A rock solid RTS.
-
One of the better RTS games we’ve played that at least tries to avoid the clichés that have riddled this genre for so long. Kudos goes to the developers, if not huge profits.
-
This is a worthwhile RTS that deserves more than to be upstaged by higher profile games, neither of which has battle zeppelins.
-
The only major issue I had with the game was the inability to garrison units inside buildings. While the title may bring more similarities than innovation to the genre, it is certainly a high-quality offering with a solid multiplayer portion and excellent replay value.
-
All in all, if you enjoy a good RTS and are looking for a unique take on the tired WWII genre, War-Front Turning Point is worth the purchase price and your valuable time.
-
Sure, it’s more burger and fries than filet mignon. But it’s a really good burger and fries.
-
AceGamezA fine real-time strategy game that fans of the genre should gain plenty of enjoyment from, despite adding little that's new to the genre, other than an original alternate history scenario that makes for some distinct and memorable units to command.
-
PC FormatLack of sparkling originality aside, Warfront is an enjoyable game. [May 2007, p.62]
-
While the game is fun, I've still found myself wanting to play other titles that are out and about right now that offer a bit more.
-
What may be one of the year’s sleeper surprises, though, is the way in which War Front: Turning Point picks and combines elements from all these franchises, presenting a final product that ultimately incites the senses.
-
PC GamerWar Front is a solid and entertaining game, though far less original than it purports to be. [May 2007, p.62]
-
Unfortunately, the number of players in multiplayer is small.
-
A pretty fun RTS with some interesting units and story elements. However, the game still ends up being a little derivative and runs together with a lot of other titles in the genre.
-
War Front: Turning Point is a decidedly different take on the WWII real-time strategy game, complete with jetpack Nazis and freeze rays.
-
War Front: Turning Point never tries to reinvent the wheel – it simply does a good job of mimicking the conventions of real-time strategy games that have come before it and puts it into a very comfortable setting.
-
War Front: Turning Point won’t turn the RTS world on its ear, but if you’re looking for an RTS in the traditional mold you should take it for a spin.
