Fails to deliver on many of the promises. The research tree is very basic and has no real branches just Admin or martial. The new buildings and mechanics are from Attila Total war.

Then there are the chariots, oh the chariots. With 10 Chariots (9 units + general) and 10 cheap anything you can absolutely crush any army. Even elephants are no match for chariots, CHARIOTS. Not only is it

Not only is it super easy to crush the AI with chariots, chariots were useless battlefield relics before the birth of Christ. this games at least 200 years after that. It is equal game breaking and immersion breaking. Like if the best gun in Call of duty ww2 was a flint lock dueling pistol.

"Empire Divided" feels more like an unfinished amateur mod than an actual DLC from a professional game development studio, which promised a lot more than that. A waste of time and resources.

"Creative Assembly"'d better start learning from modders at some point, because they do this work a lot better than the studio and with interest.

An awesome refreshment to an already great game, although the price is not cheap In my opinion, fairly, it is totally worth it and provides quite a bang for the buck.
There is no need to hate Rome 2 Total War just because of its rough release, appreciate the state which the game is in now and enjoy every damn minute of it!

Great DLC! Really enjoying it. One of the more challenging campaigns I have played. Happy they were able to add some new content to my favorite total war.

After Atilla, sanitation in this DLC feels like a gimmick, taking up building slots. The most helmets and armor are wrong for this period. Zenobia spreading latin culture (that just crazy). Worst $15 I spent on DLC. Atilla does everything better than this DLC in the base game. 1 instead of 0 only because they offered power and politics for free. I wish I could get my 15$ back.

    I loved

I loved Age of Charlemagne. That was awesome DLC this one is a disgrace.

Boring DLC with recycled gameplay and plenty of bugs this DLC was released to please the history fanatics of the Total War series. After the Warhammer Totat War 2 release there was an angry mob of old fans that they didn't like the fantasy games of Games Workshop so they demanded from the developer to release the same old boring history type of trash. One of the best campaign DLC for Rome 2 to be released so far. New game mechanics in this campaign and in the Power and Politics patch released along side of it.

Hopefully this will not be the last dlc they make for this game.

Rome 2: Empire Divided is a weird beast. I have no idea why Creative Assembly went back and made this expansion. Maybe this is a part of some corporate plan to mimic Paradox’s approach to their strategy games or just a sincere, but uninspired attempt to breathe new life into an aged game. But in any case, it is too little, too late.

The Empire Divided campaign partially succeeds in being a fun new addition to the Total War universe, but it quickly becomes clear that the old shortcomings of the Rome 2 engine and a lack of great new mechanics, music and voice-overs make for an experience that feels older than it should.

The Rome II: Empire Divided DLC is the standard Total War that we all know and love. There are no huge surprises and for the most part, mechanics added do a good job at immersing you into the Third Century and a Roman Empire fallen into chaos. Banditry isn’t all that noteworthy but Cults are fun and thematic. In sum: if you can’t get enough of Total War, give this one a try.
