Honestly pretty solid game, specially considering how weak year 2020 has been for games (so far), last of us (lies) 2 was awful, re 3 remake was 4 hours long speedrunner simulator, doom eternal was fine but nothing special (too much parkour for doom game). If you don't want some extremely deep lore and just wanna free roam and recruit random npc's then by any means it's worth trying out. No bugs so far.

I've not got a great PC (1660 Super / i5 6402p) but I've had no issues running this. Have a play around with the settings if you're struggling. Mines on medium - high and it looks great and plays well.

The whole "play as anyone" feature is a blessing and a curse. It's a lot of fun recruiting people and creating your own group but the characters all feel a bit too generic. I keep getting mis-matched voices - a bad-ass looking cage fighter with a super posh accent etc... The perma-death feature makes up for it though as it actually means something to die...

Overall, it's a decent game - don't expect it to be something it's not. It's another Watch Dogs game with a few improvements over the last 2 and a few regressions.

Someone complained that "put character to the center of screen" and while i absolutely agree with that and every game should have camera positioning like GTA V, you can actually
change FOV and put it to 100%. That puts character basically in the center of screen.
If you complain about this game, then why not about Ghost of Tsushima? This game had one of the worst camera angles i have

The permadeath feature adds more to the game than i expected, even trivial encounters like ramming a police car become life and death. When you know you wont just end up with a fine or an injury, you may loose a rare character, you tend to play differently. The learning curve may be painful at times as nothing sucks more than doing several missions to play a character only to get him/her killed before you learn how to play them. If you stick with the game you will find another recruit later that is as good or at least a variation of the one you lost, but that is little consolation when you ram an exploding barrel on accident and die instantly (or worse, loose a character to a gameplay glitch).

This game is a solid 8 and would be a 9 if it was released with more polish. I have noticed a few bugs... lost a little progress here and there, but it was to the types of things that you KNOW will get fixed in future patches. There is great variety in the citizens of the city, each being a potential recruit (even the bad guys). Each character I have spent any time doing missions with has sounded and looked very different although I suspect the thick accents make that easier for them.

The tech tree and progression have been slimmed down, and some gadgets are so overpowered than you end up never using some of the others (I am looking at you, spiderbot!). Still, hacking cargo drones to ride like surfboards is fun. So is putting a turret on top of your car and driving around, and so are countless other combinations of mechanics.

If you are a fan of earlier Watch Dogs games than this is a must-have. If you want a GTA clone with a few new mechanics, it is worth a buy. If you intend to play this game without permadeath (characters get sent to hospital for 'x' hours) then i would say there may not be enough new types of things to keep your attention. It would still be a good game, but it would be a generic GTA knockoff to be picked up on sale.

The "PLAY AS ANYONE" mechanic works like Ubisoft promised. That you can play as any Citizen and that's out there!, problem is that i heard the same "Piss easy, i got this" voice line for so many times my ears went numb, may sound bad but honestly just switch the character if that pisses you off (if you don't want to, too bad).

World actually feels alive. Also random dialogues that you hear on streets were absolute cringe in WD2, that was one of the reasons i couldn't stand that game. Legion is way better in that aspect, way more serious.

Legion is a return to the darker roots of Watch Dogs. It is also the best game in the series, regardless of whether you’re inclined to avoid violence and solve problems DedSec style (by hacking), or prefer to unleash a hail of bullets. The story improved big time and it is unsettling to realize how much the game’s dystopian reality resembles our own. [13/2020, p.62]
