    This is one of the best and most fun singleplayer games i have ever played, i love the job they have done on both the combat and the story of this game. Amazing!!!

    Awesome mechanic combined from Assassins Creed 3 and Mirrors Edge. Awesome puzzle like Prince of Persia Series. Awesome QTE like Resident Evil Series. Awesome details, especially in hair. Awesome voice actor for the documents like Metro Series and Dead Island. Awesome face expression. You have all in one package, Tomb Raider!!

    I picked this game up on a Steam sale and I must say this is one of the best deals I have made in my entire life. Tomb Raider is the best game I have played from 2013 and probably the best over all action adventure game I have ever played. It has a good story, interesting characters, good and intense gameplay (that involves a lot more than just killing enemies) and some sweet graphics.     The game is visually stunning with tons of aesthetic ambience, the setting treated as a character is highly developed. Lara is well designed, fun to play, smart and without those awful stigmas from older games.
    But the game is full of AWFUL quick time events and difficulty spikes that are misplaced and unbalanced which drag the game down from what should have been a fantastic game!

    All I will say is, LARA CROFT... EPIC GAME! The game-play is just amazing and the visuals are absolutely stunning...Very very pleased with my purchase of this game!

    Pros: Strong lead w/ good voice acting, absolutely stunning visuals (on PC anyways), tight fluid controls, and great animations. Story is a tad predictable but good and engaging nonetheless. Very well done combat. Every weapon has it's situation and later in the game you'll be switching weapons on the fly to overcome the fights. One especially nice moment was after you get your grenade launcher, something Lara yells at the enemies made me smile so much.

    I can't get over how well Lara handles animation wise. It's just so... meaty and well done.

    No game is without it's flaws so

    Cons:
    Some of the voice acting is a little bland, but not enough to take you out of the moment. Outside of the journals I wasn't very compelled to grab the collectables. It is a little funny to hear Lara's nerdy gushing over an ancient artifact in the middle of a gunfight though. Half of the game is on the rails w/ some exploration thrown in there. That might be a con or a pro depending on the person. Regardless it was tastefully done, and the optional tombs more than made up for the more scripted moments.

    If you like action games it's a must buy. At the risk of pissing off some fanboys, it's like Uncharted, but better.    … Expand

    Tomb Raider is a modern and well graphic designed game. Inspired on adventure and surviving games, it achieves all the expectations of the players! I liked it very much. The story and the plot are awesome! Don´t hesitate to play it!

    Tomb Raider has an intense story followed by great game mechanics and fluidity.
    It has a good mixture of combat, puzzling and cinematics. All this combined with appealing graphics.

    Tomb Raider it's the best game I ever played and I play many games. It has stunning graphics, one of the best campains/story line ever, very good gameplay, and the best of all is when you finish the game prety much free rom and it has multiplayer what is awesome.

Graphics is so amazing using WQHD resolution, control is great, story is engaging, refreshing to see Lara in different attitude than self confident adventurer. Intense combat and sufficient puzzle to solve. Despite its returning to similar location but never reuse same route... satisfactory purchase and game completion...

    One of the best games of all time! For me, it is definately in the TOP 5. The only reason i don't give it exactly the No.1 rank, is i'm originally a strategy fan, and there is a Starcraft 2, and a Heroes of might and magic III, V, and the evergreen Warcraft III. As a TPS, it's No.1.

And I have to say, this version of Lara is better than the overtly sexualized vixens in prior titles. The premise is fairly well set up.     The premise is fairly well set up. Your ship is sunk in a typhoon and you and other survivors are stranded on this mysterious island. Cliche? Sure. But it doesn't mean it's bad. It does a good job of setting up the atmosphere of the game.

    The graphics are extremely good, especially if you've got the hardware muscle to efficiently render the GPU-punishing TressFX feature (dynamic hair physics simulation). With TressFX, Lara's hair is arguably the best hair of any game. But I digress... The environments and atmospheric effects are top notch, and character models are well made. Particle and physics effects are also very good. Granted if you have the hardware to back it all up.

    Gameplay is... decent. The gunplay and stealth aspects are solid in their own right, but the presence of the hated quick-time events dampen the experience by a fairly significant margin, considering the over-abundance of QTE's in the game.

    In general though, Tomb Raider is a great reboot of the franchise that honestly improves upon it, but perhaps in order to appeal to the current mainstream gamers, quick-time events have made a comeback...    … Expand

    I bought this game in the Steam summer sales for 5€. After completing it, I can say it was totally worth much more than that. I have never been a Tomb Raider fan (played a couple of games several years ago, but I don't remember a lot from them). The story is just awesome the only thing that feels weird is that the "transformation" of Lara from innocent to what she becomes looks a bit tooI bought this game in the Steam summer sales for 5€. The gameplay was good (in my first playthrough I only found a couple of bugs). The sound is one of the best things of the game, it almost makes you feel like you are there with Lara.
    The game is not long, but it will take you about 15 hours to complete (if you take at least some of the secondaries)

    Basically, you explore, run, jump, kill. There are some quicktime events, too, but not too much and not insanely difficult. With autosave and mostly fair design, the game normally is not frustrating but doable. The gameplay is not completely linear. Sure, you normally go from area to area, but in the area itself you sometimes have to find your way, especially when you have to use your equipment (hook, arrows etc.). In TR2, the huge areals where pretty demanding (and satisfying). TR2013 is a lot easier now, but it is fun nevertheless.

    Amazing game. Everything about this game screams quality. Visuals are stunning, sound effects are amazing and the storyline is immersive. Definitely one of the best games of it's generation.

    I already played this game over a year ago, and when I decided to pick it up again two weeks ago I thought I was gonna get bored out of my skull doing the same thing over again. But I can't believe how hooked I got with it once I started playing: it feels even more amazing and interesting than the last time I tried it out.
    This is for sure the most engaging game I've played in a long while!

    Crazy good reboot with fantastic graphics and adventure. Nice mechanics and good feeling to the game with good story and the new Lara is hot and cool.

    Even if you are not a Tomb Raider fan or you fear that you are not good with puzzles then don't be afraid because this is a whole new Tomb Raider game and the pizzles are incredibly easy and there is more action and story than puzzles.

    Wasn't expecting the game to be as good as it was. Great customization and story; I never was fond of a female protagonist but Lara Croft is definitely very fun to "play" with :)

    An amazing reboot of my favorite ever video game character. Rich single player story and amazing game play is what pushes this game to the next level. Graphics is stunning. There were so many times where you feel like stop playing and just appreciate the beautiful island that you are in. Overall an outstanding game.

    Amazing game:

    -good and exciting cutscenes
    -Lara is very beautiful
    -good atmosphere and gameplay
    -very engaging
    -great setting

    Only two things are not so good:

    -too many enemies and shootings
    -too few tombs

    I can really recommend it.

    No doubt the game has done an impressive job of rebooting the series. And it's a great survival game - with extremely fun to play elements and an immersing story. Only issue here is that the story narration doesn't match the actions of Lara Croft. While she's a stone-cold killer on a rampage to mercilessly kill everyone in the island, she's acting as if she's a morale person.

    I'm a massive fan of Tomb Raider, and although I've always played the series with the PS2 I've now tried this last pearl on my Mac and it works amazingly. Graphic is excellent, the very nature of the game that we love hasn't changed but just improved. The only thing i'm not sure about is the character of Lara : they made a very weak personage that lacks in consciousness and begin fair,I'm a massive fan of Tomb Raider, and although I've always played the series with the PS2 I've now tried this last pearl on my Mac and it works amazingly. The suspense and action is non-stop. There are some optional objectives, but doing them gives greater satisfaction and more salvages, essential to upgrading your weapons. My only problem is the progression tree, which onlyI have never played a Tomb Raider game before, so I did not have any preconceptions or expectations in playing this game. Tomb Raider is an adventure game to its core. The suspense and action is non-stop. There are some optional objectives, but doing them gives greater satisfaction and more salvages, essential to upgrading your weapons. My only problem is the progression tree, which only gives you a choice which skills you want first (you need to buy all of the skills except one or two), and only the bow and the rifle are worth using (the shotgun is necessary to break some obstacles, but not so useful at combat).… Expand

    This wasn't very original when it came out but it surpassed our expectations as we saw a more mature approach on Lara Croft. Overall its a surprisingly good single player game with fun and fluid combat and interesting optional tomb challenges.

    My first ever video game was TR2, and my first ever love was Lara Croft. That being said, after finishing the trilogy, I was excited to take control of Lara once again. And Boy! was it amazing!! Though the Lara Croft we meet first isn't poised and sophisticated as we have seen her until now. She is a young, afraid and vulnerable girl on her first adventure (which quickly turns into aMy first ever video game was TR2, and my first ever love was Lara Croft. That being said, after finishing the trilogy, I was excited to take control of Lara once again. And Boy! was it amazing!! Though the Lara Croft we meet first isn't poised and sophisticated as we have seen her until now. She is a young, afraid and vulnerable girl on her first adventure (which quickly turns into a nightmare) and she matures into the woman I adored by the end of this game. Gameplay is brilliant, graphics is amazing and story is dark and mystic. The real villain is the Island itself. I had an excellent time foraging, killing, exploring, solving the puzzles and yeah! raiding the tombs apart from pursuing main story. Even if you aren't a Lara Croft fan, play this one just to experience the beautiful and dangerous Island of Yamatai. Deserves it.… Expand

    An amazing reboot that renews the formula of the Tomb Raider franchise, making it a pseudo-fantasy action survival game with good cinematics, storytelling and a semi-linear gameplay allowing you to take detours and raid tombs as side quests -- opening up more of the story and the setting. This game ages well having played it 5 years later.

    A game with a story and gameplay like the Tomb Raider 2013 will never be a note 86, is one of the best games of this decade. is at least 95, as the positive reviews on Steam say with more than 90% of positive ratings.

    One of the masterpieces of the decade.

    I thoroughly enjoyed 95% of the game. I loved the world. It's huge and there is a lot to do. I liked the characters. Visually, it's gorgeous and the levels are a lot of fun. Not to mention that Lara is smoking hot.

    The one flaw with this game is the final boss, which is - disappointingly - a series of QTEs. That was a huge letdown.

    Nice adventure game with a simple story behind it. But what makes the story interesting is how they presenting the story to make us want to keep playing the game. The game very remind you with assasin creed because of the climbing, jump etc

    I liked the game, it is really (crystal) dynamic and looks cool. Sometimes it seems like it was copied from Uncharted 2 (Have beaten both of games), even full scenes, but Tomb Raider have more unlinear gameplay, more collectibles, better puzzles and a bit of RPG elements, also its more Horror and darker. Overall, I would say they have the same quality

    A fantastic game with a very interesting world, great voice acting and gameplay that lacks originality but is well polished and satisfying. Tomb Raider offers a more realistic and dark experience than franchises like Uncharted and that isn't a bad thing, with a cool concept and its simple yet effective weapon and perk system Tomb Raider is a game everyone should try out.

The only major thing missing are decisions to make that would have affect the world or what happens to some characters, but that's all, this is 3rd person action/adventure story driven game done right.… Expand

    - Controls are sloppy, especially compared to Uncharted.
    - Weapon selection is too limited.
    - Too many pointless and poorly implemented QTE.
    - Awful in-game economy.
    - Not balanced around M+KB, makes the game too easy.

    Final Word
    - While enormously flawed, especially in its combat and story, the overall experience is greatly elevated by the interactive, open environments and stunning visual direction.

    He disfrutado cada hora de este gran videojuego. Tras haber jugado casi del tirón a la saga Uncharted metí mano a esta joya y podemos decir que Nathan Drake y Lara Croft son mellizos.
    Historia interesante, buenas mecánicas y para los años que tiene se ve fantásticamente bien. En PC con keys está tirado, si tienen un pc con una tarjeta gráfica decente no duden en jugarlo. Y en cuanto    He disfrutado cada hora de este gran videojuego. Tras haber jugado casi del tirón a la saga Uncharted metí mano a esta joya y podemos decir que Nathan Drake y Lara Croft son mellizos.

    Me pareció un acierto hacer un reboot de la saga, aunque tome elementos del Uncharted, sigue teniendo características de la gran exploradora Lara Croft.

Z drugiej strony jednak, czy każda seria (a zwłaszcza jeśli chodzi o gry) nie powinna się rozwijać wraz z biegiem czasu? Na to pytanie musicie sobie sami odpowiedzieć… Jeśli chodzi o długość nowego Tomb Raidera, to przejścieJaki jest nowy Tomb Raider? Na to pytanie musicie sobie sami odpowiedzieć… Jeśli chodzi o długość nowego Tomb Raidera, to przejście gry zajęło mi około 9 godzin. Po ukończeniu głównego wątku fabularnego można jednak grać dalej i wrócić do miejsc, których nie przeszukaliśmy w całości oraz odnaleźć ukryte na wyspie grobowce. Możemy również dalej rozwijać umiejętności i sprzęt głównej bohaterki - co zapewne przedłuży grę o kilka godzin. Nowa Lara stawia na więcej akcji, okupując to brakami w elementach zręcznościowych i logicznych. Zagadki są proste i przewidywalne do bólu, a gra przez większość czasu prowadzi nas za rączkę. Z drugiej strony mamy jednak świetną grafikę, fenomenalne wręcz przedstawienie głównej bohaterki i iście filmowe prowadzenie akcji. Na pochwałę zasługuję również polonizacja gry, Karolina Gorczyca w roli Lary Croft sprawdziła się znakomicie. Bez wątpienia nowy Tomb Raider jest najbardziej widowiskową odsłona serii i warto w nią zagrać. Nie pozostaje mi więc nic innego, jak zaprosić Was na tajemniczą wyspę, gdzie wraz z młodą panią archeolog odkryjcie pradawne cywilizację i przeżyjecie przygodę swojego życia. Lara Croft powraca w wielkim stylu.

    This reboot is a bit of a walk in the park, but it is an enjoyable one. Although the combat isn't hard and the game is quite linear, the world is pleasant to look at and the story is well done.

Overall a really polished and complete experience with a pretty good amount of variety in gameplay and with really satisfying controls.     Acción pura y dura, Una situación peliaguda tras otra, durante todo el juego solo pensaremos "Pobrecita Lara" si esque mas cosas no le pueden pasar, no sale de una y ya se mete en otra. Ahora bien es mas dura que el titanio, recomendadisimo.

    From everything I have heard form people who used to love the big busty action game that was the old tomb raider, this game did not live up to the history of what tomb raider was. Boobs puzzles and guns. For me I found the reimagined tomb raider to be a great open world action adventure with a strong female lead.     The 2013 incarnation of Tomb Raider is not perfect in any way, but it's exactly what I need and expect from a very solid adventure game. First of all, the world is very immersive, with the events we experience and the lore we find building an intriguing picture of the situation on the island we find ourselves in, and the events that led up to it. Character design was decent, as was voice acting, but unfortunately the dialogue writing was pretty uninspired, though luckily not terrible. The world is also designed very well - both realistic and aesthetically pleasing, with terrain variety reminescent of CoD 4. Traversing it is generally very pleasant, although climbing routes are way too obvious for my taste, with white paint marking almost anything you can use on your way.

    The progression throughout the game was quite satisfying, both in terms of the available movement mechanics and in terms of combat. The available weapons and the encountered enemies both got gradually more and more advanced, in what seemed like a natural way. Combat in general is quite satisfying as well, although sadly, is way too easy. Even at the highest (3rd) difficulty level, it's trivial to headshot everyone with a bow most of the time, and it's very difficult to get killed (unless you're grinding an achievement which requires you to tackle an enemy with a rifle...). Although it's not much of a challenge, it's still quite fun, and an optimal amount of hidden locations and collectibles makes the world even more enjoyable to explore.

    Overall, Tomb Raider is a solid adventure game in every aspect, and a modern benchmark for the genre.    … Expand

When the Endurance enters the Dragon’s Triangle, a sea off the coast of Japan infamous for its paranormality, it encounters a brutal storm and quickly sinks to the bottom of the sea, leaving the survivors stranded on an unknown island.

    Tomb Raider begins its gameplay with Lara isolated on an unknown island and is forced to struggle to survive and reunite with the other survivors. As the game progresses, Lara discovers that the island is the lost kingdom of Yamatai and that her friend Samantha is a descendent of the Sun Queen. As she tries escape the island with the other survivors, Lara finds herself battling off a violent cult known as the Solarii Brotherhood to save Samantha from being forced through a fire ritual to make her the Sun Queen’s successor. Although it is expected for this game to become progressively violent, Lara’s first kill dramatically escalates the game, which triggered the first of many adrenaline rushes within me. With Lara’s life at the palm of my hand as I hold my PS4 controller, the impact I saw that this kill made on Lara as she was overwhelmed by distraught and terror while retching over the lifeless body of her victim evoked a sense of empathy within me. However, this heart-wrenching moment is short lived, for she almost instantly becomes a ruthless killer as she fights through the game. As Lara undergoes this transformation in her identity, so do I as the player.

    As unique as Tomb Raider is, it has action sequences other great action-adventure games have: Lara escaping from burning structures and gliding down treacherous waterfalls. However, don’t be discouraged by these cliches because Tomb Raider remains a dynamic game with a diverse gameplay. When you aren’t at the edge of your seat between the combats, you’re completing mobility quests and survival hunts, such as climbing mountains with Lara’s axe, dodging and demolishing obstacles down a landslide, and eliminating opponents with stealth or weapons. Crystal Dynamics employs active artificial intelligence in the supporting cast, and this is a neat feature because you are able to steer clear of certain members of the Solarii Brotherhood if you avoid being sighted by hiding behind a barrier. This ability augments the authenticity of the gaming experience and places more control in the player’s hands. The well-designed game space allows you to explore the land almost freely with some restrictions of mountain climbing.

    I greatly appreciate Lara being a female character with an unwavering sense of courage, determination, and high-level intelligence in both mental and physical skills––not only because I am a woman myself. Her character is revolutionary and breaks down many gender barriers in the male-dominated industry and culture. Lara underwent a physical transformation by the rebooting of the series: she now has an average body figure and is wearing long archeologist pants instead of her iconic short-shorts, as seen in past games. This is a significant change because it shifts the focus on Lara from her infamous identity as a sex symbol to her characterial identity as a brave archeologist and hero. Unlike most male-lead games, Tomb Raider features a capable and independent heroine––not a damsel-in-distress––thus empowers women behind and in front of the gaming screen and reaffirms the fact that all genders are equally powerful and competent.

    Overall, Tomb Raider is exciting, action-packed, well-written, and beautiful and won’t fail to impress any player it comes across. Its narrative is remarkable and captivating and its gameplay is both emotionally and physically stimulating, in which the player is able to balance their enjoyment in the killing sprees with the emotional connection they feel with Lara’s empathy for her loved ones. I had a very enjoyable time playing the game, and I believe that rebooting the Tomb Raider series definitely pushed its reputation higher up in ranking. Tomb Raider (2012) successfully provides an experience where players are captivated by the ability to make their own decisions and take on the role of Lara as their own.     The graphics are fantastic and the history its awesome.The gameplay mechanics are fast paced and very interesting. And the game if filled of action moments, mystery and puzzles.     I recently started playing this game on my new PC, and i was surprised on how good it looked and played. My only complaint is that if you don't have a controller, don't even bother trying to get through some of these quests. I have not yet finished the game, but I am still intrigued by the story and character development. A solid 9.

    To be honest the reboot Tomb Raider series are one of the best game series on the entire world. There's no reason to be bored, cause the whole game keep you interested to spend more and more hours, complete all the achievements and try to look after relics and not just run like a crazy survivor.     This is one of the best games i played, the exploration, the story, the combat, the characters are just great. As i played time went by without me realizing it. I played this game twice on xbox 360 and on pc(steam) and i love it.

    For a now 9-year-old game the graphics really hold up, and the vistas all over the cursed island of Queen Himiko are breathtaking in their beauty and danger.
    Some of the timed escape and ascent sequences are really nerve-wracking, making full use of split-second reflexes. The boss combats likewise demand precision in reactions and responses.

Creation of protagonist, young Lara who wants to find her passion and nature is more than interesing and convincing. Story is exciting. Created world (semi-opened) is amazing. Views are beautiful, sometimes outstanding. Some locations will knock your socks off. Of course, couple of textures don't look very good right now, but most of them are remarkable. Music and sound are very good through all game.
    Tomb Raider offers great, exciting campaign for one player. Due to the world creation and Lara's charm it is worth playing more than once. It is a little bit of loss that multiplayer wasn't full-fledged and more popular.    … Expand

    A great game with stellar gameplay, great at atmosphere and satisfying progression. Only negatives can be a poor story and bad side characters. But the events and experiences you go through as Lara makes those issues minor. Worth your money.

    This game hooked me into its story a lot and I love Lara even more now. The combat feels good enough, the platforming and puzzles are not that hard but still fun to do and fairly challenging sometimes.

    One of my favorite games! I really like the Lara Croft series but this one was definitely the best!

    Бодрые перестрелки, неплохие головоломки, довольно высокий уровень жестокости и красивая главная героиня :) Есть пара неплохих локаций. Сюжет не то чтобы очень интересный но для адвенчуры нормально.

    Por la mitad se me hizo un poco largo, pero a pesar de ello lo he disfrutado mucho y si que lo recomiendo, los paisajes son preciosos y lo puedes pillar de oferta muy barato.

    While not every promising idea Tomb Raider has is pulled off successfully, it nevertheless turns in a tense and memorable ride that combines modern game design with its forebears’ adventurous spirit in some exciting ways. Some of its missteps may well come at the cost of your enjoyment, but most can’t hope to hurt the adventure in the long run. Although it never fully finds its identity, this is a game and a story worth seeing through.
