Undungeon is a great game with tons of unique innovative designs that I have never experienced. If the staggeringly large amount of text doesn't scare you off, and a sci-fi story is something you're interested in, I definitely recommend it.

Undungeon is an action role-playing game that wants to be hardcore and for sure it is, even if with a few too many edges. The difficulty level is not perfectly balanced and punishes mistakes with regularity, demanding serious farming to have a competitive character in your hands.

Undungeon is a visually breath-taking game that unfortunately suffers from lack of actual game content in favour of overcomplicated world building. The combat is clunky, there is way too much text to read and thanks to ridiculous damage scaling mechanic the difficulty is nerve racking. And that’s a shame, because developers created a intimidating, sci-fi wasteland world, sprinkled with rich lore.

Undungeon is a victim of development hell. A promising roguelike with a weird multiverse and a plethora of original characters turned into a dreary action/RPG with a broken combat system, bad dialogue and poorly designed quests.

  1. Less would have been so much more here, and sadly Undungeon’s deep-running problems with the basics get in the way of its bizarre and beautiful world, its lovingly drawn characters and its wild sci-fi storyline.

what a mess, it makes my head spin,

Good game. Obviously the developer was shooting for more than an ARPG. You can tell they had aspirations of greatness, but as time went onGood game. Obviously the developer was shooting for more than an ARPG. You can tell they had aspirations of greatness, but as time went on they had to cut out a great deal of probably finished mechanics because they were tied to unfinished parts of the game. The game is hard, but easy at the same time. When I played the demo (the first half of the game) I died a ton due to lack of knowledge. When I played the game this time I beat the entire game without dying. Overall it's got the makings of greatness, and I hope they support the game more than it is now. I'm giving it a high score because as far as ARPGS go, this is on par with Diablo 1, and has more story and depth than Diablo did, even if the gameplay isn't quite there. Full Review »
