I have never played Theme Hospital before, so I missed out on the fun that most people say they had when they played the prequel to this game. I've played all sorts of sim games, so naturally I was interested in Two Point Hospital as well.

The game is pretty interesting and keeps you interested for quite some time, but it heavily lacks variety so you'll only be able to play it in bursts. It's more of a need fulfillment simulator than a tycoon sim. There isn't a lot of variation with what you do besides making sure that both your patients and your staff are happy and healthy.

As you progress further into the game, more elements are introduced to make the game more varied, and the objectives get harder to fulfill in order to beat the map. There is a lot of micromanaging involved so that everyone is equally satisfied.

The reason why I didn't give this game an 8 is because some features in the game are basically ignored like setting the prices to things and customizing rooms, and because some mechanics can be abused to fulfill certain objectives without any sense of aesthetic or logic (i.e. you can spam paintings to meet the attractiveness need).

Also, there is a serious bug where you can't meet the needs of patients even when you've met them. For example, even when you have plenty of vending machines installed to fulfill a person's need for hunger, they might never use them and just starve themselves to dissatisfaction, causing you to lose that patient for no justifiable reason. This was hugely unfair and didn't follow common sense.

In any case, I think a good amount of fun can be had with this game, but I don't think it deserves anything higher than an 8. It is a sim that's nowhere near as complex as a game like The Sims. I think anyone who gives it a 9 or 10 is probably just biased because they loved playing Theme Hospital in the past. Not that nostalgia isn't a good thing I suppose, but reviews should not be influenced by that as well as hype.

Interesting new entry in the management gaming sphere.

It's easy to go through the menus, including employee management, general dashboard, various pricing, etc. ...

Very accessible design with a direction that does not take itself too seriously.

All in all, great, refreshing management game, considering that we don't get a chance to run a hospital very often.

not sure what people see in this game. it's a simple "sim" game (it's no way a "tycoon"). it looks, feels and plays almost like a mobile clicker. sure, there's some funny writing, but not much more... i guess it's ok if you want to relax in the evening for an hour or two, but the game feels pointless, no challenge, no sense of achievement, not much planning or thinking required. the waynot sure what people see in this game. it's a simple "sim" game (it's no way a "tycoon"). it looks, feels and plays almost like a mobile clicker. sure, there's some funny writing, but not much more... i guess it's ok if you want to relax in the evening for an hour or two, but the game feels pointless, no challenge, no sense of achievement, not much planning or thinking required. the way freddie mercury walks made me smile. that's about it. - Has not evolved from theme hospital, retaining both design flaws and repetivity.
    - Room building is very tedious, has not learnt from other sim games (prefabs / templates).
    - Game balance is very poor: money is unimportant, room attraction can be gamed due to linear balance curve, training process can be unintuitive, flow and pacing causes big lulls (but not lulz).

For the first 2/3 hours this felt like a better game, but over time the repetitive core player loop out-weighed the new content and gameplay.

Неплохой ремейк культовой стратегии. Юмор слабее, но зато обновленная графика и не плохая сюжетная компания.

This game is pretty slick and easy to play but I really got bored of it quickly. The basic formula is find a new disease and build room to treat it plus hire more staff. Keep everyone happy. Rinse and Repeat. Everything in this game though is nice and polished and building your Hospital is easy and relaxing, but there just isn't much of a metagame going on unless you do the campaign mode. This game is pretty slick and easy to play but I really got bored of it quickly.

It's what you would expect from the type of game. Build your hospital, cure diseases, manage your staff and unlock an array of hospitals throughout multiple years as you work your way up to be a brilliant organization. The game is nothing unique or impactful, but loads of fun that will give you value, although might become a bit repetitive after a while. Its presentation is cute, the music surprisingly catchy. However, the game focuses a lot on over-the-top and, "funny" diseases like mad clown disease. It goes a bit overboard with its concept, and loses a lot of realism which is a bit off-putting. Either way, it's a well crafted, fun and cool game to pass some time.

Overall: It's nothing unique or mind-blowing, but it's fun. You'll enjoy the experience and will be delighted to run your hospital organization. Just keep in mind that's more quirky than realistic.

Overall, the game is fairly entertaining and keeps interest fairly well. Over time, it can be repetitive as you are effectively managing patient and staff emotions, with lots of micromanaging so you don't have staff walk out on you or have a patient rage leave your hospital.

Over time, the levels get progressively harder and there's more things to meet, like attractiveness requirements - but this can just be countered by spam placing paintings on every wall that you own.

Fairly decent game for the genre.

Just like Theme Hospital two decades ago, Two Point Hospital doesn’t take the whole medical stuff seriously, which makes it fun and accessible, but despite all the giggles it still is a simulation deep enough to satisfy those more demanding. [11/2018, p.62]

The successor of Theme Hospital didn´t avoid flaws, but once you get immersed in the game, you will travel twenty years back in time with elegant style and modern graphics. Nothing more, but that's enough. [Issue#289]

A humorous and absolutely charming game, created with extreme care. It has its drawbacks, like the low challenge and the poorly designed sand box mode, but overall this is one of the most enjoyable simulation games of 2018.
