Ultimately it feels like an interesting engine where they decided to substitute a money sucking Skinner box for any depth of strategy. Pretty disappointing, but to be fair, you can definitely get an hour or two of fun toying around with some interesting mechanics before it overstays its welcome, and by that time, it will have earned its free price tag.
