COD, this is about to sit ,watch, hear and enjoy

Jan 12, 2019Un juego increible que en todo momento te mantiene en suspenso, con cada una de las historias que vas encontrando, con un final perfecto.
El unico pero que podria tener es que es un juego demasiado corto aunque la trama es sumamente envolvente -

Jan 8, 2019Good :
- interesting story
- voice acting
Bad :
- gameplay too poor
- graphics : low resolution textures
- bad optimization : the game requires a high-end graphic card to play in 4K at 60 fps while graphics are not very good -
Nov 24, 2018An absolutely amazing story and great atmosphere in this game. It what some may call a "Walking Simulator" but it;'s well worth palying. Only issue is a bit short, 2 hours roughly.
-
Nov 9, 2018The stories are too scattered and hardly linked to each other. Picture is great though but besides it cannot find much selling point.

Oct 12, 2018I am starting disappointed for metacritic. People here is unreasonably picky and I even saw a 0 score for Edith Finch..unbelievable. I will give 9.5 for its brave and beautiful narratation!
-
Oct 3, 2018The best title in it's genre. Lots of unique and clever ideas. Very close to 10/10!

Aug 7, 2018What Remains of Edith Finch is an amazing videogame experience and the less you know learn about it before playing the better.
-
Jul 14, 2018Great and beautiful and easily worth playing instead of watching some the crap movie that Hollywood has to offer. The Team made the game with thoughtful heart. Good story and graphics. Cool ideas and voice acting. Unique and totally worth playing. I wish it was longer but I know you need a much bigger budget for a longer quality game like this.

Apr 14, 2018It is indeed a beautiful and captivating story. Every minute in this game was worth it, simply incredible.
-
Apr 14, 2018High quality yet ultimately very pretentious storytelling. Each family members story is told using interesting and varied game play mechanics.... I just didn't care enough about any of the characters to finish the game. Impressive game design marred by a lacklustere story IMO.
-
Apr 10, 2018The game introduces entirely new mechanics and ways to tell the story every couple of minutes. It's only 3 hours long, but it's very refreshing. It may not be the best story ever told in video games, but it's not about the story itself, it's about how this story is being presented to the viewer.
-
Mar 20, 2018Great game with touching vignettes that will make you gasp. Wonderful graphical detail to the world, such as the home. Disliked the ending.

Feb 2, 2018Living in western Washington and being a fan of houses with secret passages, I LOVED the scenery and visuals of this game.
The story started great, but for me it petered out as the game went on, and there was no satisfying ending. -
Jan 28, 2018What a **** amazing masterpiece. The atmosphere is a true work of art. The story just grips and doesnt let you go untill the very end. The visuals are just outstanding. I cried like a baby at the end. Just.****.Play.This.Masterpiece.

Nov 17, 2017This shouldn't have been a game, it should have been a book instead. Just go read a book. It will be more rewarding then slogging through this crap to get to the game equivalent of the next page.

Sep 24, 2017One of the most amazing story game experience i have ever played! 2017 has been very poor on gaming, but there are still gems like this among the big boring AAA games.
-
Sep 1, 2017Great story, great characters, great music and a great game. This game is so fun to play. I think it deserves a GOTY nominee at least. Love that and I can recommend this to everyone.
-
Aug 26, 2017As I played, I began not only wander but wonder. Such a beautiful game, the characters, and the story is written perfectly, incredibly sad and tragically beautiful.
-
Aug 15, 2017Very Nice thing to Play. Storyline is just perfect, a little bit sad, but very moving! The First impression was so genuine! I have never felt horrified while playing, despite the fact that you play alone with nobody alive around, only past, that is tragic and unhappy!

Jul 14, 2017Finally a "game" that fully exploits the narration! The player, or rather, the spectator, has nothing more than to move between one story and the other and enjoy it. Aesthetically interesting and very, very creative. The fact that a game virtually free from violence and the usual dysentery of action has been so successful, it is hoping.
-
Jul 8, 2017Wonderful visuals, unique and heartbreaking story. It's short and sweet. It's definitely one of the most surprising games of the year. I'm sure it's going to be nominated for the best indie and I'm hoping it wins

May 24, 2017A beautiful game in every sense of the word. The story, voice work, gameplay and visuals were all done so expertly, I can't fault any aspect of this game. It made me feel every emotion possible from laugh out loud happiness to complete sadness, this was a truly wonderful experience that I can't recommend highly enough.

May 22, 2017Best visual novel at this point. Great story, magnificent interior designs, You can believe that it was a room of real person, unique one. Two hours of emotion.

May 18, 2017Highly enjoyable game with a good plot and actually some emotional storytelling. I wish it was a bit longer personally. But in the end its a nice short title.
-
May 17, 2017Played this game at around 15fps, still loved every part of It, Its one of those games where you wish you can replay.. but you can't. The only complaint would be that It was very short (around 2 hours ish)
-
May 17, 2017It is pretty, it is well done, especially the Comic book part and the Canary, but it's short and honestly I found it pretty boring, I hoped the story had a surprise in the end but overall it's bland....
-

-
May 14, 2017Extremely overrated ... what's good is that it's short. The "game" tries to tell a story, but I find it relatively bland and it feels unfinished in the end. "Game", yeah it's not really a game ... you move along a narrow path as the story is being told ... as interactive as turning pages in a book.
-
May 11, 2017It's a narrative game with great storytelling mechanics. I really enjoyed the story and the way it's told (using player's actions). Highly recommended for story driven games fans.
-
May 10, 2017It's a game where you walk around and do nothing, not worth the asking price, and not worth playing even for free. Buy something with real gameplay instead of a walking sim.
-

-
May 8, 2017It's a "walking simulator" game but, not a simple one, it is a very original one. Amazing game, emotional, mysterious, interactive, really good atmosphere and the way in which the stories are narrated is very original, each one with it owns way of showing it to the player. I want to know the things that these developers can do with future games. REALLY WORTH IT!!!!
-
May 8, 2017This is the easiest 10 I gave to a game lately. It's unique, fantastic, moving and beautiful. Also, it's the saddest thing I've ever played, which is a lot, given the existence of To The Moon.
-
May 5, 2017This is sincerely one of the best games I've ever played. What this team gets and is so often missed by other developers is that in a story driven game, you should tell it in a way that only a game can. The mechanics of storytelling in What Remains of Edith Finch are the new bar set that all future developers should strive to achieve.
-
May 4, 2017This is clearly one of the best games ever created. It won't be for everyone but the story is great, the characters fine, the cinematography spectacular. Whoever made this must be praised.
-

May 3, 2017Amazing! It really does get sad the closer you get to the end. And since I had it on PC their were only maybe 2 or 3 times that my fps dipped down into to the 30- 40's. Other than that it was a nice 60 + fps. I really would recommend this game to people who love good stories. Just sit back and enjoy the game.

Apr 30, 2017Really worth it, than the other titles, that came out at the same time.
Shortly said: Video game in video game.
The only thing, that i hated was the ending... BECAUSE IT ENDED. But everything, needs to always end somehow, one way or another.
WORTH THE BUY!

Game World Navigator MagazineJul 5, 2017Leisurely exploration of the estate is interspersed with stories about the last days of different Finch family members – and these moments show that developers didn’t just proclaim their love for H.P. Lovecraft, Neil Gaiman and other masters of magical realism, they really know that stuff. Giant Sparrow draws you into the little girl’s dreamworld just as easily as it paints a picture of kingly ambitions of a factory worker. [Issue#221, p.81]
