    iamthewizard2 is obviously lying. I have ONE 780TI (not 3 like this guy claims he has..never even heard of that anyways...) and I am running this game on max settings with 60-80FPS. The graphics are very, very good. Anyone that says otherwise has not played the PC version of this game and are probably disgruntled console players (like myself, who cancelled my pre order for the ps4 afteriamthewizard2 is obviously lying.     This review will be solely based upon the game itself, not Uplay, not launch issues, not anything at all which is directly game related. But I would like to mention that the optimization is fine! People just need to update their drivers. I run the game at 1080p, high/ultra settings with a setup featuring a GTX 670 and an i5-3570, with an average FPS of 45.

    The game itself looks great! It might be one of the best looking sandbox games at the moment. The reflections of puddles and the water is spot on. Textures look great, I have not yet found spots which are muddy or undetailed. Shadows are not static as some people mention, enabling anti-aliasing will help upon it and cranking the shadow details up a little. Furthermore, it's just amazing seeing how objects are following the wind, the trees, trash, paper, leaves etc.

    The AI is not dumb, it's actually one of the most realistic and best responding AI I've tried in a long time. When stealing cars people call the police, if you draw your gun they run in fear and call the police, if you're spotted during someone doing a crime they stop it of fear. Shooting officers in the knee during a chase will take them out without killing them, why did it take so long for something so simple yet useful as this?

    Gameplay works great. There are many mini-games, many crimes and many other forms of smaller side-quests to do, which are great for the most part, yet they will become repetitive in the long run. The main story itself is long and entertaining, without spoiling anything I can tell it's different and a fresh breath in the gaming industry. The hacking is easily done by a click of a button and I like that. The difficulty of the hacking is to do it at the right moment, so you can either get past guards, escape the police or take someone out. The driving works, yet is nothing fantastic. When you start to drive the car accelerates at an unrealistic pace, it takes a while to get used to, but isn't game breaking.
    You can also see the game is made by Ubisoft, a little parkour borrowed from Assassins Creed is well executed and brings life into chases on foot.

    The game is worth it's price. I haven't met any issues yet and I recommend to anyone who enjoys sandbox games! Now go hack a dude who often buys online porn!    … Expand

    It may not be as good as people was waiting for, but it's a great game to put on the same level as Assassins creed.
    It has it's load of bugs but the story is great, the freedom feeling is great too. The multiplayer mode is truly immersive and innovative.
    I wish a few other game take example on their online mode (^_^)

    Anyway, what really makes Watch_Dogs great is that it sets the world up to allow you to be immersed. If that's not your thing, you probably won't be rating it 10/10. Even then, it's still a nice main story.

    PS: Why compare it to GTA IV? Well GTA V doesn't even exist on the PC. Hardly fair to compare games cross console. That's really just a rant - at least Ubisoft is still fully willing to make PC games. That's more than I can say for R*. A game with some Day-One bugs is much, much better than no game at all. I am running smooth with not glitches. Driving can be a bit wonky at times but is still fun. Hacking while not complicated is still enjoyable, I really like the building spying hacks.

    A lot of people compare this to GTA 4 but I cannot compare because I skipped GTA 4 since the story did not appeal to me. Even though it is light I like the subterfuge involved with Watch Dogs,the character is a criminal but a smart one.

    As for those complaining about performance it seems no different than years back when the Wing Commander and Ultima 7 came out and required a 386 processor. I remember a lot of people complaining back then but it drove people to upgrade so that other game companies could push their limits further. Anyway, while there are some people disappointed by broken promises of even more features, I am happy with the package that was delivered, and I am excited to see what kind of improvements are made in the future.    … Expand

    If you want to play it on PC then you need to make some changes in settings file (one option change from "console" to "pc" and turn on rain render).
    Game is good. My first impression was disappointment.. but then. i like it more and more

    The more I play the more I absolutely love this game. There is so much to do, super fun and it looks absolutely amazing on PC especially when its not the middle of the day it really shows off its beauty. It also runs flawlessly!

    If people are having problems with performance get MSI afterburner/riva tuner and see how much of your videoram and your gpu % usage. etc I get 60+ fps and    The more I play the more I absolutely love this game. There is so much to do, super fun and it looks absolutely amazing on PC especially when its not the middle of the day it really shows off its beauty. It also runs flawlessly!

    I get 60+ fps and run at 2560x1600 with textures on high (not ultra as it states 3+ vram req) and everything else on ultra, hbao+ high and Anti-aliasing on fxaa. No stuttering or any problems with the SLI just beautiful gameplay. My specs are GTX 690, i7 4770k @ 4.4 ghz, 16gb ram.    … Expand

    The game is not optimized for amd systems. The performance is very bad because ubisoft only worked with nvidia and this game is nvidia GameWorks.
    -1 for ubisoft and this garbage

    This game is an amazing must buy. Great NPCs. Plenty to do in the city and the online play is awesome. I've played non stop for multiple days and i'm loving it. And it plays great on my 1 nvidia card.

    I'm about 10 hours in with 14% completion. Only 3 out of like 40 (I think) story missions done, and still several types of missions that I haven't started yet, as well as several more of each type I have tried.

    There is a lot to do, some stealthy, some shooty, some trippy, some hacky, some goofy, some serious... sersiouly a lot to do in Watch_Dogs. So, I feel pretty darn good about    I'm about 10 hours in with 14% completion. Only 3 out of like 40 (I think) story missions done, and still several types of missions that I haven't started yet, as well as several more of each type I have tried.

    There is a lot to do, some stealthy, some shooty, some trippy, some hacky, some goofy, some serious... sersiouly a lot to do in Watch_Dogs.

    So, I feel pretty darn good about this games length.

    I continue to have a blast just wondering around hacking people for money, listening to their phone calls, reading their texts, peeping into their homes and apartments. lol.

    I see a lot of complaints about the driving, but I think that's just because it "feels" different than GTA or Saints Row, so you kind of have to re-learn how to play. I guess people hate that. Learning.

    But I love the WAY it works, hacking streetlights so it takes out an armored convoy that didn't even know I was there. Or slamming on the brakes and firing a barricade so my chasers fly by me and slam into it. Raising a bridge with juuuust the right timing so that I can jump over but they cannot follow. Time it just right and you get an awesome slow down so you can admire your hacking (timing) skills.

    It's fast, its dynamic, you always have options over the GTA/Saints Row staple of "drive fast" and I love it.

    Tried some of the Multiplayer, it's interesting, kinda like AC but you are trying to stay in range without getting spotted, or trying to spot who is after you. The matchmaking system is kind of a bummer, because you are locked out of a lot of activities while you are queued in the MP system but its another thing to do in the world and it (and all the other activities) is better than ALL of those "things" to do in GTA.

    The game continues to run great for me, no lag, no stutter, no crashes, no memory leaks, no bugs aside from a tiny bit of open world funk here and there, I haven't had to get new drivers or anything, just install and play.

    Really hoping the buzz on this game turns around a bit.

    Yes it sounds like AMD users are having more trouble. Yes it sounds like there is some weird FPS issue with PCs that should completely overpower this game's engine. Yes Uplay was down for a while today a couple of times causing some trouble for some people to download the game.

    But that's no reason for people to give 1 or 2 star reviews. Or even to not recommend it to others.

    That said Watch_Dogs might not appeal to every single GTA/Saints Row/AC fan out there... but I liked those games a lot... and I can't wait to have some free time tomorrow to play more.    … Expand

    I can't comment on any of the technical problems that some seem to be having as I'm working fine at 60+ fps on an i7 with a sing GPU. Although U(don't)play wasn't working last night it didn't stop me loading the game in offline mode. It seems there are a fair number of complaints from people running 32bit OSs that didn't pay attention to the requirements.    … Expand

    3. Hacking - everything - from bridges to car alarms to grenades to steam pipes to police helicopters to cameras...awesome stuff, and easy to do on the go.
    4. Firefights - gunning baddies, not necessarily fatally - shooting knees neutralizes them,for peaceful amongst us. You can avoid most of the combat through smart stealth. Cover system is solid.
    5. Puzzles
    6, Minigames - lots of them, and fun ones!
    7. Narrative and voice acting
    8. The best multiplayer I have ever played - you have to see it to believe it, pairing people in different scenarious, even with players on mobile phones with a special app!

    I can't say enough good things about that game - there are negatives too.

    Main character is too .... two sided. Game is not sure whether it wants him to be good protector of innocent or just an **** murdering people for no reason. His character is a bit flat too, graphics is a bit average(google the worse mod - makes the game look 10 times better and stutter less), and some missions are bit repetitive.

    To my surprise Watch Dogs turned out to be one of my favorite games of all time. It does the majority of things really well and it has content for 100 hours if you want to do everything! Hacking brings a lot of optional ways you can tackle missions. You can hack enemy equipment and go stealthily and try to remain unseen or go guns blazing and blow everything up. There's also some greatTo my surprise Watch Dogs turned out to be one of my favorite games of all time. It does the majority of things really well and it has content for 100 hours if you want to do everything! Hacking brings a lot of optional ways you can tackle missions. You can hack enemy equipment and go stealthily and try to remain unseen or go guns blazing and blow everything up. There's also some great voice actors, great driving, surprisingly clever puzzles and even a wonderful original score, Also, Chicago is one of the best open worlds I have seen in games, it looks fantastic especially at night. A word of warning though, you will need a powerful PC to be able to fully enjoy this game. I understand why some players are mad about how the game run at launch and how buggy it was, but fortunately for me I started to play this after the patches so it was a really smooth experience for me and I couldn't be much happier with it. There is a person in my game and they have been tailing me. They are trying to still info from me and i didn't know it until they started hacking. I was just about to do a mission. This game is amazing and if they add co-op missions to the free roam it will be one of the greatest this year. All the negative reviews will either have no merit or purely be based on how they couldn't get the game to work. In that regard thats not a review of the game it self but on either their hardware or Ubisoft horrible servers and bad optimization. Games great and you may have to fiddle the settings i give it a 10/10 (9.5/10) truly but gotta counter the trolls.    … Expand

    I had a blast with Watch Dogs. Very interesting open world with a ton of things to do, time would fly by like crazy when playing. Online is intense fun. Being able to tail someone else playing the game and has no idea you're there or hacking someone and they definitely know you're there can be a blast! I love this game a lot, and Ubisoft did a good job putting out a stellar new IP. I'mI had a blast with Watch Dogs. Very interesting open world with a ton of things to do, time would fly by like crazy when playing. Online is intense fun. Being able to tail someone else playing the game and has no idea you're there or hacking someone and they definitely know you're there can be a blast! I love this game a lot, and Ubisoft did a good job putting out a stellar new IP. I'm really excited with the direction they could take this idea.

    For me, this was the best game of 2015. I finished it on X1 and now playing it on PC using high settings, and let me tell you, it's the best looking next gen open world game I have played. The multiplayer is really fun and there are alot of ppl playing(7-2-15), I find matches instantly. The 1v1 hacking is soooo fun, it's like hide and seek with guns!! Tons of sidequests. Very destructableFor me, this was the best game of 2015. I finished it on X1 and now playing it on PC using high settings, and let me tell you, it's the best looking next gen open world game I have played. The multiplayer is really fun and there are alot of ppl playing(7-2-15), I find matches instantly. The 1v1 hacking is soooo fun, it's like hide and seek with guns!! Tons of sidequests. Very destructable environment where everything smashes to pieces in a realistic way. Keep in mind there are very realistic adult things in this game. My only gripe....no planes or heli. 10/10… Expand

    Yesterday i completed this game and I can say that it's the best story i have ever played. This game has some problems but people that give it bad note only shows how stupid they are. This game should have solid 8/10 (I gave 10 because there are to much idiots there that gave 0 because... i don't know what)

    + a lot of cars ( a lot of "budget" cars! )
    + enough weapons
    + amazing multi-player free roam (but they should at least add poker there)

    - cannot modify weapons (scope, magazine, silencer, laser etc )
    - cannot do some simple stupid things like sit on bench this could be event greater durning hacking other player (like in assasin's creed but without stupid gray colors...)
    - only one item at normal shops -> for eg you can only buy beer ( alcohol should negatively influence the "focus" not add it...) beer should take one point of focus for some time, vodka should take 5 )
    - has typical sandbox errors (big car spawned blended with fence and disappeared (when i did enter)

    For those which want "radio" from gta 5 you have application for music where you can remove all songs from list and add only those which you want (it is organized in music types so you can add all pop or soul whatever you want)

    If you don't want to play - it's your problem, but don't give not < 5 because this game does not deserve it!    … Expand

    I have a **** PC that cannot run the game. 0/10 is bull****. Metacritic should ban those people, but well they make money out of it.

    Don't listen to the negative reviews. This game, in my opinion, will be nominated for Game of the Year. The amount of content they put into this game blows my mind. Aside from the main missions, there are a plethora of side missions, hacking jobs, mini games, and even collectibles to find that will unlock additional missions.     If your PC isn't high end especially if your do not have a lot of Graphic RAM you shouldn't use ultra settings.
    Is uses 3,4GB of my Graphic RAM on Ultra, so yeah even if you have a good graphic card, but one with only 2GB of RAM    Game is fluent on my PC (i7-3770K, GTX 770 4GB), I have a constant 55-70fps. Never drops below that which in my opinion for the Graphic displayed is very good.

    They seem to have done a very good job at making the game use multiple cores, there are 5-7 cores on ~40-80% load, so yeah it does use a lot of computing power but they managed to use the cpu effectively!
    Game play it self is very interesting, played it 16 hrs now, and didn't really find a need to follow the many story since there is a lot of other stuff to in the World, how it should be in an open world game!
    About the handling, well it is different how you control a lot of stuff like menus, but once you figured it out it is very intuitive and easy to use! It is a lot easier, than I thought before playing the game, to to choose the target you wanted for the hack while you are driving
    tldr; Game is great, ppl who complain about performance should choose appropriate settings. Controls are different but easy to get used to.    … Expand

    Watch_Dogs is an amazing game and people should understand that if you are going to review a game, the client being used to run said game is irrelevant. A review on a game should be commenting on the game itself and it's gameplay as well as graphics rather than if Uplay is having problems or not. If your game is crashing, just lower the settings.     In other words, ignore all the negative reviews saying that the game is bad because of client or crashing issues, as aside from those factors, the game is possibly one of the best games of 2014.

    Also, if the game crashes and says it dosent support your driver, go to the website of said driver and update it. It's what happened to me and that is how I fixed it.

    This game got trashed on its launch for a number of reasons. One of which was the 'downgraded visuals' from its e3 reveal in 2012. However, despair not because a plucky script kiddie 'The Worse' managed to tap into software graphical effects that were disabled by ubisoft at the last minute and re-enable them. So this is a must if you own the game look for the wose mod and install that.

    The story in watchdogs has excellent writing and I found the world very engaging with unique in world npc animations that warrant just taking a moment to enjoyy (street performers, work colleagues on a drunken night out etc) just little moments that make the city feel alive. Some great interior environments to explore all culminate to make you feel like the ultimate hi-tech 'fixer'. I kind of felt as if I was playing the ultimate splinter cell conviction idea of an ex cia operative working through a case. Highly entertaining stuff!

    The music tracks while excellent, repeat often so I found myself turning them off and supplying my own soundtrack (thanks good old media player). Alot of criticism was aimed at the hacking here which conversely I found to be intuitive and thoughtful especially following the lines of connection through a building - I mean its far frp, realistic but im holding a controller so not expecting more than that.

    Overall then an underrated experience that warrants a look in. Worse mode all the way!!!!    … Expand

    Tully amazing game! I've played it all day and am constantly impressed with the diversity, imagination and attention to detail. Worth every penny I paid. The best thing about this game is the immersion.

    It was just incredible to see so many NPCs alive with their own backgrounds, and the city in Chicago was amazing.
    It's not only a game about hacking but also reflects the recent issues that just happened in reality.

    Wow, the game really delivers what it promised for. Played it on the most superior platform for gamers which is my PC, and it's totally worth it preordering. You really feel like an unstoppable hacker where you literally kill everyone with your iPhone! Also, it even has more cars than GTA V, so I personally think this game is far more better! The graphics are pretty beautiful, beautifullyWow, the game really delivers what it promised for.     Best game play the orignal game not pirated. Game with Nvidia hardware looks awesome install 337.88 driver then see it is not very heavy game GTX 760 can play it ultra but with latest driver . Consoles and amd looks same but with Nvidia it looks so much good.

И не сильно ждал крутости от нее. И конечно же первая часть не будет самой лучшей(Assassin's Creed I). Но это достаточно интересная игра. Несмотря что мне встречались глюки и некоторые баги играл я достаточно долго, потому что я встретил достаточно редкую возможность все взломать: счета, светофоры, отключение света и не только взломы. Игра достаточно живая с людьми. Можно наблюдать за их реакцией, какая у них жизнь, что они делают обычно. Некоторые из них обсуждали главного героя, в новостях его обсуждали и даже я умудрился нескольких фанатов встретить и сфотографироваться или они тебя(Делал много добрых поступков). Насчет оптимизаций я думаю это из-за контракта с Nvdia, я так думаю т.к. после 3 части AC 4 часть запускал в 720 пикселей. Ах да насчет взломов, я хотел бы посмотреть на ваши лица когда вам бы пришлось бы взламывать на различных программных языках в игре. Больше половины людей в мире не смогла бы пройти игру до конца) Подумайте это же единственная игра в которой ты можешь взламывать мобильником большинство объектов. Сюжет игры он одновременно простой и одновременно интересный, конец конечно не хэппи энд, но нормальный(кстати намеки на 2 часть есть). Не знаю как вам ребята, но для первой части достаточно хорошую игру смастерили, а значит есть надежда на то что 2 часть может быть шедевром. PS: 10 балов ставлю за все вышеперечисленное.… Expand

I read that someone has triple 780 gtx ^^ and has lag problems...i play it on the 670 gtx 2 gb edition and a 4670k i5 on ultra settings and i have an average frame of 36. Don´t play the game with a 500 EUR computer and if you have the three cards you get mikro drops cause of sli! I think that u are lying but thats not whats my review about.

    The game looks pretty nice and i like all the popouls world they created. The story is good and you have a lot of side quests optional to do. It´s not like GTA but I think it's a fresh and good change for an open world game. I love the interaction with the enviroment and the skill system. Just try the game and enjoy it :).    … Expand

    Anyway - onto the actual review.

    I've not completed the game yet but so far the game has been very fun, there is lots to do and very little things holding you back from just doing what ever you feel like. I have to say the things such as destroying criminal convoys are completely out of the story life, but really fun with a 40,000 dollar grenade launcher. The main story, personally, is very good. Before I bought the game BETA critics were complaining that it's an over-reaction (the whole storyline) but I think that it really fits.

    The gameplay its self is also pretty damn awesome, the driving mechanics are a bit ... crazy. BUT are really fun to mess around with. The graphics in the game are amazing (I play on ultra). The game could do with a few more open buildings though to make the world even more open.

    The AI aren't the brightest bunch, I'll give you that. From reading 'sowingsadness's' review it seems that this person must of been previously playing minecraft and having some sort of finger increment. 'NPC' that's a non-player character. AI are the civis and soldiers that shoot at you, including the police. 'Woods cars' seems legit. The car's are a lot more sturdy than real life, but that doesn't really make a huge difference. etc... etc..

    So far, i am very happy with the outcome of the game. I just wish to see those few reviews which moan about Uplay servers and down vote the game to take that to Uplay themselves rather than hitting it at the game.    … Expand

    I love this game. Yes. They have problems with connections on start, but this is multiplatform game. They are working on them. Game is awesome. Graphic is beautifull and you know what?

    Watch_Dogs might not have the next gen graphics all pc gamers were waiting for, but it has everything else next gen. While GTA5 is great, but its an iterative improvement on previous games. here you have something fresh and new and FUN. Give it a try and you won't regret it!

    For those not sure if they can run the game, I play it on Ultra with textures on high on a gtx 760 with the latest driver update from 2-3 days ago and it runs smooth as butter. Some say it is very taxing on HDD so install on SSD and you're good to go. (if you have a 200$+ graphic card and no ssd, you are not serious about gaming and deserve low performance)    … Expand

    Great game. They've updated it to make it more compatible with AMD hardware, as far as I can tell. It really doesn't deserve so many negative reviews. Hardware issues aside, the game itself is a fantastic game, and is a lot of fun to play.

    -Some idiot cracked it and released a bunch of fake copies of the game a week before the official release
    -In the real edition the game plays smoothly with very few bugs (which is more than can be said about other games Thief, BF4, etc.)
    -The actual system runs really nice if you play it the way its meant to be played (instead of running in guns blazing try stealth for once)
    -Comparing it to GTA 5 is completely out of question, GTA is like "pew" "pew" oh yeah BOOOOM while Watch_Dogs has an actual story
    -If you have played the game more than two seconds you would realize that Aiden's major flaw is being over protective of his family and if you have played even up to the second act you would find that Damien has kidnapped Aiden's sister giving a realism to what he is doing and why. You even see it in the objectives, if its a mission where you are protecting a family member you have to kill everyone while in others you are free to play how ever you like.
    -The alleged "unintelligent AI" actually follow patrols and act like normal people, if a man were to park on the side of the road coming from a speed of 120 miles per hour, you would be scared, you are just mad because you keep crashing into people and lowering your rep (How would you feel if a "vigilante" was killing random civillians?).
    -The city they made is huge with tons to do, don't want to go on with the story, try online playing, fed up with that, stop crime, not enough well then infiltrate an optional high security ctOS center, your tired of that to? try a fixer contract and go on a high speed car chase using your intelligence and hacking skills to take down vehicles, bored with all of that then you can covertly walk down the streets picking up bits of info and finding even more missions of all kinds or just generally find out personal information about people
    -oh no static shadows, this is a tragedy God no, why didn't they take the time to make the shadows move with the 30 minute days? It should have been their priority instead of making the rain look amazing, or making all the cut scenes for every one of the 100 (relative) outfits you can where, or perhaps optimizing the game, or making dozens of songs specifically for the game, or copying almost every detail of Chicago (seriously, I found my brother's apartment building), come on people, complaining about static shadows.

    All in all the game is solid and I have not run into any of these major, game breaking bugs all of everyone speaks of. Honestly if you only got 5 hours of game play out of this game, you cannot truly call yourself a gamer, no true gamer blazes straight through the story you always stop for at least a few side missions. Oh and if you expected to really learn how to hack then you are a complete idiot, even when the game was first announced I knew that it was going to be the strategy element it is (once again, try playing stealth). If a game is not what you expected that doesn't make it bad, I was pleasantly surprised with the game and found it to be amazing. Just the concept, the story, the action, the detail (every person has their own personality, and every alleyway has some sort of secret), and scenery just made the game completely worth it.    … Expand

    Ultra graphics / Ultra textures / 1080p / 144hz / Gtx 960 / i5 4460. Plays at 40-60fps without any issue , i dont get stutter , the story is decent , graphics are actually good at ultra. Love it :3

    I tried gta5 after finnishing Watch Dogs, but it felt so boring and shallow in comparison. gta5 has to be one of the most overrated games in recent years. It doesnt even compare to WD.

    People haven't dreamed about a game like this. This is beyond the doubt, the most intense world-open game I have ever played.

    It struggles when you're driving to bigger city points, the frame-rate drops when you're using low settings, although I have no problems when using high textures. I have no problems with the story-line, it's takes a while to complete but yet fine.

The story is pretty bland and the main character Aiden is bland and sounds like Batman with a head cold. A few of the characters though feel unique and are a great addition to the bland protagonist. The hacking is quite simple and is split up into a skills tree where you can select what you find useful from wrecking vehicles with traffic lights or using bridges as a ramp. The profiler system is great and hacking into civilians bank accounts and phone calls makes the world feel alive. The singleplayer and multiplayer are integrated well as you can connect to a session via your phone and keep playing the game until you have properly connected. There are 2 modes which allow you to hack into somebodys single player world and tail them or install a backdoor installation both of these tasks require stealth and your opponents can use the cameras around them to spot you offguard. There is also a race mode which is fairly basic which Is just normal driving with nitro. My two favourite modes were online decryption and online free roam. Decryption is a competitive sort of capture the flag game mode, and you can choose to select preset loadouts for your playing style, and you can use skills you've learnt from singleplayer into effect to help you and your team win. Free roam on the other hand was one of my favourite gamemodes I felt isolated when I wasn't playing with friends, but when I was, it was amazing and you can use the uplay chat to communicate. In this mode you can use everything from you singleplayer world including cars, weapons and skills and screw around in Chicago or Pawnee. The physics in this game are quite dodgy but not gamebreaking but hilarious making things funner, by getting ridiculous airs and doing crazy stunts online. This game is worth it on sale I have a GTX 660 2GB and it runs about 40- 55 fps on high… Expand

    I don't get why all the reviews are so bad. Yes I know it didn't live up to it's expectations and hype, but what can you do. You can do so many fun things and haven't you wanted to do this stuff in a game?
    It's still a good game, but everyone is fussing too much about the graphics not being the same as at E3 2012.
    Just get over it, it's still one of 2014's best games (in my opinion).

Perhaps I was lucky, but I started out playing this on a 4 year old Intel i3 with a budget Nvidia card and it looked good and ran well on Medium settings. I finished playing it on a different system (loving cloud based saves) where I was able to max everything out.     I was fortunate though to pick this game up on a deal for under 10 euros, I'd held off buying it before due to the negative reviews. In hindsight, I would have quite happily paid full price.    … Expand

Most of these comments here are from 2014 and doesn't reflect what this game actually is. It's clear that this game will be looked back in 50 years as something ambitious and in many levels it actually succeeded. Many people complained that it didn't look as good as E3 trailer and half the hate came from there, but nobody never mentions that it still looks really good for early 2014 game, specially at night time. I played it 2 hours ago and even in 2020 it looks very decent. Huge respect goes from me to everyone who worked on this game and i understand you didn't have maybe biggest budget and what not, but what you did is still great job. It was also first open-world modern city game for Ubisoft, so imo it's kinda unfair to even compare it to GTA series, because Rockstar had been on roll since 2001. I'm hardcore GTA fan, but i almost equally like Watch_Dogs (2014). Of course GTA 5 is bigger, has more content and what not, but Watch_Dogs has always been hacker game first and that's how this game stands out from other GTA clones, in fact Watch_Dogs is not GTA clone, thanks to this hacking theme, it manages to be completely it's own thing.… Expand

    It's so ironic that PC version of this game has lowest rating while it is actually best version out of them all. Best graphics, best fps, etc. Good game, would recommend if you like open-world GTA type game with hacking.

    Good fun hacking game that takes place in huge Chicago, also has shooting elements. Not perfect, but still very enjoyable. Graphics look incredible for 2014 game, specially at night.

    Thank god Watch_Dogs steam user score got finally fixed, hopefully this one will as well someday. It's very good game, that got way too much hate in 2014 for nothing. People just overhyped it for no reason, it still solid game. In recent years seems like tons of people have come out and said that they really actually like this game, specially on youtube.

Best of three watch dogs games. I like how they also made nature-out of city area, they really missed a mark with that one in WD Legion. In fact Watch_Dogs map is actually pretty well designed for 2014 game. It was Ubisoft's first modern city and it would be absolutely unfair to compare it to GTA V. GTA V map is designed masterfully and i can't use same word for watch_dogs map, but it's still very well designed. GTA V is one of my favorites and obviously better game than Watch_Dogs, but Watch_Dogs is still good game. I like them both and it depends on my mood if i wanna play GTA V or Watch_Dogs. I love Watch_Dogs dark, rainy atmosphere, specially at night time and when i want sunny Los Angeles i will play GTA V, but to be fair, rain effects and lighting is also great in GTA V.     Pretty ironic that best version of this game has lowest score. I have solid fps with RTX 2060, game is maxed out. It's not best game ever, but there aren't many games i would say are "best ever" anyway. It's decent open world hacker game.

    It's actually pretty solid open-world hacking game. On steam it has actually solid user score, but that seems to be the case with many games on metacritic. RDR2 score here is absurdly low, like 5.6/10 ? lol, so yea.

    Ubisoft's flagship title has a really, really repulsive protagonist. The entire storyline feels like it was cranked out of a automated story generator. On the positive side, Watch Dogs looks really good on PC, especially after modding the graphics to match the visual splendor of the early E3 demos. [Aug 2014]

    Nothing could have realistically lived up to the immense level of hype that Ubisoft stirred up for this game, and while I value strong narratives and envelope-pushing technological advancements, I place just as much importance in the ability to enjoy the gameplay that's being offered to me. Watch Dogs is one of the more exciting sandbox games of the last few years, and if this is to become Ubisoft's next big franchise, I'm excited to see where they take it.
