A worthwhile add-on to its predecessor. Most weaknesses like clunky animations and a troublesome interface have been eliminated, and you'll play about 14 hours - so much more than these very popular mini-DLCs nowadays.

If you enjoy open-world RPGs with real-time action-based combat, it's definitely worth considering a purchase of the Velvet edition once it's released.

Lots of atmosphere and humor, lots of adventure. This add-on has everything: a nice, large and open world, partially absurd quests and interesting characters.

Two Worlds II: Pirates of the Flying Fortress is two worlds all over again. Many problems of the main game remain, while the add-on presents a great, cineastic story with many entertaining quests. For fans of Two Worlds II a real must buy.

A good add-on overall, if you overlook the fact that the name doesn't match the content. [January 2012, p.80]

The essence of good old Gothic-style RPG: a neat story, a lot of new enemies and of course all the features that made Two Worlds II enjoyable, including interesting crafting and character development systems. If you liked Two Worlds II, you will like the add-on even more. [December 2011, p.74]

I wish it had a little more going for it when it came to the whole use of Pirates, but as a new adventure in the Two Worlds II universe, there's plenty to like about it. If you've been looking for an excuse to jump back into the game, I can't think of a better reason than picking up this expansion.

The subtitle of this expansion is way more interesting than the actual game content.

ThereI got many hours of fun out of this, mainly because I love to explore and try out different weapon combinations against the unruly mobs. There is a definite improvement to the graphics, especially the lighting. Hold a torch up inside the ship and you'll see not just shadows, but detail from bump mapping as light plays off various textured surfaces. Gameplay is much the same as the original TW2 (sailing has been tweaked for the 'landlubbers' to be easier) but the enemies are more robust, hence the requirement for a high level character. My only complaints are that you cannot return to the 'real' world to kick ass and take names, and there is also some pronounced audio stuttering when looting and opening inventories, which carries over to the main game as well. This didn't happen before the expansion, but oddly does not affect multiplayer. Otherwise, if you're a fan of TW2, this is well worth getting for the additional play time and the new loot (thank the gods, I can finally ditch that stupid pointed Mage hat!)
though the price point is too high, IMHO. When it comes on sale , definitely get it.

( the TW2 was max. 25-30 hour) The TW2PoFF is a new chapter in Antalor's history with new monsters, armors, and of course with new boss fights and multiplayer maps! I only gave 9, becaouse (for me) was too easy. ( i played at first in medium-and after in hard) Full Review »
