    My gosh! No matter what think about Ubisoft, you can't say they skim on content. What was first a poor attempt to capitalise on micro-transactions has turned into a more than adequate sequel to Wildlands.

    As always the visuals and sound are bang on. Really, the attention to detail is spectacular! From the way your character walks on patrol to the amount of dirt that builds up on their    My gosh!     As always the visuals and sound are bang on. Really, the attention to detail is spectacular! From the way your character walks on patrol to the amount of dirt that builds up on their uniform, very impressive. Absolutely stunning world filled to the brim with an array of different bi-oms that create a great atmosphere for the setting. And that setting is a fictional island that sets the stage for the 'futuristic' story. It is a hell of a lot more cinematic than it's predecessor and features some great talent to boot! Even though I found the sci-fi setting less grounded than Bolivia, it still hits all the right notes. But I'm hardly scratching the surface because there has been a tone of content added since this game inception. All of which twist and weave through different story lines that aim toward the liberation of the island as a whole. Some of which feature cameos from Rainbow Six, Sam Fisher and even Terminators! As much content as there is, the stirring negative point is the repetitive nature of all the added DLC that has been thrown together. Each mission seemed to be sewn with the same scenario's again and again, very rarely deviating from the proven formula. But when the game-play itself is pretty solid, that's not completely a bad thing.

    Like Wildlands, I found the strength in the game-play. Originally, the game's progression was centred around weapon upgrades and reduced to a major grind. On release, the overall experience was heavily criticised for sitting behind a substantial 'pay-wall'. But now, with the option to turn the settings (controls, progression, combat etc) to play like Wildlands, the whole experience is pretty stream-lined. Even to the point of re-adding team mates back to the mix! As repetitive as it was, I enjoyed myself as much as I did in the previous title. It would be very hard for me to put my hand on my heart and say “I didn't have fun”. The gun-play is solid and you have complete freedom to tackle each mission as you choose. On top of all that, this game is very much aimed toward multiplayer and switching between single player is a breeze.

    I do miss the origins of Ghost Recon that was focused on tactical game-play. It is a whole different beast all together now and must be taken for what it is. It suffers from all the 'Ubi-soft-isims' that tire most people, but there is no shortage of casual fun to be had. If it is your bag, well worth the price, considering the fixes that have been made since launch.    … Expand

    Ubisosft should remember and focus on game mechanics that are actually fun to play instead of just **** massive open worlds with nothing cool in it into the world. The geography and building complexes are very good but its just not fun to play this more than 15 hours.
    I just cannot understand why there is no game in the game.

    My issue is not so much that it is a "boring game", because it is the same repetitive copy/paste formula you would expect from an Ubisoft open world game. Rather, despite some patches of fun and immersive sections the game is ridden with technical issues, the kind that require a hard reset of your machine. It is also worth noting that this is not a tactical shooter, it's more of an RPG. InMy issue is not so much that it is a "boring game", because it is the same repetitive copy/paste formula you would expect from an Ubisoft open world game. Rather, despite some patches of fun and immersive sections the game is ridden with technical issues, the kind that require a hard reset of your machine. It is also worth noting that this is not a tactical shooter, it's more of an RPG. In fact, it is very much Farcry or Assassin's Creed without the engaging story and addictive gameplay loops.

    As for the monetization, it's all there as other users are reporting. However, I think the complaints are fairly exaggerated. After about 20 hours I have not felt pressure to visit the in game store, and I'm not being pestered by it, so it's easily ignored.

    If you're a Wildlands fan, should you buy it? Sadly, probably not. In my opinion you will be disappointed. I purchased a month of Uplay+ and it's something I play on the side. In that sense it's worth it to me. Otherwise, I'd skip it and play Division 2 or the other aforementioned games instead.    … Expand

    I really do enjoy realism, but, this game misses the mark entirely in a ton of aspects. The AI are terribly unaware even in the hardest difficulty, the "special operations soldier" you play as wears most of his gear like he's never actually worn any of it in a combat scenario (mags in pouches are facing the wrong direction, plate carriers are worn in a fashion that barely cover vitals, my M4A1 uses STANAG mags but I carry PMAGS, etc..) I could go on about that but I feel as though most people don't care about those things, or they're just unaware of it.

    I am enjoying most of the story but when I got to the part where I had to kill Walker I was extremely upset with how awfully set up the fight was. Abysmal even. The devs have completely raped Tom Clancy of anything he stood for. Not going to spoil how awful it was. But, **** realism.

    Anyways to keep my review more concise; the map is beautiful, the recycled features are a little better than Wildlands imo, if you don't want to give them more money don't buy anything, the 3rd person shooter bug kinda sucks balls, I hate this Division/GR baby they made, they should've remained separate games,

    I will admit that these baguettes did a 10/10 job at completely killing any and all reputation that the new Ghost Recon titles will ever have. You AAA developers and CEOs need to figure it the **** out or you're going to be running out of money in the near future.    … Expand

    Ghost Recon: Breakpoint I think is a downgrade from Ghost Recon: Wildlands if you can view it that way.

    Why is it a downgrade? For one, the "central hub" it has a lot of vibes from Destiny 2 where everyone can meet in this cave to sync up or connect with friends or randoms, buy and sell loot/gear, upgrade gear, get quests and missions and so much more. The loot is now colorized. Ubisoft    Ghost Recon: Breakpoint I think is a downgrade from Ghost Recon: Wildlands if you can view it that way.

    Why is it a downgrade? For one, the "central hub" it has a lot of vibes from Destiny 2 where everyone can meet in this cave to sync up or connect with friends or randoms, buy and sell loot/gear, upgrade gear, get quests and missions and so much more. The loot is now colorized. Ubisoft needed a way for you to show off your rare and legendary gear so they added colorized tiered items like what you find in The Division 2. Ubisoft literally mixed three games into one game somehow and it's ugly. In Wildlands you had the ability to control your AI partners to have them shoot in specific spots or sync shots, a core mechanic in Ghost Recon games. In this game, Unisoft removed AI partners, so that means they forced online co-op, if you don't like it too bad. Breakpoint turned into a microtransactions heaven, they had the decency to even put them in the Beta to "test the water." Wow

    Performance wise, it ran horrible on my Intel Core i5-6600 and 1070, but now with my 3900X, it runs smooth like cutting butter. Breakpoint just like Wildlands or Battlefield, it's very CPU heavy.

    At the moment, it's not worth $60 nor playing or downloading the Epic Games client for one game and it's not worth it trusting uPlay/Ubisoft with your payment method. You aren't missing out much if you don't play Breakpoint, go buy Wildlands on Steam when it goes on sale for $12 (which is regularly does). If you don't like Wildlands, buy The Division 2 on Steam. Thankfully I didn't spend the $60 on this game, my job did.

    P.S. - Single-player, you need to connect to Ubisoft Servers in order to play the campaign. Nice    … Expand

I find that the overall game design, gameplay loop and open world much better in the predecessor. A huge emphasis on the open world, because Breakpoint is afflicted with what I think is a boring and repetitive level design that made traversing and exploring easily one of the most exhausting and dull I've felt among the plethora of open world games I've played.

    I cannot say much about this game on launch, as I have heard the initial looter shooter design and predatory microtransaction was abhorrent, but the way I experienced it on a game configuration similar to Wildlands, along with free DLCs on the standard edition -- I'd say this game is okay in this regard.    … Expand

    Apparently,Ubisoft thinks everything can be a RPG game,so they did the wrong decision,Also,the game is unfinished and there are massive bugs.My experience would not be that kind if I didn't play with my friend.

    With that being said - This game is like taking GR: Wildlands, the good stuff from The Division 2, and then merging the two games together. There are new Item Level mechanics, crafting systems, map, characters, guns. There are a lot of assets that were re-used from Wildlands in the form of gun models, textures, sounds, etc. but this doesn't bother me a ton because I thought they weren't in need of a massive re-do in this department anyway.

    The single biggest complaint with this game, and seems to be a recurring theme for Ubisoft developed titles, is that the menu navigation and design is G A R B A G E. Navigating through the mission objectives page, inventory menus, gunsmith, and just the menu in general is designed poorly. Too many keybinds change depending on what menu you're in, and just overall the clarity of the menus is awful. I'm not going to hold it against this game specifically too much though, because it seems to be a recurring theme with Ubisoft titles.

    IMO - If you enjoyed Wildlands, you will enjoy Breakpoint. If you didn't enjoy Wildlands, you aren't going to enjoy Breakpoint.    … Expand

    Played 30 Hours on Single Player & Multiplayer using Uplay+. The game is fun when you play co-op and competing on multiplayer is quite fun as well.

    I have a few things to point out about the game: - Single player is fun for about 8-10 hours. After that, its just a grind. - Microtransations on this game is not compelling enough to spend a dime on.     First, micro transaction. Yes, it is happening. But is it pay-to-win? No. If someone wants to fast-track progress on his own single-player game, or “cheat” on his own single-player game, that’s their choice and I don’t see any problem of it as long as it does not give him/her advantage over other players in PVP, which will not since player stats are normalized in Ghost War. It is annoying that some cosmetics are locked behind pay wall and I feel the frustration. I agree it will be better if those customizations are free for all. But majority of the items are unlockable through gameplay and ignoring the store does not impede your gameplay much. You still have the experience. So yes I wish there are more free stuffs but for now I am fine with the store.
    Combat wise, it still has the basic ghost recon formula and it is still satisfying landing headshot with a sniper rifle or storming a building and give every enemy you encounter a 12-gauge on the face. It works well for me and I enjoy the gun fight pretty much. The CQC animation is also improved from wildland. Instead of just try to suffocate your enemy, your nomad use his/her knife and show off some fancy moves. It’s a welcoming change. Yet, one issue that undermines the combat experience is the enemy AI, especially the human’s. They mainly just rushed you, or just stay behind cover and do nothing. The latter is more understandable as they try to avoid sniper fire. But rushing is rather stupid, especially inside a building. A way to quickly clear out the enemies is to sneak into a building, place some mine at the stairs, alert the enemy, and crouch at the end of a corridor and wait for the enemies to trip over your mine and line themselves up in front of you for your perfect headshot. It is fun at the beginning but it quickly loses its charm. The most disappointing enemy type is the Wolves. These so-called elite soldiers may hit harder and take a few extra bullet to kill (if not headshot), but their behavior is exactly the same as the normal grunts. In comparison, drones do much better work 
    In terms of gameplay, it is still very much wildland template, but slightly more straight-forward in terms of main story progression. But it is still the same routine. Get to a base, find clue, go to the next and repeat until you reach your final target. It is standard, but to be honest not very engaging especially after the initial few hours. There are considerably more side quest in breakpoint than in wildland and a few of them is intriguing. For example, Mads asks you to find out what happen to his cold-war buddy and you end up solving a mystery. But I am really disappointed that there are no AI teammates. While the game is not too difficult that they are necessary, without it does feel something is amiss. When you are trying, it is… just so quiet. It misses the sense of brotherhood and I do miss the chatter and jokes when travelled through Bolivia with my AI teammates. Another immersion killer is the social hub. You are stranded alone behind enemy line but inside your safe house you have 50 different strangers in every possible costume crowding around the NPC you need to talk to… Oh man
    Most of the surviving elements are not important. You will get injured in the fight sure, but there is nothing a syringe can’t fix. Eating and other survival option can give you temporary buff but most of time they are not a necessity. The only thing I like is the movement restriction. In wildland, you have to be careful not to climb or descend slope that’s too steep or you will lose control and fall and roll. It makes you feel your character as human, who can’t just walk up a steep slope like it’s nothing. It really enhances the realism for me.
    And Ubisoft did not really dig deep enough in terms of characters and story. Most of the characters are indeed shallow, without back stories and simply bland. Jon Bernthal did a good job performing Cole Walker. But the story itself does not give the character much soul. You hardly encounter him in your story progression. Most of his scenes are flashbacks that do not tell much about him. Same for the elite wolf lieutenants. Those characters can have intriguing background that makes players more interested but instead there are just brief description or one or two piece of evidence that show nothing significant about them. I would think Ubisoft did a better job in Wildland in terms of character development. La Gringa for example.
    And I agree with the majority that gear score is pointless in a GR series.
    So I gave a passing score of 7 out of 10. It has its moment of fun and excitement but it definitely needs more polishing and updates.    … Expand

    Played the open beta, wasn't home for the close beta but didn't miss the open one, so loved the open beta and played the 3 days with friends and was a blast, the co-op is great, graphics wise is probably the best game of 2019, got the game and started playing day 1-10-2019 and still playing, haven't played anything else since 26-09-2019 because of Ghost Recon Breakpoint and the fun i amPlayed the open beta, wasn't home for the close beta but didn't miss the open one, so loved the open beta and played the 3 days with friends and was a blast, the co-op is great, graphics wise is probably the best game of 2019, got the game and started playing day 1-10-2019 and still playing, haven't played anything else since 26-09-2019 because of Ghost Recon Breakpoint and the fun i am having with friends, tried the pvp "Ghost War" and seems fun, not all are roses game needs some tweaks and there are bugs all over but nothing game breaking, i do recommend this game, i like the story and seems good enough, the story could be more engaging and better written but i still think they did a good job, the gameplay side is great and i am now xp level 30 the cap, class level 10 the cap and gear level 203 not sure what is the cap.
    The game gave me at the moment 42 hours more the 3 beta days not sure how many hours but at least 20h more so probably 60h total at least of great fun and i hope i don't get bored, i can put some game hours and for those that can't put the game hours there are some micro transactions on the store, i haven't bought any cause i didn't felt the need but think some might, think they took some out the store and i'm glad they did, lot's of people were trash talking Ubisoft because of it, but this days youtubers and "reviewers" do that for all games that come out.    … Expand

    Positives:
    + The open world is massive and beautiful with a lot of interesting places to explore.
    + The general gameplay is fun. So like in Ghost Recon Wildlands for example, roaming around the world in various ways, killing enemies in stealth or full assault.
    + Co-Op is great fun just like it was in Wildlands.
    + There's a huge amount of main and side missions to do.
    + A lot less cheap deaths than in Wildlands (e.g. dual uzis from 100m distance).
    + I personally like the whole injury system. Something about limping from cover to cover in combat is thrilling and fun.
    + I like the fact that there are different classes with their own special equipment and apparently there's gonna be more of them in the future.

    Mixed:
    ~ The mission pin system could use some work (you can pin up to three different missions but they'll cover like 1/3 of your screen and if you hide them with tab, you'll also hide the map).
    ~ The menus are pretty confusing at start but after some time you'll be going through them with ease.
    ~ Dismantling single items is pretty quick but it's a bit tedious to do it on a dozen of them (could possibly be fixed with a 'dismantle all' button or something).
    ~ You spend a lot of time changing your equipment but I guess you could just not do that whenever you get something new.
    ~ The A.I. squad you had in Wildlands is gone but I personally wouldn't care less.
    ~ Borrows a lot of things from other games but they're implemented just fine.

    Negatives:
    - The enemy A.I. is just dumb at times (e.g. running in circles or just standing still when their friend died next to them) and could be slightly harder.
    - The shop feels kinda pointless except for buying cosmetic stuff.
    - Some slightly annoying bugs related to changing your skin overlay and actual equipment.
    - Some visual bugs.
    - Some network related problems I guess but I haven't been affected by them so far.
    - The 'time savers' if they ever come back.

    TL:DR, the game might not be the most original piece out there but it certainly isn't terrible. If you liked Ghost Recon Wildlands, you'll probably enjoy Breakpoint as well.    … Expand

    It's now been a couple weeks and I am hooked. I've played the entire game so far single player. It plays like Sniper Elite 4, and although I want to have my ghost team back, this is a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The gameplay is solid and is what you come to expect from GR:W. And the game is absolutely gorgeous- everytime I enter the game I am overwhelmed with how realistic everything looks. Playing almost entire on Ultra 1440p, with an i7 7700k and a 1080 graphics card. It is absolutely stunning to see, particularly with grass swaying nearby or distant mountain backgrounds. Add to that, the atmosphere and the ambient sound effects- from animals nearby to the wind blowing across the trees. Gunshots ring out and sound so realistic. If you have some noise cancelling headphones and enable DTS sound effects through windows, it is mindblowing.

    Where this game struggles is the AI and the implementation of the division gamestyle gear. The way gear is tiered just doesn't work- a level 42 cap will give you better protection than a level 40 helmet? Come on. Same for weapons- you can literally keep the first rifle at the beginning of the game and use it all the way to the end. They should have kept the gear system from the last GR game.

    The AI is just bad. You can snipe three enemies before they react- they get this deer in the headlights look. I thought these were professional soldiers? If you're caught in a base, it's easy to hunker down and just let enemies come through the doorway like lemmings. I guess they've never heard of grenades or flashbangs.

    Despite this, I keep wanting to go in and explore this open world- it still is fun casing out bases and planning to sneak in, and I don't even care if I get caught. The story is meh at the most- I've skipped most of the cut scenes. I just want to go in and shoot stuff!!

    Bottom line: totally worth it for Uplay+ 15 bucks. Finish it in a month and be done with it.

    Side note: Am I the only one that wants a ghost recon: Afghanistan???    … Expand

    This game has some mechanics that i like and i want to like this game. Feels like a Ghost Recon trying really hard to be like an Assassins Creed game, but feels much cheaper and unpolished. The wold of this game is lifeleess ai is bad. It's even worse than Wildlands one. The combat makes more sense than Division's.The fans of old Ghost Recon wont like this game.

    Outside of the myriad of BS surrounding the game with the monetization and Ubisofts moronic belief that they would get away with over doing it. You can have fum with it but it's very subjective but the game lacks in many aspects. So after further review I have to lower my score to under 7.

    I jsut started playing the game during the free trial weekend. I was hyped for this game pre release but then i heard about how awful the game is on release and still is. Like VERY poor ratings. I honestly dont see how this game has such low ratings. The game looks beautiful. IT runs smoothly for me. I havent seen any bugs at all yet but imsure ill run into some the more i play. Breakpoint's story has a more serious tone to it which worked in immersing me into its world.

    Wildland's had you investigating ways to take down a cartel, which was cool until you realize that you never did any investigation to begin with, instead you were guided through the entire mission, constantly being pointed where to go. Breakpoint offers players the same hand-holding that Wildlands did, while also allowing players to opt out, and actually put in the leg work in accomplishing their missions through their so-called "exploration mode"

    I love the increased customization available for your weapons, not only do we get things like optics, laser pointers, and other attachments, you can now also adjust the stats of your weapons. Through the use of upgrade parts obtained by dismantling unwanted firearms, you can increase reload speeds, damage, range, and more through upgrades through gunsmith.

    I don't have any opinion on the microtransactions for this game as I never partake in any microtransactions. I have not felt limited in my enjoyment of the game, what I do hate is the fact that the game has to constantly be connected to the internet. What happens when it comes time to shut the servers down? I'll just be stuck with an always online game that wont ever work? This kind of DRM has always brought my piss to a boil.

    Overall this game deserves more than the 2.2 user score, i'd say a solid 7/10    … Expand

    Its not a good game, but not a bad game, I mean the story its not as entretaining as it looks at the begginning but what makes the game entrertaining and fun is the gameplay and the freedom they give you in this open world, the bad thing is the poorly AI of the NPCs and Cinematics are a littlebit poorly made, but its good because graphics are soo good and you can have fun with your friendsIts not a good game, but not a bad game, I mean the story its not as entretaining as it looks at the begginning but what makes the game entrertaining and fun is the gameplay and the freedom they give you in this open world, the bad thing is the poorly AI of the NPCs and Cinematics are a littlebit poorly made, but its good because graphics are soo good and you can have fun with your friends in this game in coop.     Even with my poor score of a 5, I am still having fun in the game. It's an interesting mix between GRWL and Destiny 2. While I can see that scores are dropping off the chart due to the micro-transactions, I can say that they give those transactions too much credit. I honestly cannot tell the difference in fighting with a green weapon, vs a blue weapon, vs a purple weapon, vs a goldEven with my poor score of a 5, I am still having fun in the game.     That said, the game is good. Pros: * The storyline is great. * Lots of missions. * Lots of load-outs. * Specialization for the character makes every char unique. Cons: * The game is buggy as hell at this point. * Slow loads, slower than that even. On an SSD reloading the    Warning, there are people claiming the game is play to win. These people have not played the game.

    That said, the game is good.

    Pros:

    * The storyline is great.
    * Lots of missions.
    * Lots of load-outs.
    * Specialization for the character makes every char unique.

    Cons:

    * The game is buggy as hell at this point.
    * Slow loads, slower than that even. On an SSD reloading the game when you get killed takes minutes.
    * Keys will stop working during action sequences.
    * Base jumping does not work on PC at this time.
    * Bad guys inevitably spot you from three times farther than you would normally.

    Avoid until they fix the bugs and the price goes down.

    Yes the game leaves a lot of the good things from Wildlands out for something new and different but after having finished Wildlands main story after 42 hours I wanted to get more of the same in a different package so I bought Breakpoint. Even tho the basic formula remains the same the game environment feels a lot different due to the world. Even tho the basic formula remains the same the game environment feels a lot different due to the world. The world in Wildlands feels more alive and more vivid as so does the gameplay with more options and things you can do like call in Rebels for support. On Breakpoint you lose those things and you can tell the difference but at the same time it has something that makes it engaging and fun for a little while. Considering I only paid $10 for this game (Same for Wildlands) I have no regrets with my purchase. Not saying Wildlands is a solid 10, its more like a 7.5 or 8 its a pretty fun game but Breakpoint is more like a 6.5 or 6.8 out of 10. Overall if you completed Wildlands and like me are looking for more of the same because you enjoyed Wildlands Breakpoint gets the job done but with a few set backs compared to the original formula. This game by no means deserve anything below a 5 it just doesn't make sense even a 4 is okay but anything below seems like people exaggerating and making pointless remarks about the game in general.
    Ubisoft often has Breakpoint on sale for $10 if you can grab it for that price I would say its worth it.

    While we wait for the hopeful announcement of a new Splinter Cell game in the future, Tom Clancy’s fans will be happy to know that Breakpoint is actually fun, now. The new Ghost Mode solved many of the issues that plagued the original version, and while it isn’t fully healed from its painful stint as a non-Ghost Recon game, the latest entry in the franchise is trying its best to course-correct. If you are one of the many people who were put off by it at launch, I would recommend you try and give it a try now – just like the eponymous Group for Specialised Tactics, Ubisoft might yet turn this near-miss of the series’ breakpoint into a franchise victory.
