    Team play with family or friends is awesome fun. High quality online multiplayer only. No campaign. R6 is a solid performer, while not trying to be everything to everyone. I love it.

    To get the most fun out of it, press start on main menu and turn certain modes on and off. I like playing mostly classic terrorist hunt and bomb defuse TH. On TDM, I play mainly hostage rescue. For operator I go with Sledge. He has powerful weapons and is good for beginners. I'm glad SP is basically challenge tower training missions.     This is very much like any other traditional Rainbow 6. The explosive environments add so much challenge and tacticle planning. The only thing that keeps this game from getting a 10/10 is that they didn't include local co-op and a tps cover system this time. If you like games like Socom, Unit13, Ghost Recon, Swat, Counter Strike, or anything related to armed forces/ espionage, this is a dream come true.    … Expand

    Picked this game up for 33€ was well worth the money. The game seems to run really smooth and the hit registration is excellent! The only bug I've found so far is that on occasions my microphone settings seem to reset in game.

    Let's start with the important part: I really like this game.

    It is tactical, has an awesome destruction and looks good. It does not have a singleplayer campain, but I don't want one, and everyone complaining about this shouldn't have bought this game; it was clear that there is only multiplayer. Regarding the coop and training missions: They don't make much fun an the AI is pretty    Let's start with the important part: I really like this game.

    It does not have a singleplayer campain, but I don't want one, and everyone complaining about this shouldn't have bought this game; it was clear that there is only multiplayer.
    Regarding the coop and training missions: They don't make much fun an the AI is pretty stupid, but for learning the game it is ok (As I mentioned earlier, I only care about multiplayer anyways).

    About Multiplayer:
    It makes a hell of a lot of fun, but not everyone is going to like it, since it is a little bit different from COD or Battlefield, although after playing lots of Battlefield 3 before I quickly felt comfortable in Rainbow 6 Siege.

    The main issue at the moment are hitdetection and sometimes the netcode, but you don't notice it too often. Sometimes you wonder why the other one killed you so fast, but usually you just were in a stupid spot. The sound is sometimes also not perfectly matching with the game (someone is shooting and you can't hear the shots/ explosion sounds come from the wrong direction), which is quite annoying. But even though there are this problems, I already had over a dozend of playful hours in this game.

    If Ubisoft fixes this issues and works on a few more improvements, this game will be really awesome, but it is already a really good game. Another thing to mention is: There are not a lot of alternatives in this genre besides maybe Counter Strike, so we should be happy Ubisoft made such a game.    … Expand

    If ubisoft keeps their word and continue to support this game with free maps and characters, this game can mature into one of the top tier competitive shooters on the market.

    Been playing this for 2 years now & love it. Ubi have managed to address many of the problems that existed during the first year. Sometime they fix something only to create 2 new problems, but at least they're trying. The constant addition of new operators is a double edged sword; it adds new life into the franchise but typically new additions are initially overpowered and mess with theBeen playing this for 2 years now & love it.     Great tactical gameplay, incredibly tense atmosphere and fun gunplay. This game is really a blast, especially with friends. The maps are very well designed, and the operator system allows various different play styles.

    To the Rainbow Six veterans. I am a fan of the series since Raven Shield. Of course, the series has evolved, an Siege has not that much in common with Raven Shield anymore. But It is a very good game on it's own and maybe should not be compared to it's predecessors (i know it's called "rainbow six", but obviously for marketing reasons). But if you liked R6 for tactical gameplay and it's great atmosphere you will like Siege, too, that's for sure.    … Expand

    I've never been a twitch gamer, and online TDM games have nearly always left me discouraged, but R6 can be played as anything from a very slow tactical game, using the environment and your gadgets to counter and outwit your enemies, to a fast paced shooter; the amazing thing is, the two work wonderfully well together, without giving a clear advantage to one or the other.

    A great FPS-er can run and gun, using his quick attacks to prevent a tactical player from countering fast enough, while a tactician will have traps and counters, often using the destructible environment to prevent a frontal assault.

    The use of "rock paper scissors" operatives giving advantages and countering the advantages of other operatives makes games unpredictable and often very interesting and fresh.
    Teams of players working together can have a HUGE advantage, but since I play only random matches I can say the game is still incredibly fun without a group of friends playing with you.
    The community is a mixed bag ranging from helpful and instructive to downright toxic, but mostly being a good place in the middle..

    Technically, R6 isn't perfect, matches take 0.5-2 minutes to join, and dropping out of a match happens (even if rarely), cheating is STILL an issue (even if it's rarer these days), and lag can be an issue, but overall playing this on a high-end laptop over wifi, I hardly ever experience connection problems.    … Expand

    Prepare for infinite adapt or die cat & mouse gameplay. This is a game I keep coming back to for the heart pounding tension of never quite knowing what each new round will bring. For every advantage a new tactic or operator brings you, the accidental genius of the other 9 people playing the game with you will blow your mind (and your chosen operator) away. I highly recommend playing withPrepare for infinite adapt or die cat & mouse gameplay. This is a game I keep coming back to for the heart pounding tension of never quite knowing what each new round will bring. For every advantage a new tactic or operator brings you, the accidental genius of the other 9 people playing the game with you will blow your mind (and your chosen operator) away. I highly recommend playing with keyboard and mouse for this one using a controller puts you at serious disadvantage as there is no online aim assist in place for this game.… Expand

    I never played FPS that is so tactical like this before. Those who designed this game are ingenius. It is extremly satisfied when you killed enemy with your wit. The learning curve though is very steep. You really need to understand map and how to callout each room to play this game effectively. Toxic can happened but it is understandable for FPS games that allow friendly fire like this. Classes are creative and encourage strategic thinking.

    The only complain of me at this moment is the server. It is unstable and sometimes takes so long like 4 min+ to find a room. If Ubisoft fix their server and increase speed of matchmaking, I would give 10/10. Definitely one of the best FPS multiplayer I've ever played in my life.    … Expand

    Incredible game.
    Easily the best, most competitive online shooter in the market. Hard to get into for newcomers no doubt, but once you get the hang of it, you won't find a better, more intense shooter out there.

Anyone raiting this game very low for not having SP is an idiot, the game never claimed to have a campaign and as such should not be docked for not having one. The multiplayer is a lot of fun, especially when with a good group that doesn't treat it as 5 lone wolves. I would recommend this game to anyone who has grown tired of CoD and wantsA nice alternative to other online shooters.     This IS a pure multiplayer game - and thats the thing your should expect going into it. If you're the kind of person who primarily likes singleplayer games then this isn't for you. However if you're the kind of person who buys battlefield and then never plays the singleplayer then this is for you. The game is highly tactical and hardcore-focused.     If you play with a group of people who DO understand some basic tactics, have knowledge of the map and know the other operators in the team and are willing to work with them then the game is absolutely amazing and just kills every other MP game out now. Apparently there won't be "dlc" content but rather "early access" to the new stuff when buying a season pass which is perfect. I never buy that stuff and this way the community doesn't get split into 2 or 3 fractions.

    I like the gameplay, the graphic, the atmosphere and so on...

    I dislike that there's no really team play. Sometimes... but not always.
    And, if you watched the E3 trailer you will see, that there was AGAIN (Watch Dogs) a graphic downgrade

    Whatever, in general, I've got my fun with this game. And playing this game with friends is even better.

    Everybody should buy this game ;)

    THIS IS THE BEST SHOOTER CREATED IN YEARS. My only complaints are the server issues from time to time, and character change choices that the developers make, Glaz's new buff for instance is completely overpowered and removes the skill of using his character as target acquisition with him now is like an easter egg hunt in a whitewashed room.

    - Poor menu options (Requires backing out of game to edit load outs, buy characters, etc). -UPlay Though, notice how the lack of a single player campaign is not one of my issues with this game?     By playing all the closed and an open beta, along with the release on day 1, all I can say is: most issues were fixed, gameplay is vivid, action plays out great, i love the graphics, map design, and overall depth that the game has. Cons? Ye, there are few of them. Hitboxes, lack of single player campaign. But... I dont mind. Love the game so far.

There will be more content added over the next year so I'm not bummed like some critics are.     After playing both betas and experiencing crippling matchmaking problems I decided to avoid it at launch but when I was able to play I enjoyed one of the most fun and action packed shooters ever. Each class has a unique ability and a set pool of weapons each ability is used greatly to benefit the team whether its setting up bulletproof stronger shields and electronic heart monitors to breaching hammers and jammers. The terrorist hunt is back, the classic rainbow six mode is here you have to take a defuser and disarm 2 bombs with lots of respawning terrorists. So in conclusion rainbow six siege is a fantastic shooter and is a must buy for any tactical shooter fan… Expand

    You can hear someone running in the room above, running carelessly down the corridor. You might place a breaching charge on the ceiling and explode your way into the room, or you could start shooting through the ceiling hoping you hit somthing, or you could drop a little drone and race up there to view through the onboard camera, marking anyone found for your team.

    The environments are nearly completly destructable and can be used to shoot through, smash through, detonate or re-enforce as you see fit. Every game plays out differently due to player choice of character and decisions made on the fly and in response to team mates or opposition..

    Even playing with complete beginners can be fun due to thier hilarious and often clueless decision making, accidentally slipping off roofs, having to run away from their own badly thrown grenades and just plain panicking. My own personal worst was planting a C4 charge, then panicking in response to an enemy entering the room immediately detonating it, without moving away. Wrong trigger! Dead team mates can cycle through point of view for the live players making it even more embarassing if you're the last man on your team standing at the time.

    Slowly as you come to understand the multitude of guns, armour, and gadgets available, you can begin to plan for each encounter more effectively. It's a game that really lends itself to team chat. Nice to see a game that brings people together in a game requiring thought, planning, teamwork and communication in order to succeed.    … Expand

    It's a thinking man's shooter. Twitch FPS players look elsewhere. This game is all tactics and I love it. The ones griping about it play instant gratification FPS titles like COD which gets old almost immediately. I won't go on about the details inside the game because I'd rather people discover it for themselves, but if you like hardcore teamwork games, this is high up that tree. Overall my experience has been really positive (PC), people seem to be getting into the spirit of the game and while there are a couple bugs, there isn't anything too major that detracts from the overall experience. Although there are still micro-transactions, I give props to Ubi for free DLC maps and operators. Overall I think this is a strong shooter that will get better in the coming months.… Expand

    After beta i'm afraid about the game but right now is the best game from FPS on the market with come out this season.
    Very tactical and team play game.
    Somebody who still considering what to do just take and have fun with that game.But you need a nice team for play.
    They fix the problem with the matchmaking and now is perfect.

    To all the players comparing this game with Vegas: This is NOT Vegas. Just because it doesn't have the same features of one game doesn't make it a terrible game. Siege wasn't designed with 3rd person in mind. 3rd person would grant campers a huge advantage. In Siege, one must rely on their senses to determine enemy position, i.e. footsteps in the next room, someone walking through barbed wire, etc. These minute features are what make this game such a fantastic tactical squad-based shooter. You have to strategize with your team, accurately execute plans to complete the objective or fail together.

    This isn't for the COD player looking for quick-kill gratification. You won't find anyone sprinting across the map with guns blazing. That'll only get you killed. In fact, sprinting creates so much noise you'll quickly find yourself watching your corpse get teabagged via killcam.

    My one and only gripe with the game as of release are the bugs. Hopefully Ubisoft can fix these soon.    … Expand

    I don't find the content limited - there are 20 maps I think and 3 modes (hostage, bomb, kill all) when playing Terrorist Hunt. There are many Operators to choose from and there is no grinding. You can get more than 6000 points just by completing the single player training Scenarios. This can unlock and fully equip 3-4 operators.

    There is no pay to win element at all. Micro transaction are limited to skins and boosters.

    This is a straightforward focused team based FPS that stands on it's own. I'm glad I bought it.    … Expand

    Solid 9 for idea and great gameplay. Could be 10 but the content and custmization is too deep. We will see what DLC's brings. I recomend this game to all Modern Warfare 1 fans ;)

    A very different type of game a great refresher to the shooting genre, many ways to play, voice chat isn't as pivotal as you may think but it does help, I'd recommend not rushing into characters at the start simply 5 for each attack and defence. Very good graphics with high frame rate. Some tweaks need to be made with long loading times randomly and some extra features. Sure the game doesn't have a single player campaign, and I get it, not every one plays multiplayer, and there are some people who love story striven games. It's reasonable to be upset since Tom Clancy is a writer; and you know he's all about building a story with believable characters, and blah, blah blah.

    But at it's core Rainbow Six is still very much alive in this title. There aren't many games on the console market that focuses so deeply on team tactics. All that planing before a mission, giving your red team, and blue team their planed routes and go codes, that's all there. The same amount of finesse and planing goes in to how you assault your objective just like any other rainbow six game. Of course, this applies if you have a good team, but I've ran in to more players willing to listen and work as team with strangers more-so in rainbow six siege, than any other game on the market. So if you don't have a group of guys to play with, it's not very hard to meet like minded players who whined up on your friend list after a few games. I've added at least 20 and started a community of PS4 called, You Gotta Be Tacticool.

    I do have to admit though. The controls can be a bit funky at first, but I suggest adjusting your stick dead zones (if you're playing on consoles), turn up your sensitivity, and turn off aim assist if you're playing terrorist hunt, and you should be golden. My setting for my dead zones are turned all the way down to five, and my sensitivities are set to five and that's my sweet spot.

    Now if you do want to play single player, there is the classic terrorist hunt, and the new situations. Situations are basically a weak ass set of "campaign" missions that teach you how to play the game. But honestly, Multiplayer is where this game really shines.

    I love the team work, and the how easily the dynamics of a map can change. The destructible surfaces really make this game interesting, and if your team is really on par. You can spank just about any defending team. Just last night I played a rank match that went 9 rounds because each of our teams were so spot on with attacking. It was one of the best games I've played so far, and the most exciting. Of course we won since we were the last to attack and took the match point.

    I'm giving this game a 9 out of 10 only because they're are a lack of maps and instead of adding to level designs, they are creating additional operators. I don't have any complaints about game modes because they suit the theme of the game incredibly well.

    So, if this game had more content, it would have defiantly received a 10/10.    … Expand

    Pros: -sound are amazing, sometimes you literally have to depend on the sounds of footsteps to get your kills -well paced combat, not boring if you die and have to watch, but you are not pressured to rush it either -no running through bullets knifing enemy... 1    Personal opinion of a casual player:

    Patch has done wonders to the hit registration. Weapon feel is 'juicy' and it feels satisfying shooting people. The maps are great with lots of tactical possibilities. Some of the operators are somewhat useless and some are must have in a team. With people who can be found online on the subreddit this game is an absolute blast!

    I was a massive fan of Rainbow Six Vegas 1&2 and would play terrorist hunt coop online for hours with a group of close friends. Siege reintroduces me to the Terrorist Hunt as well as adding new online multiplayer mechanics and small bite sized single player scenarios to complete. If your a fan Vegas 1 or 2 then this will satisfy your needs.

But most of the major things like the operators, head gears, weapon skin etc, are obtainable through ingame currency called "Reknown", and the maps are obviously free.

    The developers took a huge risk with this game and although it had a pretty rocky start, the game NOW is phenomenal. The game's player base keeps on increasing instead of decreasing, which not a lot of games these days can do. The Rainbow six community is stronger than it ever was because of the shear amount of support the developers gave to this game. Trust me, i would know, i stuck around since the beta.     I just love it. The team play experience is extremely important but this game is really difficult to master as map knowledge is key. Don't get discouraged by dying a lot at the beginning. This game will grow on you.
    There are a few things that Ubisoft needs to address to make it a 10/10 game, such as the Casual mode format that is so different from the ranked experience. The menu to access skins etc.. also feels a but awkward.
    Anyway, if you love CS, or Battlefield, R6S is for you. This is the ultimate tactical shooter.    … Expand

    The game mechanics are fun, the operators are interesting and the comunity is awesome. Not giving a 10 because, unfortunatly, i ocasionaly find cheaters. I know    This game is just awesome. The game struggles to put the diamonds where they belong because of diamonds queuing with low rank players. It's unfortunate that it's taking so long for them to fix this major issue, however they have hinted at making changes to the matchmaking queuing though, nothing has been confirmed yet.

    All in all this is an incredible FPS game, I'd recommend trying it out. It's not perfect which is why it's receiving a 9/10 from me.    … Expand

    This game is now my main competitive shooter. Its your standard 5v5 attack defend formula but each character has special gadgets and abilities that make them unique. Sunk over 1000 hours in so far and love all new content added since launch.

    4 years later, Rainbow 6: Siege turned into one of, if not, the best shooters in the market. While the learning curve is very steep, the satisfaction of being over a Gold 1 is exceptional. Would recommend for people that take games too seriously and/or competitive players.

Lots of weapons and operatives.Full destructibility of the map, which gives almost complete freedom of action. do you want to play by destroying everything in your path? Do you want to make a hole in the ceiling and kill opponents through it? All this and more can be done! You can also make holes in walls, and kill enemies through . You can come up with different tactical plans, one goes to the point under the smoke, the other puts a deactivator (this is the goal of the attackers), the other covers the two of you, the fourth puts traps to make it harder for the defenders to get to the deactivator .     All around a good game, you have to be tactical and use your head. However, that doesn't mean that you can't mess around, that might be the star of this game. The only complaint is that the hitboxes can be buggy and the hit registration doesn't always seem to work.

    4. Most of the cosmetics are trash. Sure, there are jewels like Black Ice, but those are really rare.
    5. There are WAY too many maps, which are, simply put, garbage. Like, who the heck at Ubi thought that it was a good idea putting Favela and Tower in the map rotation??? Another linked complain are reworks. Some map reworks like Chalet or Theme Park were important and right, But then there are House and Hereford Base. Those were WORSE after their rework, and everybody complains about it, yet we can't have the old ones back.
    6. The balancing is kinda weird. There are WAY too many unneeded changes to Operators.
    Another complain is that Ubi only balances around the Pro League, everyone else gets ignored in terms of balancing.
    7. The Updates are getting worse every season. We are getting less content every year. There hasn't been a new map for almost 2 years now.

    I still love it and play it every day

    After more than 2k hours of playtime I guess the game was worth it's money. Great tactical competitive shooter. It's kind of a hate love though, as Ubisoft constantly breaks something and introduces new bugs with every season. But there's always new content on the other hand.     This is like chess combined with a fps. You have to think before you make a move and choose a operator that fits the map and spawn. You probably will rage a lot though but when you get a kill it will feel soooo good and satisfying. This is like a breath of fresh air from the fast based fps'es that get boring fast. It is very hard but rewarding and i would recommend

    Ce jeu offre pour moi la meilleure expérience fps tactique qui puisse exister. Il y a bien d'autres jeux ou la cohésion d'équipe est nécessaire, mais jamais autant que sur siege.
    Je suis un grand fan de fps tactique et je n'ai jamais autant trouvé mon compte que sur ce jeu, avoir une équipe change absolument tout au gameplay, contrairement au autre fps du même type ou souvent, on peut s'en dispenser. le jeu comporte actuellement plus de 60 agents, cela apporte une diversité de gameplay absolument vertigineuse, à chaque manche nous devons donc choisir un agent qui aura toute son importance sur le déroulement du round, et qui donc, va être décisif.

    Sans oublier les 4 joueurs dans notre équipe qui eux aussi vont avoir un impact sur le round en choisissant des agents et une tactique propre. Cela fait d'autant plus de facteurs que les ennemis choisissent eux aussi leurs agents, c'est évidemment des banalités que j'écris la mais il me semble important d'appuyer sur le fait que chaque partie, chaque round est totalement différent et il va donc être question de savoir s'adapter à chaque situation avec son équipe.

    La stratégie avant le round n'est jamais la même qu'à la fin du round. Ce jeu n'est que constante adaptation, action, réaction, action, réaction. Le jeu est depuis maintenant des années régulièrement mis à jour avec toujours de nouveaux agents et de nouvelles maps.
    L'équilibrage des personnages est particulièrement bien géré de la part d'ubisoft, quelque soit l'agent que vous jouez vous ne serez pas désavantagé par rapport à un autre, et ça dès les premières heures de jeu. Ce fps ne déroge pas à la règle en proposant une flopée de skins disponible pour vos armes et vos agents, absolument TOUS accessibles GRATUITEMENT en ménageant plus ou moins d'heure de jeu.

    Je suis obligée de mettre 1 point en moins du fait que ce jeu est sur le même système de notation que d'autres chefs-d'œuvre d'un tout autre type. La structure même d'un fps tactique est finalement assez répétitive dans la forme : jouer en multijoueur.

    I should note that the tutorial is horrid. And the Scenario mode's gameplay is too punishing to casually learn the game as a tutorial. For instance, I didn't really understand how to remotely ignite explosive charges or understand the uses of drone/ extra drone for a few rounds into the game. So, I hope Ubisoft enhances the tutorial, because it'll deter a lot of new players.

    Oh and another thing: There're way too many non-English speaking players on the game. Can we somehow limit the matchmaking by regions?

    Lastly, I think game will have a hard-time retaining casual-players. There is not gameplay that really stands out to me, and doesn't give players the flexibility to be creative. I would've like to see a feature where users could create their own maps, and a server list for custom games/scenarios where I could play a round with 10 v 10 or 15 v 15 or with Multiple objectives.

    Overall I think the game is well made and really fun. I'm looking forward to any improvements Ubisoft will make to it.    … Expand

    It's nice to have a game where if you play like you're in COD it will more than likely see you dead. It strongly encourages you to play as team and have some sort of strategy rather than being cowboys.

    Played the closed beta and open beta, and I saw some solid game mechanics that could turn this title into a game that would be popular for years.     This is the same studio that created splinter cell blacklist, I would atleast imagine they could implement a balanced flashlight attachment on our guns for example. And making Thatcher able to turn off all lights in a small area would really work well with this, but I'm going off-track..

    All in all, if you ask me if it was worth the money, I would say yes but that's very relative. Some people are less fortunate and I can imagine it not being worth the money for some people.

    Pros: Solid gameplay, good optimization
    Cons:
    -Missed oppurtunities probably due to rushing to release
    -Server issues
    -The whole Operatives thing is tacky

    Unfortunately, there aren’t that many maps available, but each one of them has lots of details and alternate routes, like basements and balconies. Even the airplane is much more complex than the archetypical “long tube with seats.” [Issue#205, p.48]
