I've never seen a game made with less honesty. Every little bit of this is perfectly calculated to contain just what a publicly and critically acclaimed work should have. Absolutely terrible piece of crap mixed with steamy diarrhea and boogers. Imo not 0/10 because devs made such a "game" intentionally to win BAFTA GOTY and they did it without even trying to make their product actually good and putting nearly no effort in it (but pretending it was a very hard work of professional team, lol), I have nothing against them.

The "game" itself is absolutely terrible in any aspect : design of the location is vapid, characters (there is literaly none of them, you "play" as an invisible dot floating around 1.6 meters above the surface, sometimes pretending to be a human by making noises), story itself and storytelling are made only to play on feelings of 14yo edgy unstable kids, gameplay is just walking from point A to B. You absolutely can't affect anything by interacting with it, just dull repeatable "press E to watch a something about another mentally ill person" ("win" is definetely not a fitting word here as it is not a game).
On top of all that, it runs poorly on PC which can run any 2019 game on high / medium-high settings with smooth framerate, while its visual is somewhere around early 7th gen console game.
The worst game I've ever played in my entire life, far worse then **** like Heavy rain, Until dawn, Atlas or even Fallout 76. Do not waste your time on this.

High quality yet ultimately very pretentious storytelling. Each family members story is told using interesting and varied game play mechanics.... I just didn't care enough about any of the characters to finish the game. Impressive game design marred by a lacklustere story IMO.

at first story does seem very intriguing and nice but once you spend more time playing you discover that the story is actually unconvincing and pointless
the most basic thing like redefining keyboard control isnt available...

1 point for design and music.
1 point for good stories of family members.
I liked this game until I end it. There is no plot. There is no answers for the questions. There is no main idea. Postmodern "art" as it is. Very big disappointment.

Living in western Washington and being a fan of houses with secret passages, I LOVED the scenery and visuals of this game.

The story started great, but for me it petered out as the game went on, and there was no satisfying ending.

Incredibly disappointed by this game, it certainly doesn't live up to the hype. I loved Firewatch and Gone Home, and both games have a sense of discovery that this game is just lacking. For a story driven game, the story is bland, if it weren't for the creativity in the way the story is presented, I would have rated this a zero. For a story driven game, the story is bland, if it weren't for the creativity in the way the story is presented, I would have rated this a zero. The story suffers from trying to do too much in small bursts. You spend mere minutes learning about each characters death, which is entirely underwhelming because you know absolutely nothing about the character (or very very little) to begin with, and most of the deaths are just silly. A lot of the character's actions don't make a lick of sense either. I feel like there was supposed to be a slight twist towards the end of the game, which I "spoiled" for myself in the first few minutes of play just by looking down. I played through the entire game in one sitting, under two hours, and games like this, walking simulators, often have little to no replay-ability; definitely not worth the price of admission. Expand

Wow. What an utter bore. #1: this is not a video game. This is a *barely* interactive storybook, with slow moving, janky controls, a languid movement speed whose only purpose is to drag out the sparse content to make it feel longer. The story is lackluster, unrelatable, and ultimately pointless with no buildup, climax, or payoff whatsoever.

If this had been a show or movie, I wouldn't

If this had been a show or movie, I wouldn't have even bothered watching it in the background while i was playing a real game. I kept playing hoping there would be some point or that it would improve as I got deeper into it as the reviews seem so high. The only blessing therefore was that it was quite short.

The story is unconvincing. Some characters feel very artificial along with the events covering their past.

Also, there is a 17 year old girl who is pregnant and moving around a death trap house. No info on who impregnated this child or why the storytelling involves unfitting random immoral stuff that are put in just to raise attention of retarded teenagers and rake off the money. 2

2 points for the cannery and the comic booky part.

At least I know that "Walking Simulator" means that it's basically just animation where you do very little. You just finish the game with the sensation that you just wasted 3 hours of your time walking painfully slowly through someone's house. I found FIrewatch far more interesting, and I would easily recommend it above and beyond this game. This is a truly laughable, pointless, time-wasting experience, that tries hard to tear jerk you and eventually fails even at that. Expand

It's a game where you walk around and do nothing, not worth the asking price, and not worth playing even for free. Buy something with real gameplay instead of a walking sim.

Игра очень сильно напоминает The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. Это по сути продолжение, но с новой историей. К сожалению, не мой жанр, оценить не могу.

Leisurely exploration of the estate is interspersed with stories about the last days of different Finch family members – and these moments show that developers didn’t just proclaim their love for H.P. Lovecraft, Neil Gaiman and other masters of magical realism, they really know that stuff. Giant Sparrow draws you into the little girl’s dreamworld just as easily as it paints a picture of kingly ambitions of a factory worker. [Issue#221, p.81]

Beautiful, bittersweet, artistic, frank and engaging game. Just a shame of the scope that does not allow to move from a captivating start into a completely satisfactory final. [Issue#275]

The game tells intriguing stories and leaves room for interpretation but is short, linear and devoid of true tension. [07/2017, p.60]
