Jan 28, 2019This is a good way to spend your free time if you like this type of games. Good graphics, performance and gameplay dynamic.

May 20, 2017Not the best game out there. I honestly don't know how the voice actors stifled their laughter at the inane, jingoistic dialog. But damn if this game isn't crazy amounts of fun. The plot doesn't make sense, lip-syncing doesn't exist, and there is a lack of variety in game mechanics. Despite all this, it is mindless, joyous, childish fun.

Mar 3, 2012A fun arcade-style flight sim to play with friends, although hardcore flight sim fans will find little to like, besides the large hangar of planes available to fly!

Sep 8, 2011This game is pure action and fun. It is not a simulation by any means, but it's not supposed to be.
I personally love it and know many others that do too, and it still has a multiplayer community today. -
Jul 26, 2011Enjoyed this more than I thought I would! A very arcade-like shooter, missions are varied enough, good graphics.
Story is typical Tom Clancy, and serves as nothing more than a shoelace to tie the missions together. Would also recommend gamepad for gameplay, I found mouse+keyboard combo a bit weird for flightsim -

AkseliEJan 21, 2010I myself am a hardcore flight sim man to the bone. I decided to try this to have a good game to zero my brain activity between IL-2 and DCS: Black Shark. Does what it promised, very good "just blast everything to bits" type of fun in middle of long HC sim stretches. Works for my needs just perfectly.

JakeBDec 21, 2009Easy to fly with a joystick and keyboard. Coop mode multiplayer support, achievements for completing campaign unlock weapon loadouts, and new jets. My favorite is the A-10 Warthog. Directx 10.1 supported

timsJun 9, 2009good single player mode, but 2 full months after buying it (retail, not steam) and after multiple correspondence with ubisoft support, MULTIPLAYER IS STILL NOT WORKING despite trying all of their suggested fixes, including completely disabling any and all firewalls, antivirus software, and putting your computer straight out onto the internet and completely open to attack

BananaPhoneMay 3, 2009You guys are weird. The controls on this game is really good, just use the keypad instead of the mouse! The graphics are very good if your computer is up-to-date. I've been playing it on the PC and I've had no problems with it at all. I was looking for a simulator, but I found something even better! The gameplay, however, does get a little repeptitive.

PaulMay 2, 2009A pretty uninspired arcade shooter. Dogfighting feels mechanical and detached, due to the insane number of missles, general disregard for tactic, and lack of gunfighting, and the overall theatre of combat just feels contrived and lacks life. A glossy, shallow, poor effort.

AFermentolMay 1, 2009I didn't expect combat sim, just arcade, but even at that it largely fails. It's fun for about 10 minutes, everything after that is just the same, lock on target, fire. Every single arcade shooter i've played up to this point was more entertaining than this.

AKayApr 18, 2009Technical problems and awkward controls make for a frustrating experience. The OFF mode would have been so much better if it didn't rewrite the controls and force you into an obnoxious camera angle. If you've never played the Ace Combat series, you'll probably think higher of this game. If you have, you'll realize that it can be done better.

JoshGMar 29, 2009Entertaining when it works, pc platform is plagued with so many problems that after a while it really makes you want to give the game a bad review. But... Because I have so much playing it when it does work, i'll keep my review fairly neutral.

SMonkeyMar 28, 2009Dull, too easy, what a disappointment. Hardly ever challenges ans very small battle areas. Like Endgame this simply lacks the quality of many other PC games. I am really going off Tom Clancy titles.

TakeshiJMar 23, 2009Awesome game, however the single player missions get extremely repetitive of fly here, blow this up, fly here, blow more of this up. However the co-op was loads more fun than the single player, and though I haven't tried versus, I can't wait to dogfight with other people :)

Awards & Rankings
-
It’s disappointing that the multiplayer doesn’t take advantage of the opportunities established by the rest of the game’s design, but the four-player co-op is a very welcomed addition.
-
The online play -- particularly co-op -- gives HAWX significant replayability. Everything from the picture-perfect planes to the stunning real world environments looks great, even after multiple passes.
-
The presentation of the game is nicely polished for the most part. From a distance, everything looks really good in-game. Up close, however, H.A.W.X kind of suffers from what most flight games do – bad terrain!
