Oct 28, 2020The game's excellent presentation goes wonderfully with its surprising amount of variety. The game might not be scary, but it is thought-provoking and unique, which makes it more than worth a look from narrative adventure fans.

Dec 6, 2020Transient is quite a pretty game that manages to mix and match cyberpunk vibes from Observer with some quirky Lovecraftian stuff. But the lack of a coherent storyline, interesting puzzles, and a better motivation for main protagonist to dive deep into past events is sadly hard to ignore. Plus all those references to some old retro classics seems rather out of place here.

Oct 29, 2020Transient has many interesting qualities that make it stand out as an experience. Sadly, it feels a bit rushed and the gameplay never really moves past just being a vehicle for the narrative. When melding Lovecraft with cyberpunk, Transient focuses on having the former as the core of the story, while using the latter as its shell. It works surprisingly well for the most part, but left me wanting more cyberpunk on a thematic level. Overall, Transient is a title worth playing primarily for those looking for a Lovecraftian experience wrapped in a beautiful cyberpunk package.

Oct 29, 2020Transient is an original take on Lovecraft’s mythology, enriched by cyberpunk influences and breathtaking scenarios. Sadly, in this puzzle-adventure game, npcs are too static and some puzzles are clunky.
-
Oct 29, 2020Transient is what you get if Dear Esther donned Nyarlathotep's mantle, had some superficial puzzles and was drenched in neon colours. From the talented creators of Conarium and Darkness Within games, we had come to expect something more engaging on their fourth endeavour.

Dec 13, 2020Cyberpunk and Lovecraft... It's a weird crossover but worth to try. Transient is a good game but it could be better.
-
Dec 1, 2020Transient deserves recognition for seamlessly concocting a stunning blend of sci-fi and Lovecraftian horror, but it deserves more space to fully come to fruition than what it’s afforded here.
-
Nov 25, 2020Transient had an opportunity to create a unique and exciting experience with its unusual mixture of cyberpunk and H.P. Lovecraft. Sadly, the lack of a coherent story and boring gameplay cause it to fall short of what ultimately might have been. I give it credit for coming to a sort of conclusion after the credits have rolled, but by that point, it was too little, too late.
-
Nov 4, 2020At its core, Transient is a decent game with some avoidable issues. The title has some extremely strong visual elements and powerful thematic ties to the genres it loves, and as such fans of cyberpunk and Lovecraftian horror will find things to enjoy here. However, its narrative feels quite sluggish and convoluted, lessening its overall impact.
-
Nov 12, 2020Stormling tells a story with undoubted potential, without however supporting it with a careful management of textual narrative and good game design.
