Game InformerSingle-player is utterly forgettable, but the online play is much smoother and more solid than what most of us have come to expect out of a $30 under-the-radar release. [May 2006, p.98]
-
I see a lot of re-playability here and I would recommend this game to any FPS fan especially those on a budget.
-
PC GamerFor $19.99, Warpath is a good deal--in quantity, if not quality. [Jun 2006, p.50]
-
The game definitely has its moments, but you’ll have to play a lot longer than you probably want to if you want to experience half of them.
-
Up to 16 people can play online but don't expect that many to show up for a war. Fortunately you can play with as little as one extra person online - and that may be the best you can hope for.
-
PC Zone UKThe multiplayer is what you'd expect: solid, if generic, shooting action around the levels that bored you in single-player. [Nov 2006, p.84]
-
WarPath tries so hard to be other games that there's no room left for innovation or more than five hours worth of enjoyment.
-
Even the bots on the hardest difficult suffer from noticeable A.I. issues, so if this one's to be played at all it should be online.
-
As a cheaply priced, multiplayer-focused first-person shooter, Warpath is serviceable, if utterly unremarkable.
-
To its credit, WarPath does contain some of the cheesiest weapon and vehicle names this side of an '80's Dolph Lundgren flick - we're guessing this is the only game where you’ll arm yourself with the Tyrant, Judge, Violator or Wolverine before driving off in your Maverick, Hornet or Razorback.
-
Warpath isn’t horrible, but it is incredibly uninspired. The design is, on every level, lackluster, as if the developers were so sick of the genre that they didn’t even try this time.
-
Put simply, Warpath is an unimaginative, derivative and downright pointless. It’s a clone of a clone, and an inferior one at that. The game feels outdated, clunky and lacking polish.
-
AceGamezQuite simply, WarPath is a mess. With terrible gameplay, bland graphics, forgettable sound, a whole host of technical issues, and a lifespan shorter than the manhood of a poorly equipped midget, there is little to savour from this game.
-
With more players I'm sure it will hold up against the big boys of the run-and-gun multiplayer world, certainly looking better than most. But without the players to fill the rooms, Warpath is pretty much meaningless.
