May 14, 2015VoidExpanse isn't a two-dimensional version of Elite: Dangerous or Star Citizen, not by a long shot. If you want an immersive space opera adventure that you can lose yourself in, you won't find that experience here...Instead, it offers a much simpler and lighthearted journey through space, focused on action, with some narrative fluff to act as padding, and with a couple of more fleshed-out quest lines to follow when you feel like progressing to the next stage.

Apr 13, 2015It’s that infectious enthusiasm that makes VoidExpanse such an effective experience. The game may have flaws, with stability a problem that still needs to be addressed, but AtomicTorch has nonetheless created a highly addictive and fun title, with the potential to grow into a sleeper indie hit.

Apr 17, 2015Technically and conceptually this is a little gem for all the fans of games like Drox Operative oder Space Pirates and Zombies. But be aware that there are a lot of edges that need to be smoothed out and areas that need to be improved.

Jul 13, 2015VoidExpanse manages to be both satisfying and disappointing at the same time. At its core the game is a competent sci-fi action-RPG with some interesting elements and a solid 3D engine to boot, but it is lacking in compelling content in order to keep the player engaged for longer than a single playthrough. It's not a bad purchase if you've already played the heavy hitters in the genre but its gameplay gets repetitive and 'grindy' relatively fast.
-
Apr 21, 2015VoidExpanse is toothless in general, lacking the mystery and suspense that could have propelled it through the universe.
