The graphics are very nice and the game play is exceptionally fun. The concept of the game is interesting and with future updates could become perfect, but that is up to the developer to decide. The ability to play solo, with friends, or with random players, allows flexibility with anyone's gaming style and there is a lot of customization you can do with your character. Granted without the ability to trade items with other players makes it a little harder to obtain some items, it does allow for a more satisfying feeling when you finally find the item that you've been wanting for awhile.

    The game does feature an ingame store but I have yet to find a reason to actually use it. Most if not all of the items available in the store can be found in the game world, and seeing as the majority of content is PVE there really aren't too many things that could be considered overpowered.

    It's a fun game and players should at least give it a chance before looking at the 69 that meta critic has given it.

I began my playtime with Warframe telling myself that I wouldn't spend any money due to the fact that ALL weapons and frames in the game can be acquired through in game currency and crafting, minus slightly up-scaled versions of a few starter weapons for people who help found the game. This philosophy lasted about fifty hours, until I realized that it was going to keep bringing me back. A hundred dollars later I don't regret a thing. Expand

    The game used to be pretty good several years ago, now it's just same blueprint copy paste content every year, more dumb weapons, more dumb and idiotic warframes every year that make no sense.
    Promises on content never delivered as supposed to be.. Content in this game got so out of touch with their own twisted views on what the hell this game even supposed to be. This game is basically dead and Digital Extremes killed it themselves. Not worth playing anymore, you'd just be wasting your time.

    The world is vibrant, colourful and you really feel like you are exploring a future solar system.
    Coop gameplay is really where the game excels. Playing with friends is addictive and fun. I have personally sunk more than 100 hours into such games with my friends and the experience has never gotten old.

    A great game and definitely worth the money.

Shooting fairs much better and it's satisfying to pick off your enemies from afar using the game's large arsenal, whether it be an automatic rifle or a good old fashioned bow. This leads me to my next problem with the game. I know that Digital Extremes has put in considerable effort into making newer environments for the game, however, it still isn't enough. Long range encounters are a rarity and it completely eliminates the need for you to ever touch the sniper rifle. Levels often take place in ships and tight corridors, which is still fun, but when overused in the way that warframe does, after a few sessions the game starts to feel like a grind, and you really get tired of the visuals, which is a shame considering Warframe has beautiful graphics, but it is marred by the repetitive art style and level design. Having said this, it still isn't enough to keep me from playing this game as it offers a great upgrade system of mods for weapons and warframe, as well and satisfying and responsive gunplay, you'll have no regrets jumping into this game, especially since the game is free and the devs are already starting to address the problems I have listed. Two words: 1. Repetitive. 2. Grinding.
    Alot.
    The level design is incredibly boring and you only shoot and slice with your katana/sword/thingy.
    I really did not appreciate this game after 1-2 hours of gameplay. And it took forever to get ANYTHING. Not even a single weapon or upgrade after 2,5 hours gameplay. Not even an item to build.

    Not recommending. But since it's free, try it.

It's also only like 1.2 GB, so the download is fast. Usually games with small downloads have either minimal content, or bad graphics. Not the case here; there's tons of content, and the graphics are actually quite impressive. It looks better in person than the screenshots do, because of all the nice specular effects, reflections, and glowing things.

    Also, you can wall-run, and it doesn't even feel like a cheap anime wall-run. Any game that manages to make wall-running seem serious and realistic deserves cookies.

    Keep in mind, I also enjoyed Rengoku and Dark Souls, two games known for requiring long, difficult persistence to get anywhere meaningful, so this game may seem monotonous to you if you played Dark Souls or Rengoku and thought they were boring.

The leveling system doesn't increase the stats of your gear but instead how many mods you can slot into your equip (and how strong); combined with a low level cap of 30 (for each gear piece), it's easy for new players to jump in while veterans are rewarded with stronger mods. It’s beautiful from loading to menus to actual game play. If it looks like crap to you, get a new pc. It’s extreme sci-fi with laser gun fighting ninjas. Yea, no kidding. I like the over-the-shoulder play style, and the melee is a BLAST! This is because the second best piece of this game is the fluidity in player movement. You can move with basic controls forward, back, left, right, mouse to aim or combine keys for additional moves like sprinting into a slide (which btw, makes you look awesome), jumping on the back of enemies to slit their throats, and even wall-walking. When you start off, you can choose between three ‘classes’ and after a short tutorial, you’re careening through the solar system. The Lotus system is decent, the objective map is helpful, and the enemies aren’t complete morons they’ll duck and hide and move according to where you are and hiding. Not to mention, the upgrade options for your warframe and weapons are simple to use and fun and there’s always blueprints you can find or purchase to build with components you find in certain parts of the system. God dang, there’s too much to say!! There’s clans you can create with your own clan dojo, you can play with friends (up to 4 at a time), solo or join random players. There’s a market to buy and trade stuff and.. and… and…. it’s friggin' ninjas in the future with dyable suits!!! Did I mention this game is free? 100% free? Free to download, free to play, free to level. Paying only speeds up advantages you’ll otherwise find yourself. OH… and it’s run through Steam! cheers!

    What I don’t like about the game: Sometimes the Lotus chick feeding you info is dumb and annoying and tends to repeat the same things map after map. This is a small complaint though, because even if her comments aren’t exactly original, they are helpful and accurate. There is a lot to learn in a short amount of time what storage containers and canisters do, what the objects are for (cuz there’s a crap ton), and dealing with the menus. None of these are deal breakers however, they just require a slight learning curve. The only thing that drives me crazy over this game is the lighting contrast. In some ships it’s meant to be dark and it’s a little difficult to navigate through. But then in training sequences or promotions, the blinding WHITE is painful and most of us (friends included) just sped through it to make the bleeding from our eyeballs stop!

    Would I recommend it: It’s FRIGGIN free!!! What is wrong with you? Login to Steam, search for it and download it. No seriously. NOW. Even if you hate it, it’s worth a try. Please note: It’s currently in Beta and updates frequently, but for a Beta it’s very complete and you won’t give a crap.

    I think the people making this game are a little greedy, The price of platinum is extreme. They need to make the levels playable for 1 player and they need a grouping system to help players meet. I have a few friends on steam but none like this game so I have to find other players playing a level then hope they decide to join with me in the levels i haven't completed. I have a few friends on steam but none like this game so I have to find other players playing a level then hope they decide to join with me in the levels i haven't completed. The level up system takes a while 20 odd hrs playing many levels over and over. Maybe I am not great at the game. I think they need to make the Warframes interact with the AI better too like in Ninja gaiden where you can jump on them. making melee attacks have more flow. I do like the graphics, I do like the gun customization. They should have tutorials or recommendations about how to level up Warframe, rifle, pistol, melee weapon.

    Im not sure on the reward system but maybe Warframes should unlock instead of having to buy platinum play a level of each war frame ???

    Also the menu for weapons should be suited to class, Why have a lvl 4 weapon when im level 2?

    gave it a 7
    maybe 2/10 for price of platinum,
    7/10 for originality
    8/10 graphics
    10/10 for fun (when you find a good group of people to play with)
    7/10 for difficulty
    2/10 for sound effects that lady says the same thing over and over.
    4/10 for level layout. have to do levels over and over.
    0/10 game lobby (where is the game lobby)
    2/10 for tutorial maybe tutorial till you reach level 2 as in make level up easier until players know each element of the game

    This game could be one of the best games but has a few things they need to improve on. Thus i havent yet invested into platinum as the short comings make me want to play other games

    If they fix the issues i mentioned it will be more appealing to players, creating a larger community.

    It looks fancy and shiny, but after you get your eyes adapted to it, it becomes an endless grind.

    Gfx:
    Solid. The optimization for physx sucks, but the game looks amazing without it.

    Audio:
    You could say it's ok. Gun sounds are, often, allright, although most of them just lack the oomph part. Ingame music is like any other. You'll turn it off after a few hours and play your favorite playlist.
    Ambient sounds, like bullet ricochets, doors, elevators, are too quiet.

    Content:
    Apparently, DE thinks quantity>quality. In 2 words, power creep. It just doesn't work.
    In a lot more words,
    The mod system looks intriguing and as if it offers a lot of diversity, but in reality you'll be using the same set of mods for every enemy type and every mission. Basically, there are unused useless mods and mandatory mods.
    When you look at the mission map, you get the feeling you'll have to play a very long time in order to
    experience everything. Wrong. each tileset can be fully experienced, and gotten sick of, within several missions.
    The game offers boss fights! Awesome, right? When majority of the boss mission is running around 1shotting everything with your ubermodded weapon, and then killing a boss vastly inferior to your weapons, it's quite a meh experience.
    The newly added syndicates are yet another example of quantity>quality. 10 "different" factions, that all require the player to do 1 thing : grind mindlessly and endlessly.

    Guns:
    In correlation with previously mentioned power creep, there are uber awesome weapons and there are useless and unfun weapons. It's all fun and games while you're ranking up fun weapons, but run out of fun weapons and it becomes a chore worse than washing the dishes.
    DE isn't doing much to remedy this issue, but rather adding more weapons hoping they'll hit the right note occasionally.

    Grind:Reward ratio
    Grind's not always bad, if you reward the player. This game doesn't do that.
    Currently, there are plans to reward players with a high master rank(a general progress indicator), but it's all just paper.
    The newly added syndicates require such an enormous amount of farming to reach useful rewards that it's a major turn off for casual players.
    RNG drops. When the gods are on your side, it's a fun night, otherwise it's pretty frustrating seeing a weapon part, that you already have 10 of, drop mission after mission.

    Multiplayer factor:
    The game can be played solo, which is good but also says a lot about how much developers are investing in player to player interaction.
    There's the mandatory general chat, trade chat, guild chat, group chat, friends chat. That's it sadly.
    There IS a player hub planned, but seeing the previews, it's not really promising.
    Clans can have their own "dojos", but they end up being large abandoned museums of someone's creativity.
    Oh right, PVP. There IS pvp, but it's a sideshow, and a really bad one.

    The feel:
    First couple mastery levels(namely 8) - "Cool, I'm getting these mastery levels I don't know **** about, while trying out all these fun weapons. I don't care I have no idea what they do, it's cool and awesome."
    Post 8 - "Ugh, yet another **** weapon to level to get mastery up." *checks inventory and sees 20 more rank 0* "yeah, **** it."
    The fact that the game is discouraging use of single equipment a player finds fun, is rather baffling.

    P2W factor:
    The only mandatory platinum market purchases are inventory slots and weapon power ups, called potatoes.(they increase the mod capacity of a weapon by 100%)
    Thankfully they're pretty cheap and the powerups can occasionally be gained on special mission.
    Other than that, everything is attainable through farming, albeit it'll take much longer.

    Summary:
    The game doesn't feel new, but it sure feels fun the first 100 hours. If you don't mind being played a fool with "new" content based on the same principle, grind, you can keep being a positive statistic on their charts.
    The quite positive thing is the nearly non existent P2W factor.
    Basically, if you REALLY have nothing better to play, or have a fetish for ninjas in space, this is the game you can sink your money into. If not, wait for a 50% platinum discount, buy some platinum in the worth of an average indie game, buy inventory slots and kill time. Contrary to what fanbois preach, this is NOT an AAA title.

    The premise is this game is very interesting, you are an assassin that can wear different suits known as "Warframes". These are essentially the different characters that you can play through the game. The gameplay is PvE which resembles Mass Effect 3 multiplayer with Crysis style suits and Diablo style loot drops. Weapons and Warframes in this game can be bought with cash, in game currency, or built. Most weapons and Warframes can be made simply by farming the necessary resources. The progression of the game starts out quite slow as the grind to acquire materials and blueprints get quite tedious.

    Warframe has severe balancing issues regarding the warframes themselves. Some warframes lack utility, while others are overpowered. Weapons also suffer from this same fate. Warframe introduces Mods to weapons, similar to perks in Call of Duty. Mods are also affected by a balance issue.

    Bugs are quite apparent in gameplay and level design, which is to be expected from an open beta game. Warframe still has a lot of kinks which need to be ironed out before it can be a worthy title.

    This game is supported through the purchase of platinum with can be used to purchase warframes and weapons. 75 platinum costs $5 USD, which cannot even cover costly warframes at 325 platinum. A warframe like Rhino for example would cost a ridiculous $20 USD! Platinum prices are too high, and are not competitive enough. I for one will not dump my money into something which rewards with so little value.

    Overall the PvE is not compelling enough and lacks incentive to progress further into the game. Warframes are a hit and miss with some being fun, while others are utterly boring. Warframe does have potential, but expect a long road ahead.

And since I'm writing this at the same time that Destiny 2 is newly released on PC, this game has loads more content and reasons to keep playing that Destiny. The only thing I'd give this game on Destiny 2 is the overall polish and graphics. Besides that, this F2P game blows a triple A title like Destiny 2 out of the water and if anything exposes how complacent the gaming community has become with these huge publishers just recycling assets, slapping a new title on it, adding some micro transactions, and calling it good. The parts where you can use money are for gear that you can build for free with time and energy.
    The gameplay is explained enough through the tutorial to where a fresh beginner can play it casually to understand the basics and still enjoy the game (many top-notch F2P games like DotA 2 struggle in this aspect)
    The story is interesting and the characters likable- even in aspects where the game gets repetitive (at least in my experience...) the game still manages to be very enjoyable (unlike many other top-notch games that focus on repetition... I'm looking at YOU World of Warcraft...). I don't mind slaughtering the same horde of Grineer a few times, I need the materials on the planet and I enjoy the massacre. Sometimes I go just for the genocide.
    Even more fun with friends.
    My only complaint is that I wish there was a 5th slot- my DotA 2 team recommended this game to me but I can't play with the whole team... there's 5 player slots in DotA.

    One of the best games I have ever played and my second favorite game for the PC. (Second only to DotA 2 in terms of my preference.)

When it all began it were a 'simple corridor shooter' and now in 2017 it's still a corridor shooter - but a deeply satisfying and polished upgrade of what emerged with the launch of Playstation 4. Actually, it's more than that. Warframe got a tremendous amount of content in form of deep lore, astounding relations between developers and fanbase, with user generated content which is managed in a great way, a vast blend of objectives, quests, frames (essentially characters), an enormously satisfying grinding, looting and farming for stuff. And its in game economy is unheard of - yes, you'll find micro transactions - but it's literally the opposite path of actual trading and relic farming that's the beauty of it. The game is free and all high-end gear can be farmed with great satisfaction or traded between players in a working, mature ingame-economy.
    So, why aren't everyone playing Warframe? I believe that when most picked it up, that is Year 1, the game still remained in a simple alpha-state, and now - get this - it's in beta and on par with AAA-titles. The only current flaw is that the entity of the game in its current state is so deep and overwhelming for new players that it can be hard to just get in there and wing it. Fortunately Warframe got one of the most supportive players ever, eager to explain stuff to newcomers. I picked up the game last year and, with a short break for Destiny 2, actually kept on playing - and I still learn things from it. If you're intrigued by this, I highly recommend to go on Youtube and watch one of the many introduction-videos. And while you're doing that, I also recommend that you start downloading it, and that you start playing it because it's a hidden gem in plain sight. Free-to-play. Hard to stop playing it.
    Development is constantly evolving. And fast. The latest addition is the open-world Plains of Eidolon, which is available very early in the game, and it's huge. This is very appealing to some, former Destiny players mainly, but the action in the game as a whole will surely take you by surprise once you start trying it out for yourself. Simple corridor running or not.

    Reviews should be rewritten by the press. Your actions have consequences.

    This game is one of the most outstanding and breathtaking games i've ever played, This deserves more attention and a much higher score on metacritic dew to how much it has changed in the 4 years since this review was made. The game has such an amazing lore to every thing in it and the quests are just perfect.

    Game Review – Warframe
    Plot – Warframe follows an ongoing narrative of the development of an evolved generation of humanity: the Tenno. The initial quest doesn’t actually inform you of any backstory, leaving the origin behind the Warframes and Tenno a mystery. It’s not until the quest “The Second Dream” we actually begin to discover the mechanics behind the Warframes and where the Tenno came from. It begins by introducing one of the main antagonists in the game: Hunhow. He appears to be talking to an army of Sentients (whom are native to the Void – an alternative universe which is set in the past during a time known as the Orokin Era), whom are plotting the annihilation of the Tenno in a highly intriguing avalanche of events.
    Controls – Featuring customisable controls, Warframe consists of a very easy to learn combat system – also including many different combos you can choose to modify your weapons with. Although it can be difficult to newbies, grasping an idea of how to craft, initiate missions and how to effectively modify weapons can be easily developed – and if you have too much trouble modifying, there is an ‘Automatic’ option that will create the most efficient build it can for your Warframe; however in my experience, I have never found this helpful as different Warframes will require different kinds of mods and polarities to fully optimise their power, stealth and defence.
    About – As of 06/10/2017, there are 34 diverse and unique Warframes to choose from – 18 of those having a prime counterpart whom is superior, featuring more polarised spots for greater modification and increased stats; as well as a pretty pimped out look.
    The game has outstanding voice actors and active developers, constantly making bug fixes and doing giveaways on YouTube – as well as constantly updating the game and keeping the users updated. However, nicknamed as “Bugframe” by the users, Warframe can often have small bugs – sometimes ruining a mission, but most of the time they can be harmless or just plain annoying; but taking into consideration the fact that these bugs are quickly resolved and that this is indeed an early access game, these bugs can easily be overlooked when comparing them to the gameplay.

    In my experience, the main pros and cons include:
    PROS:
    • Highly customisable pets and warframes.
    • Great detail and graphics.
    • Amazing story line: If you’re into Lore, everything fits together well.
    • Great voice actors.
    • Many different tasks and challenges to do when you’ve got nothing else to do.
    • 100+ different modifications.
    • Easy to learn controls and combos.
    • Diverse warframes: there’s something for everybody, may it be stealth or chaos.
    • Create clans or join one for help and advice, these clans generally have great communities.
    • Active mods and bots to answer your questions.
    • Runs smoothly.
    • Frequently updated.
    • Not Pay-To-Win.

    CONS:
    • Viable to crashes and bugs: not often but can happen.
    • Missions are repetitive.
    • A lot of grinding.
    • A lot of bugs.
    • Bugs.

Combine that with the "gotta catch 'em all" mentality that is collecting and playing with all the weapons and warframes possible, and you will lose many many hours to this game.

    Rewards come to those who persevere, Tenno. One of the few games that lets me drop in and out for quick things if I don't have much time or I can spend an afternoon amassing more fortune in order to turn around and spend it all.

    However, Warframe still has yet to polish its new player experience, which holds the game back. A proper intro and tutorial are needed badly for any future expansion of its playerbase. As of now, getting started is the most difficult part of Warframe.

Its fast-paced co-op combat and huge + easy horizontal progression with abundant equipment drops is exactly what I needed after years of slow MMORPG raids, months of farming with zero to none rewards shared between 10-40 people, exhausting PvP combat. So - pros:

    nice graphics combined with somewhat low hardware requirements;

    very fun co-op combat;

    a lot of different game modes, different types of enemies, different difficulty modes;

    interesting and easy progression scheme, nearly endless;

    abundant loot drops + a lot of easily accessible equipment (don't have to farm it for months);

    cheap in-game currency (for $25 you can buy almost every interesting prime frame);

    interesting setting and storyline;

    decent economy scheme without any traces of inflation;

    very nice auto-grouping scheme combined with healthy population result in minimal waiting time for group runs;

    PvP is available and its balanced.

    Cons:

    to progress you have to play "characters" (frames) and equipment you don't like - for many weeks till MR12;

    character isn't a human thus cannot be customized beyond armor colors (i.e. no faces) so there will be no emotional link;

    warframe (character) type is strictly linked to visual appearance;

    not enough introductory quests for existing content;

    lack of marketplace, strange direct player trading scheme (though it works nonetheless);

    game is somewhat buggy.

    Overall it's surprisingly good game, well beyond my expectations.

The great thing is that if you chose to abandon mission you will still get the items you picked up. You can spend money to get the stuff you want quicker i'm not going to judge that. But when you can be like some amazing gamers and earn them it makes it all worth more. At the beginning of the game I can understand why you would spend money to get what you want but later when special events happen. Which can get you to buy the most expensive person after you do a few of the missions and wait. When you put in the time on a video game you will have the greatest items, gear, mods, e.t.c all being in Warframe Now please notice that Warframe is still in BETA so it's not perfect but still fun. The last thing I will say is that the game will be most fun when you play with friends you can communicate with while playing. I used to solo the game got bored within a few days then stopped for a long time then friends came in I started playing again some new stuff pretty great stuff and I didn't get bored. Every person I've shown this game to is completely hooked. Now I don't know how well this will play in the long term. The progression of everything is very slow and there is an element of grinding. There is limited amount of weapons and suits but it takes so long to earn them it does make it a little bit of a tedious grind. The variation in suits and weapons makes it worth the effort in spending the time getting that extra weapon.

    Grinding is actually fun with your friends and though there are a wide variety of types of missions it does still seem to need more. Long term I can't see myself playing more than 100-200 hours but they will be spectacular hours. Plenty of flair and fun.

    Pros:
    -Menus, your ship is the menu, it is gorgeous
    -Insane customization of stats and builds and weapons
    -Community of people who (statistically) welcome, encourage, and teach
    -Gorgeous graphics (when everything is cranked to max)
    -Cash shop isn't needed to progress or enjoy a thing
    -Mowing down waves of enemies that aren't too bright is pretty relaxing and fun
    -New Warframes (at lvl 30) really bring about different ways of playing

    Cons
    -RNG, the "endgame" gear is all about grinding out challenging (but repetitive) missions for the low % chance of the items you actually need appearing
    -Certain aspects just aren't finished (Archwing, its melee/gun Star Fox, but gorgeous) which can leave certain modes/areas feeling shallow
    -PC controls for wall running/jumping rather clunky for a "Space Ninja Simulator"
    -Stealth, its not a working system in the game, its rather frustrating and slow to try and only stealth through a level, the current system isn't built for it

    Is it the best overall game you've played? No.
    Is it fun to relax after work and mow down hordes with your friends? Yes.

First off, you don't need to shell out extra cash to get the proper experience. Additionally, it does not suddenly reset every handful years.The most important thing, however, is that they get MMO design right. Farming is deliberate, missions are varied, abilities are significant, builds are intricate, fashion is expressive, and trading is rewarding; all basic MMO design principles that Warframe gets so right, and Destiny gets so wrong.

    To top it all off, the narrative is on par with the best of the Star Wars franchise. The game starts slow, but trust me, stick it out until you awaken from the second dream. You'll know what that means when you get there; elaborating would be a huge spoiler; and if that doesn't finally hook you, feel free to move on.

The levels are a finite number and the goal of the game as well. Mix this up and there is still plenty of variety.

On top of this, not paying comes with several more time gates that range from a few hours to a full day (three days if you want to construct warframes) that totally halt all progression from planet to planet until the clock ticks down *or* you break out your wallet. And the prices on platinum are a downright swindle for what you get unless you get a rare, RNG-based 75% off coupon as your daily login reward, the rest of which may as well just say "Sorry, come back again tomorrow!"

    Too many people give this game a pass by saying "Oh, but it's free to play, they have to make money somehow!" or "Oh, but you can trade for platinum, so stop complaining and just get to work!" Sorry, that's not a good enough argument to defend game mechanics that fundamentally are designed to coax anyone who has to suffer through them to just pay a few bucks and make the pain stop. EA wouldn't get a pass for this, neither should DE.

    That said, I can tell how much passion DE has put into this game. There are dozens of warframes, which act as the game's classes, and each of them plays significantly different. Weapons are varied and unique, and each one requires a different playstyle and mod setup to make work. Some warframes, like Frost, excel at area denial and crowd control, making them a game-changer in defensive modes, others, like Nekros, make farming items less of a hassle by giving you double the loot, and still others, such as Octavia, support their team through abilities that grant buffs while also being quite a hindrance to enemy forces.

    In the end, simply removing the practically harassing for payment arbitrary time gates that prevent basic progression from planet to planet (and artificially limit the rate at which someone can level up) would stack another two points onto my score. Fixing the many bugs I've experienced where the objective becomes unable to be completed, being able to fall out of the map without it transporting you back as it so happily loves to do if you so much as risk a fall, matchmaking freaking out and piling players together without the mission starting until you fiddle around with it, movement while not aiming being extremely jittery and awkward when moving backwards, and enemies teleporting around the map due to broken animations (not the effects of lag - lag just makes it that much worse), among many others, mixed with the removal of the aforementioned timegates would make this game a perfect 10. You know, it's kind of a shame this game is strictly free to play. It forces DE to implement such oppressive systems in order to make as much money off of as many people as they possibly can.

While you might be thinking well then what the hell? let me tell you this game has ton to offer and is not in the slightest a P2W game i can without a doubt guarantee that EVERYTHING IN THE GAME CAN BE OBTAINED FOR FREE!!!!! With the exception of a few cosmetic items in the store but they do you absolutely no good for improving you character other than making him look cool. Now a few people are probably gonna try and call me a liar for saying that which I'll find really funny. for one Prime gear not only is it nothing more than a cosmetic improvement to your weapons and Warframes can be obtained for free from doing a specific void mission. Now that's another thing to those saying you have to pay to get good stuff that's not at all true paying money on gear actually does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO MAKE YOU STRONGER. In fact chances you'll find someone with the exact same piece of gear and they most likely got it for free from their clan hall or buying in the store with the game money.

    Now for the graphics which are amazing by the way this game makes even some of the ps4 and Xbox one games look bad while there are like always a few annoying bugs like enemies spawning in the walls on occasion none of them are that bad(the one i mentioned is probably the worst one).

    The game is being constantly updated with new content even two years later the community is growing constantly and very friendly, and id give the support for this game a 10/10 they are extremely helpful as well. I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you download and join in the fun asap! Especially since this is one one of the few truly F2P games out there, I mean i can't think of any ps4/xbox one quality game that is truly free unlike this one its truly a masterpiece! Please give this game a try as soon as you can i can promise you, you won't be disappointed in the slightest! oh I can't forget you can parkour in this game as well! :D

    Warframe has come a long way since its release in 2013 and almost every aspect has been improved and developed over the years. For a free to play game the quality and effort put into it shows, from the visual appearance, fun game play, and amazing community keep bringing players back. If you have not tried it (Or haven't played it recently) give it a go.

    Feels a bit soul-less and monotonous, What's the goal? What am I playing this for?

    It's not even that fun, the quests are odd and the combat is repetitive. You either play on your own or spend 30 mins searching for someone to play with, then they either do the whole ting for you or visa versa

    I have played this game for maybe two years, then distanced myself, then came back because of a friend who wanted to play together (and then didn't even show up, the *****!) and now am off again.
    The good: it's an incredibly varied cooperative multiplayer with solid and fun mechanics. You can pick between a ridiculous number of different warframes, the titular power armors, each one with four different powers. While in Destiny you have three boring classes with very little to differentiate them from one another, in Warframe the designer's fantasy runs rampant and the powers are daringly different, creating extremely varied mechanics. Same goes for the hundreds of available weapons. So you grind and grind and don't get bored because you try something different every time, aided by the effort by Digital Extremes to constantly add new content, new material, new challenges.
    It's not pay to win: while investing at least a bit of money is advisable to purchase equipment slots, you just need to wait for a 75% discount, that is randomly distributed maybe once a month or so, and invest little more than 20$ to be set for the rest of the game. You can also sell equipment to other players if you really don't want to invest real money, but I have nothing against supporting the developers for their good work, and I also use platinum (the purchasable currency) to reduce grinding in some instances. You can also buy warframes and weapons for outrageous prices, but it's much better to do the related missions and earn them instead; not only they cost a premium, but you also miss the fun: what are you playing for? All in all, a totally fair earning model, IMO.
    The bad: most missions are mindless, old-school shootouts, where you confront thousands of enemies who keep spawning all around you. Forget about taking cover or tactically conquer an area piece by piece: you jump and zip left and right at light speed, shooting everything that moves - and everything that doesn't, just to be on the safe side. If you stay still for one second, you're probably dead, and tactics only lie in the way you use your powers and combine them with your allies'. There are inventive warframes, with tactical powers that would be great to use in a game like Deus Ex, but are essentially useless in this mindless frag fest. There are infiltration missions that aim to implement a different approach, but most people hate them - for a reason.
    There's so much material, so many different things to do, that you can be hooked for months or even years without getting bored, especially if you try to discover things on your own rather than just read the Wiki, but the gameplay always remains simplistic and repetitive.

    I started playing warframe back in 2014, took a 2 1/2 year break before oming back to it (the PoE update brought me back). The game has changed significantly, the mechanics that bugged me in the past were pretty much gone i.e. stamina, clunky movements, etc.

    [/b] FOUNDRY (item building) [/b]
    So Warframe has a mobile game style item build system that makes you wait for the item to be complete (It gives you the option of "rushing" the build so it is done instantly, The "Rush" is done with Platinum).

    There are 2 main currencies in Warframe, Credits and Platinum.

    [/b] CREDITS [/b]
    Credits are obtained through killing enemies, finishing missions etc. and act as the basic currency for many of the in-game actions.

    [/b] PLATINUM [/b]
    Platinum is obtainable by micro-transactions, (and it is not worth it in my opinion). However, you can earn platinum easily through trading.
    The are “Prime” parts/blueprints that drop from relics which are awarded to you in certain missions, an easy way to “farm” platinum would be to play a bunch of missions with good relic drops, play fissure missions to open the relics, go to trade chat or a relay and tell everyone what you are selling for how much platinum (Do your research on the market for prices or ask a veteran in chat)
    Note: It is easier to sell items if they are in a set i.e.
    Soma Prime Set would include:
    -Soma Prime Barrel
    -Soma Prime Receiver
    -Soma Prime Stock
    -Soma Prime Blueprint
    (when on the trade chat you can type: “WTS [Soma Prime] set 200p”) (as of Oct 2017, they may change formatting)
    Through this method I have earned an approx. 2500 platinum by selling sets.

    Also, avoid buying normal frames/ weapons with platinum (especially If they have a prime variant, Check online about how to get its blueprints/parts, the wiki is a great place to do so. As for Prime variants, they are mostly cheaper to buy than their normal ones with plat (some *vaulted ones are going for crazy high prices so avoid those) viz. Nekros is 375 plat on the market and he is a pain to farm, you need to fight lephantis over and over again in the orokin derelict assassinate mission, so that’s 2 layers of farming + RNG. As of 13 Oct 2017 Ive seen Nekros PRIME on sale in the trade chat for only 100- 105 plat.
    *Vaulted = Removed from the relic drop table, so they are no longer accessible through normal farming

    [/b] PAY TO WIN? [/b]
    No, all items are accessible without spending a single cent, some items can be acquired with a little farming, whilst others take a **** long time. Warframe is an excellent game for those of you who love grinding/farming missions.

    The only things behind paywalls are cosmetics, if you consider FashionFrame (cosmetic customisation without gameplay impacts) the endgame, then Warframe is Pay2Win obviously.

    With the exception of conclave, which is a small part of the game, everything is PVE, all of you are working towards a common goal, so any advantage would be on your side.

    The main issue (a minority of new players I’ve talked to mentioned this) is that some players have weapons/frames so effective that the rest of the team doesn’t get to do anything while he kills everything on the map [/strike] (I’m looking at you post-rework Limbo >:( ) [/strike]
    This is something that happens sometimes, you can avoid that by playing solo or with friends, if you have no friends like me, join an active clan, find squad mates of similar equipment level as you and go ham, farm that frame you want.

    [/b] PRIME ACCESS [/b]
    I have purchased prime access before, its worth it if you want to experience the game’s new content without having to farm for them. If you have disposable income and you spend most of your days working without much time to play, prime access would be good for you.
    The additional Plat that comes with it is a bonus in my eye, pamper your warframe with the latest syandana and armor sets.

    [/b] MODDING [/b]
    I have barely gotten all of the rarer mods desired by many players, so I can’t really speak in full confidence about this, but with the limited mods I have right now, every weapon has millions of possible effects and outputs depending on what you put onto it.
    This is the part of warframe I enjoy the most (Aside from fishing in the plains).

    [/b] CINEMATIC STORY-DRIVEN MISSIONS [/b]
    Warframe is a fast paced space-ninja-shoot-everything-that-moves game for most of its playtime, but there are good “cinematic quests” in Mid-Game, (The Second Dream and The War Within)which are pretty good, I’ll stop here to I don’t spoil anything.

    [/b] Bonus stuff: [/b]

    - There are cats and doggos in the game - You can spearfish - There’s Fishing in the game - You can catch fish [/b] Final rating: Excalibur Prime/10 [/b] p.s. counter opinions, corrections and memes are greatly appreciated.

    Warframe does offer Micro transactions and has a premium currency called plat but unlike other games they are not exploitative when compared to the loot boxes of AAA developers. If you see something you want you can get that item no random chance involved. But at no point does this game make you feel like you have to buy anything with your real world money. You can even sell some in game items for plat to get those items that do cost it.
    Warframe receives free updates that could be called expansions. Digital extremes is always adding more tenno and lately have been creating amazing open world maps and coming soon is Star wars battlefront 2 the good one not the new Dice disappointment space battles like missions
    The story is very interesting and engaging and still being written with new updates.

    - Bad story-missions that was not balanced correctly where you die way to much as the player and some Story-missions (which you bought with the in-game resources) have ridiculous timers where your mission can fail at all.

    - NPC's can kill you under 1 second although you are invisible!(Loki Prime with Hushed Invisibility mod)

    - Hunting/Catching animals in Orb Vallis or in Plains of Eidolon is a complete disappointment because you are getting 90% of your time disturbed by enemy NPC's.

    Big positives:
    - A free 2 play game.
    - Opening relicts to sell Platinum or to get your Prime things to build.
    - A big choice of weapons to build and many mods to equipt.

This is due to the games deep systems and mechanics which can be very daunting on sight and even as a player with two hundred plus hours it takes a lot to learn all the systems. It is an absolute requirement if you want to play this game to watch third party videos to assist in learning the systems which isn't necessarily a bad thing but may be unattractive to new player. This can result in new players quickly being overwhelmed and leaving the game. BUT once you begin to delve deeper learning the systems the game has so many possibilities which allows for many hours to be put into the game while still enjoying it. This point is only furthered by the constant support from the game by the developers which always has a flow of new content.

    Of course you cant forget the games main mechanics its combat and movement. The combat in the game feels very smooth allowing you slaughter hundreds of enemies at a time while not remaining to easy as the games stronger enemies the spawn on occasion still can prove to be a challenge. The melee combat is very fast and a bit jerky, personally i enjoy this because you can still tear through many enemies. Many of the melee weapons also have alternate actions such as being thrown or shields. Movement is an outstanding mechanic in this game and I could go as far to say it is the most fun mechanic in the game. The game allows for many modes of movement but primarily movement in your warframe allows for large leaps and spins as well as wall jumps. These leaps and such allow for you to gain momentum and hold it which feels great as you zoom through the levels and the landscapes of the open world areas.

    Another positive about this game is you can continue to play through the entirety of the game with no cost. But the option to pay for premium currency is always there if you wish to speed up the gameplay or buy other cosmetics although these microtransactions can be quite expensive. I feel they have implemented this system very well as I have never felt pressured to spend money but rather have wanted because I enjoy the games elements.

    This is all complimented by the games great style of graphics. Most of the time the games graphics have a bleak moody feel which fits the missions in the game incredibly well on most planets. This also is the catalyst for contrasting warframes against the environment as players are able to customize their colours.

    Overall this game is fantastic although daunting and is great to sink the occasional hours in or even better to play often and especially with friends. If you don't mind games where you have to grind hard to progress further but with a feeling of satisfaction after each step forward this game could be for you.

I have sank over 700 hours of playtime on this game and the game still offers me a lot of things to do. In this review I’ll be breaking down the pros and cons of the game.

    ======================================================================
    PROS
    1.) THE GAMEPLAY : EASY TO LEARN, HARD TO MASTER.

    The missions in this game have simple objectives like killing enemies and defending objectives, which anyone with a couple of hours can get a grasp on. But the difficulty will ramps up as you progress. So after playing for a while, you will discover movements option like bullet-jumping, aim gliding, and sliding. Which can be used to create strategies. There will also be upgrades that you will encounter like Mods, Companion, Buff, and Arcane. So the system gets pretty complicated and thus hard to master.

    2.) THE STORY : COMPLEX AND EVOLVING.

    Most of the story of WARFRAME is not given directly to the player via the main quest. But rather hidden details scattered across the game. The main quest only tells you what the gist of the story is about but if you want to truly understand the WARFRAME universe, you have to make theories and connection on your own. And there is no right or wrong theory because the story is still going after 9 years since the game launches.

    3.) THE GRAPHICS : BEAUTIFUL WITH GOOD PERFORMANCE.

    The visuals in this game is just phenomenal, not just because it is beautiful but also how the developer really pay attention to details. My favorite place in this game is Fortuna, a small Corpus colony located on the cold surface of Venus. The place is full of futuristic lights and robot which directly represents the Corpus faction as a whole. The best part of the graphics is that it only requires a mid-end GPU to run.
    I am currently using a 1050 TI for my graphics card and I can easily play on the highest settings with smooth 60 frames per second.

    4.) THE COMMUNITY : KIND AND WHOLESOME

    This game by far has the most kind and welcoming community I have ever witness. Most of the interaction I have with other players are really good. To prove my point, you could literally go into the game and ask any question inside the regional chat and I guarantee you that someone will answer you within 20 seconds. Toxicity in this game is very uncommon, In my time of playing I’ve only met 2 or 3 toxic player.

    5.) THE MONETIZATION : REALLY FREE TO PLAY.
    With every free to play game, comes microtransaction. This is no exception to WARFRAME. However premium currency in this game can be earned by simply trading items with other player. For me I have earned over 20$ worth of platinum by just flipping in-game items. So no one is really at a disadvantage in this game in my opinion.

    ======================================================================
    CONS
    1.) FEATURE CREEP : TOO MANY THINGS TO DO

    The updates to this game usually adds more content to the game, which is not necessary a bad thing. But after a while these content piles up to the point that there are just so much to do. These new content sometimes completely make old feature obsolete but the developer doesn’t realize this and kept adding new things without clearing the pile.

    2.) GRINDY : REPETITIVE MISSIONS

    The gameplay of this game can be repetitive after sometimes which makes the game boring. Lately, the developer also likes to lock new content behind a “grind wall” which basically means that in order to get to experience these new contents, you would have to spend lots of time doing the same thing. This can be a big no no for most casual player.

    ======================================================================
    CONCLUSION
    If you like action RPG game with huge amounts of content and don’t mind the steep learning curve, you should give this game a try. But If you don’t want to grind and spend time learning different concept of the game then you should look for another game. Overall, a solid 8/10.

Anything else will be dealing with people who ignore objectives, yet blame you for losses.
    As an example of some of the grind, you will run across items with an official .1% drop rate in only very specific circumstances. The devs felt farming these circumstances for this astonishingly rare mods were too common, so they further limited the opportunities of this circumstances occurring.
    Useless content gets taped on, and players pushed to utilize it. In a game about being a mercenary/ninja-assassin that uses 2 spaceships and a jetpack, you get pushed to learn to use a glorified skateboard. A skateboard that glitches you repeatedly into the ground, locking guns up and preventing you from continuing the mission. Meet the K-Drive, the nightmare of combat-loving players.
    Now, they advertise options, but to access these options you need slots. Slots need platinum, platinum needs real $$$. Grinding for the pieces of each item in a broken rng system isn't enough, they want you to pay to use the content. Cosmetics, understandable. Core content? I'd say "May your test server crash", but the devs don't test...

    Let's start with the good things first, because this game does have a few. It's a nice idea; I've always wanted to be a ninja in deep space. The ability to craft stuff is good too, and the level design, aesthetically at least, is rather well done.

    Now to the bad things, and strap yourselves in, because there are lots and lots of critical flaws.

    Let's start with the aesthetic, or lack thereof; this game, even on the highest settings, looks awful. Half the time I didn't know what I was looking at.

    The sound design is terrible. The guns do not feel like guns in anyway, and the voice acting is practically criminal.

    The level design is linear, cramped and doesn't explore the main mechanic of the game being a ninja. Please tell me how I am supposed to be a ninja in the corridor of a spaceship? You better get used to it too, because the levels are pretty much corridor, room, corridor, room, corridor, with no variation inbetween.

    On the topic of the guns, none of them have any recoil, or anything, really. There's not really much reason to use anything else other than reading the stats and deciding which of the only slightly different weapons you prefer.

    The UI is probably one of the worst I've seen since ArmA II. I spent about an hour figuring out how to craft, and still to this day, I have not worked it out.

    The game is far too easy. I am roughly five hours in and I still have not received anything close to a challenge. This is reinforced by the all the enemies having severe mental defects. There are two types of AI, the ones that run straight at you, and the ones that stand in the same place and shoot you.

    The game also has one of the worst transaction models I've seen. You get two starting characters. Want another? Sure. £20, please. A weapon? £5.

    The whole "ninja" thing is clunky and not well designed, many a time did I find myself stuck to a locker in a corridor full of enemies. Luckily for me, the enemies seem to just be using BB guns.

    Warframe is bad game. Some people will say "Oh, it's still in beta, it's allowed to be bad". It's not, it's allowed to be bad if bugs are breaking it, but the core gameplay mechanics are. It's worth nothing more than to get the trading cards on Steam, and then just leaving it to rust away.

Moving on, warframe is kind of the sweet spot for me and I am guessing a lot of gamers. First off having a coop only game was a pretty bold move and I would say it's a resounding success, so kudo's for that. While this game does make you wonder how cool pvp would be it still stands, imo, solidly as it is. I love so far how the game unfolds and how you slowly discover abilities of the warframe as you gain familiarity especially as regards advanced wallrunning and combat. Last night I realized I could power up my main abilities by fusing mods so I torqued up a sprint mod and got in a higher lvl mission with some more experienced players. I was flying through the objectives doing crazy wall running trying to keep up with these guys who knew all the shortcuts.. So much fun, being a space ninja has never been this badass. The art style is reminiscent of manga, but in a good way, because some manga is terri-bad. There is a nice diversity of warframes, weapons and playstyles available which should keep things interesting for some time. Also new content like dojos, clan structering, etc.. is in the works. The f2p model is working for me so far though expect to grind for new stuff which instead of buying outright you buy a blueprint for and then find crafting materials on missions to create content in your foundry, a main menu crafting screen.
    The high pointsfor me here are the slick art direction and music, space ninja theme in a variety of deadly flavors(stealth to hulk) and rpg elements that hardcore gamers crave. I don't knowk, games tend to all go stale on me after two months so if I at least get that I'm happy and I expect too. Play this game!

    It looks nice at first, all the ninja, enemies and all that stuff (from a design perspective) it's actually pretty awesome. But the game itself is boring, lackluster and a huge grind fest. Also, it promotes into oblivion all the Nvidia Crap PhysX so it is a no go for AMD users (making the game like it's holding out on features on purpose and leaves an empty space).

    The ONLY downside to this game is that there are a lot of people in the community that like to complain, but if you can get passed that, you get to play a solid, well polished game, that looks more like a triple A game than a indie game.

    On a side note, I find it irritating that this game has a review already, and the only somewhat valid reason this game has a rating is that they are selling in game products, but that is easily shot down when you take into consideration other games being pre-ordered, and green-light games.

    If anything, give this game a try. Decide for yourself by doing a little research at the Warframe wiki while you play. You aren't wasting anything but time since its a F2P.

Not to mention that if you want to get to late game, there are certain items that are gatekeepers to the late game that you have to -buy- with money just to proceed into the game. Or you have to wait for them to do a livestream and MAKE a special alert for said items.

    This game is good for a small time frame, but it sadly just does not hold my attention. If want to grind for items, I'll play an MMORPG that actually rewards you for something that's impactful rather than farming for a new skin of something that already exists.

    Hope this helps.

    I couldn't get into the art, the story is sub par compared to what's out there. The missions are a repeat, rehash...and get pretty boring fairly quickly. The parkuor stuff was neat, but they don't expand on it's gameplay at all.

    And the ai feels dated by roughly ten years.

    I feel not much thought was put into this game other than the store items...

    Well it is a great game... at first, the issue is it gets very boring very quickly. Repetitive levels and missions that usually consist of going to a location doing something and getting out whilst hacking everything in your path to bits as you do so. It has no real story no sense of achievement just mindless hack and slash and if that's what you look for in a game go for it, after all it is free.

You could pretty much walk through enemies and bosses and laugh at how easy they die. The levels, bar some variations are pretty much the same and enemies variation is lacking to say the least. The loot, which we all love and cherish is uninspired and boring. It basically consists of the same weapons plans and mods with no variations to power. The game could have inspired itself from random loot generation in the likes of Diablo and Borderlands, but decided otherwise. This pretty much means everyone has the same weapons, the same mods and the same warframes which in my opinion provides no attachment to the character or sense of character uniqueness to the player. Last but not least is the cash shop. While I got a bundle at -75% steam summer sale, the normal prices are just too steep for any player. In addition, the only access to platinum (the currency used to purchase weapons and warframes directly, i.e. without crafring) is through the cash shop, contrary to some other f2p games where it is possible to gain small amount of the coveted currency through challenges or as rewards for difficult content.
    All in all, it is a good game to try and the free to play model should be incentive enough to try it out. But I would not spend more time on it since its novelty wears down pretty quickly.

    What you get: (after 2 years)
    -100+ Missions sharing . . .
    -only 5 Maps with extremely repetitive map layout
    -few gamemodes with the objective to kill all or defend and kill all
    -a very very very bad AI, best at not killing you
    -quiet bad game sound, most of us players have Warframe muted
    -long loading & connecting times between missions (SSD & 8-core)
    -lag, due to player hosted at every time
    -30fps or lower due to the extremely bad optimised “Evolution Engine” (GTX 970)
    -and a game being in beta for 2 years, only getting worse -> most importantly more PAY2WIN.

    Digital Extreme: Ninjas Play Free!
    Players: Cool. Well it took me 5 hours but now I got this blueprint for my second weapon, what do I do with it?
    Digital Extreme: (Grins) First you farm a lot for the resources then you’re going to wait 12 more hours for it to finish. OR you buy the weapon in the market for 5€ only.
    Players: Oh okay, ill craft it overnight then. (night passes) Wait, now it says I don’t have enough inventory space for it, what can I do? And what about Warframes?
    Digital Extreme: Pay us.

    I know, to make something it takes money, or passion. They have enough money, easily – but have no idea how to make a game – good. Grindfest =/= Fun. They don’t listen to the community. They nerf and delete things we liked, worked ingame and implement things we never need or asked. The Devs ignore even the simplest requests. I have yet to see a more arrogant bunch of developers.

    No lore, you can fantasize about it, but there is none.
    No quests, you can call your missions quests if you want, that’s what the developers do.
    No endgame, you read right, no endgame. Just the same missions and enemies all over again.

    But the best (worst) part about the game is the progression (experience) mechanic. Using your cool stuff to level up sounds really good, but not in Warframe. I wont go into details but I can say to use your weapon/warframe you have to level it to 30. Which takes many hours!
    Digital Extreme: But wait, you can buy boosters to level quicker! And a catalyst to make it 60 (not just 30)!

    That’s basically what you (cant) hear but see everywhere in the whole game. Pay us & grind free.
    I discussed a lot with people why Warframe has such a high user scoring on “Metacritic” and we came to the point it’s because about the first few hours, it looks good, many weapons, warframes and a lot to do.

    Every update just includes more weapons MUCH more to grind, just to level them and throw away afterwards, nothing fun. There are no improvements, no engine fixes, no nothing. You spam 1 key ingame and win.

    It is addicting somewhat somehow (at first), you want more, better weapons, the best actually! 50 hours of grind is enough and you will have access to everything ingame. And that’s exactly the point you realize how much time you wasted and now that you finally have your weapon - there’s nothing more.

Sure, you get to know to to move and kill enemies but that's it, some commands are not explained (like changing weapons, even though the tutorial *asks* you to do it, not even a "this key by default" prompt) the missions are not explained, the forge is not explained and neither are the mods. If the missions were easy to understand, it wouldn't be a problem but how you're supposed to know that, in order to capture a target (which you're ordered not to kill at any cost) you have to *shoot* it
    The game is pretty, I'll give it that, it's smooth, runs well and I will admit that the slick look of the warframes and the cooperative side of it is what got me to try. The cooperative is more "free for all" than real cooperation, with people rushing in to get the goods before the others.

    Play Warframe. Play it for more than a few hours, preferably with friends, and keep an open mind into doing some third-party research to straighten out some of these systems. Warframe takes so much of what makes ARPG’s addictive, and rounds it out with more polish and depth than most its competitors on the current games market. If the hooks aren’t deeply embedded by then, maybe something this in-depth isn’t for you.
