TopSpin 2K25 comes in a polished package. Both single-player and online matches feel good (though a ping differential can cause havoc), and feel lovingly crafted. A few presentational flourishes heighten the experience, but most importantly it's a game that rewards your efforts to improve at playing it. While it would have been nice to see a simulation-type focus on the life of a professional tennis player to flesh out the experience, the truth is, it doesn't need it to feel like a great package. It caters to those who want to continually improve and take on the world after conquering the tournament circuit, and also to those that just want a solid tennis game to play against AI or friends.

The new Top Spin has many options in career mode, robust character creation, cross-platform support and the presence of big stars. However, microtransactions and lack of balance take the game away from perfection in the genre.

A lot tennis games try to follow the footsteps of the good, old Virtua Tennis. But most of them fail because of some gameplay issues . TopSpin 2K25 is fun to play and can deliver some great tennis experience. Just a few bugs and mediocre graphics tarnish the image.

TopSpin 2K25 is without doubt the best tennis game since the last Top Spin game. It succeeds at finding the all important balance of risk versus reward that the foundation of Tennis is built on, and whilst it's not perfect, it provides a solid base for 2K to build on.

Top Spin 2K25 is a fantastic comeback that draws the line for future installments, but it has clunky visuals and animations.

In its current state with the visual issue caveat, I recommend TopSpin 2K25 if you really like tennis. It could’ve been better, but I’ve enjoyed the time I’ve put into it. I’m not sure if this will become a yearly series for 2K, but I’m glad to see TopSpin return. I look forward to seeing what future updates bring for the game.

TopSpin 2K25 feels like a reboot of the series rather than a proper sequel. The lack of game modes really makes the title feel like it's starting from scratch and trying to nail the fundamentals before approaching more offbeat stuff. Despite the occasional missing inputs and stuttering from time to time, the game remains enjoyable enough that you'll want to master the controls and get in a few matches against others quite often. It needs work for future iterations, but for now, TopSpin 2K25 is solid enough.

The gameplay in Top Spin 2K25 is so through that it seems out of this world. Unfortunately, the lack of simple features like playing with friends online or a really small roster of athletes will let the players with the feeling that they are playing an early access version. 2K has to support this game and franchise, we're almost at the peak.

Not a pretty game, but with very good gameplay - that's TopSpin 2K25 in a nutshell. The king of tennis is back, but not much changed - considering the huge break the series has served us (pun intended). But maybe that's exactly what the fans needed.

Top Spin 2K25 offers challenging gameplay for tennis fans, but struggles with technical weaknesses and pushy microtransactions.

So far, I'm having a lot of fun with Top Spin 2K25, though there are some obvious shortcomings, like the lack of online doubles and custom matches, the very limited roster of pro players, and the too-long rallies. I'll reserve final judgment after proper testing of the 2K and World Tour modes when they go live.
