Everything from the official team rosters to the detailed fields and even to the smoke bombs set off in the grandstands at Wembley Stadium keep your head in the game.
-
A fantastic game that can compete against the best of them. If you have even the slightest bit of interest in soccer or soccer games definitely give this one a shot.
-
UEFA Euro 2004 might have only a fraction of the teams and features found in this year's FIFA offering, but the gameplay and options it offers are actually sufficiently different from those found in FIFA 2004 to make it a worthwhile purchase.
-
The number of gameplay modes really enhances the replay value of the game, and there is even an online mode included to go out and challenge opponents online.
-
Those of the football mad persuasion will certainly relish the tangible sense of occasion, excitement and authenticity ingrained throughout EA Sport's latest.
-
During matches, a new passing feature allows for better control of long passes, using a combination of buttons to produce greater ball control in mid-air. In the right hands, the new move can be lethal.
-
It's very fun, and a complete game in its own right, but it may seem too familiar to some.

PC GamerBetween the game's classy commentary and its sensational broadcast-style presentation, soccer fans will find a ton of depth in the championship mode, which you can take online to play others in one-on-one match-ups. [July 2004, p.65]

This ones for the hardcore only. Those who already own FIFA 2004 and are happy with it, or are only casual soccer fans, shouldnt waste their time because youll notice little different between the two titles.
-
Playing Euro 2004 is a strangely seductive experience, even for hardcore PES fans like us. It's all so official, so slick, so sparkly, and so stylishly smooth while still playing some decent footie that we'll even forgive it for not being PES. Vive 2004!
-
Computer Games MagazineIt's got the same staying power as a keychain, a stuffed doll, or some other memento from this year's tournament in Portugal. [Aug 2004, p.57]
-
If its championship kicks that youre after, get yourself a copy of "PES 3," because what it lacks in glitz it makes up for tenfold in terms of gameplay. We certainly wouldnt be seen kicking about with anything else.
-
Where UEFA Euro 2004 falters is in its scope.
-
Euro 2004 is equal at best to the standard set by big brother "FIFA 2004," but does not surpass it, thus offering no lure to gamers who already own that title. Also, the gameplay is plagued by the very bugs that kept FIFA beneath "Pro Evolutions" shadow at Christmas.
-
There is simply no reason why buttons cannot be remapped or menus cannot be fully traversable with a mouse click. Controls should be just as tight and responsive as they are on a console pad.
-
games(TM)The 'new' simplicity makes for a fun and fast game that, courtesy of the excellent passing system and decent AI, finds a firm balance between real football and the arcade fun of a five-minute kick about. [June 2004, p.120]
