Oct 12, 2019Warsaw looks nice, but it’s the substance that matters. The developers lifted pretty much everything from Darkest Dungeon, but failed to adapt those mechanics to suit the needs of a completely different story.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Feb 28, 2020Being in the shoes of guerrillas in the war-torn Warsaw really is an experience. If it hadn't been for unfinished ideas and bad design, it could have been a turn-based strategy pearl. [Issue#300]

Game World Navigator MagazineDec 6, 2019No matter what you do, it’s the RNG that will ultimately decide whether you win or lose. Instead of playing Warsaw, you might as well just roll the dice and punch yourself in the face every time it doesn’t show six. [Issue#241, p.55]

Oct 7, 2019Each character class I’ve found so far has been really distinct, and I still have a few to encounter. Warsaw has the makings of a genuinely fascinating, unyielding tactical game with a lot of heart and reverence for the events it’s based on. Still, as is, it’s currently a hard sell unless you’re really intent on a challenge that, while thematically resonant, often feels more arbitrary than it is complex.
