Jan 3, 2016As a remaster Iguana Games could do a lot better and the price will not please everyone, but Turok is always Turok and a good and fun travel back in time is always welcome.
-
Feb 8, 2016It’s fast paced arcade shooter style is a ton of fun, and considering the types of leaps and bounds it brought to the FPS genre, it’s no wonder that it managed to succeed all those years ago.
-
Jan 25, 2016Turok Remastered offers lots of sentimental value, but its gameplay suffers the years passed since its first release and the price is a bit too steep.
-
Jan 12, 2016Turok Remastered is exactly what I expected it to be, and I enjoyed the nostalgia trip. I hope they continue with the series, as Seeds of Evil is still my favorite in the franchise. Turok was a series that definitely had its chance, but I don’t think ever got the proper game it deserved. I love revisiting these old N64 titles in a new light, and who knows, perhaps in a few years the dinosaur hunter can once again become relevant in gaming.
-
Jan 7, 2016It will mostly appeal to fans of the original. I can’t say this remaster will help introduce the younger generation of gamers to one of gaming’s classics. Had it been a proper remake with modern graphics, it would’ve been more popular. I absolutely loved it but recognize that there are issues with the overall game.
-
Dec 31, 2015A piece of gaming history with some interesting changes in the gameplay, but basically thought for the nostalgic.
-
Dec 31, 2015Gamers who’ve never experienced the old-school variety of first person shooters may also still enjoy Turok – though it’s a bit more punishing than modern first person shooters, the availability of cheat codes and a wide arsenal of weapons and enemies should still make an entertaining adventure for gamers who don’t mind older, jagged-looking graphics.
-
Dec 29, 2015Turok is a great example of a type of game the FPS genre moved away from, and is actually better to play now than it was in its original version.
-
Dec 27, 2015Turok: Dinosaur Hunter Remastered it’s an easy recommendation for nostalgic fans so long as they curb any lofty expectations of it being just as good as it was almost twenty years ago. Give this a try as a newcomer and you’ll be surprised to find a solid dino blasting relic that hasn’t quite defied the conventions of time, but is still fun nonetheless.
-
Dec 21, 2015Turok hasn't aged particularly well, but it still fun to play because of all the memories it brigs. Still, you might want to keep the fog on, because AI and the gunplay weren't designed to play without it.
-
Dec 21, 2015While Turok: Dinosaur Hunter undoubtedly shows its age in both its unappealing graphics and some of its gameplay mechanics, there is still a lot of enjoyment to be had with the hybrid FPS/exploration gameplay.
-
Dec 17, 2015While the ten-year-old inside of me would like to pretend that Turok: Dinosaur Hunter is perfect and the best shooter of all time, I have to admit it isn't and this version isn't anything special. If you're looking to relive a retro experience with slightly better draw distance, a solid 60fps framerate, and a far superior control system then by all means pick this up. If you're more accustomed to the modern day FPS, it's best to leave this one buried in the past.
-
Feb 2, 2016I like Turok; but I like it as an N64 game where I can make excuses for its shortcomings based on its platform—in a vacuum where I can’t compare it to other, truly great shooters.
-
Dec 21, 2015Outdated shooter with a dinosaur bonus. Only retro fans with too much money to spend will be thrilled.
-
Dec 21, 2015Turok may have been state-of-the-art in 1997 but today both its graphics and its gameplay feel virtually prehistoric.
