Sep 8, 2011This game is pure action and fun. It is not a simulation by any means, but it's not supposed to be.
I personally love it and know many others that do too, and it still has a multiplayer community today. -
Mar 3, 2012A fun arcade-style flight sim to play with friends, although hardcore flight sim fans will find little to like, besides the large hangar of planes available to fly!

AKayApr 18, 2009Technical problems and awkward controls make for a frustrating experience. The OFF mode would have been so much better if it didn't rewrite the controls and force you into an obnoxious camera angle. If you've never played the Ace Combat series, you'll probably think higher of this game. If you have, you'll realize that it can be done better.

timsJun 9, 2009good single player mode, but 2 full months after buying it (retail, not steam) and after multiple correspondence with ubisoft support, MULTIPLAYER IS STILL NOT WORKING despite trying all of their suggested fixes, including completely disabling any and all firewalls, antivirus software, and putting your computer straight out onto the internet and completely open to attack

May 20, 2017Not the best game out there. I honestly don't know how the voice actors stifled their laughter at the inane, jingoistic dialog. But damn if this game isn't crazy amounts of fun. The plot doesn't make sense, lip-syncing doesn't exist, and there is a lack of variety in game mechanics. Despite all this, it is mindless, joyous, childish fun.

It’s disappointing that the multiplayer doesn’t take advantage of the opportunities established by the rest of the game’s design, but the four-player co-op is a very welcomed addition.
-
The online play -- particularly co-op -- gives HAWX significant replayability. Everything from the picture-perfect planes to the stunning real world environments looks great, even after multiple passes.
-
The presentation of the game is nicely polished for the most part. From a distance, everything looks really good in-game. Up close, however, H.A.W.X kind of suffers from what most flight games do – bad terrain!
