Ghost Recon : Breakpoint combat and stealth is challenging and fun, but the rest of the game is pretty bland. Boring conversations, boring teammates, boring world, boring traversal system etc. There's no radio, no teammates chatter.
Ghost recon wildlands is a far better game. If you want tactical shooters, go buy GR Wildlands, or buy this game at a discount .

My gosh! No matter what think about Ubisoft, you can't say they skim on content. What was first a poor attempt to capitalise on micro-transactions has turned into a more than adequate sequel to Wildlands.

As always the visuals and sound are bang on. Really, the attention to detail is spectacular! From the way your character walks on patrol to the amount of dirt that builds up on their uniform, very impressive. Absolutely stunning world filled to the brim with an array of different bi-oms that create a great atmosphere for the setting. And that setting is a fictional island that sets the stage for the 'futuristic' story. It is a hell of a lot more cinematic than it's predecessor and features some great talent to boot! Even though I found the sci-fi setting less grounded than Bolivia, it still hits all the right notes. But I'm hardly scratching the surface because there has been a tone of content added since this game inception. All of which twist and weave through different story lines that aim toward the liberation of the island as a whole. Some of which feature cameos from Rainbow Six, Sam Fisher and even Terminators! As much content as there is, the stirring negative point is the repetitive nature of all the added DLC that has been thrown together. Each mission seemed to be sewn with the same scenario's again and again, very rarely deviating from the proven formula. But when the game-play itself is pretty solid, that's not completely a bad thing.

Like Wildlands, I found the strength in the game-play. Originally, the game's progression was centred around weapon upgrades and reduced to a major grind. On release, the overall experience was heavily criticised for sitting behind a substantial 'pay-wall'. But now, with the option to turn the settings (controls, progression, combat etc) to play like Wildlands, the whole experience is pretty stream-lined. Even to the point of re-adding team mates back to the mix! As repetitive as it was, I enjoyed myself as much as I did in the previous title. It would be very hard for me to put my hand on my heart and say “I didn't have fun”. The gun-play is solid and you have complete freedom to tackle each mission as you choose. On top of all that, this game is very much aimed toward multiplayer and switching between single player is a breeze.

I do miss the origins of Ghost Recon that was focused on tactical game-play. It is a whole different beast all together now and must be taken for what it is. It suffers from all the 'Ubi-soft-isims' that tire most people, but there is no shortage of casual fun to be had. If it is your bag, well worth the price, considering the fixes that have been made since launch.

Step-down in comparison to the Wildlands. There's no traffic on the island and the settings is way more generic. But Jon Bernthal was a nice addition, I'm always happy to see him.

Graphics remind of a 2007 game (I play on GTX1080 Ultra settings): Everything is so low detail and has that wet effect even if it is sunny. Character models are disgusting up close (zooming with scopes you realize your fingers have no details like fingernails etc). Anything not on the menu screen is low-res. It seems like they only paid

The game is made with a similar flavor as Ghost Recon: Wildlands, but made with variations and changes that are either a hit or miss. I find that the overall game design, gameplay loop and open world much better in the predecessor. A huge emphasis on the open world, because Breakpoint is afflicted with what I think is a boring and repetitive level design that made traversing and exploring easily one of the most exhausting and dull I've felt among the plethora of open world games I've played.

I cannot say much about this game on launch, as I have heard the initial looter shooter design and predatory microtransaction was abhorrent, but the way I experienced it on a game configuration similar to Wildlands, along with free DLCs on the standard edition -- I'd say this game is okay in this regard.

Even tho the basic formula remains the same the game environment feels a lot different due to the world. The world in Wildlands feels more alive and more vivid as so does the gameplay with more options and things you can do like call in Rebels for support. On Breakpoint you lose those things and you can tell the difference but at the same time it has something that makes it engaging and fun for a little while. Considering I only paid $10 for this game (Same for Wildlands) I have no regrets with my purchase. Not saying Wildlands is a solid 10, its more like a 7.5 or 8 its a pretty fun game but Breakpoint is more like a 6.5 or 6.8 out of 10. Overall if you completed Wildlands and like me are looking for more of the same because you enjoyed Wildlands Breakpoint gets the job done but with a few set backs compared to the original formula. This game by no means deserve anything below a 5 it just doesn't make sense even a 4 is okay but anything below seems like people exaggerating and making pointless remarks about the game in general.
Ubisoft often has Breakpoint on sale for $10 if you can grab it for that price I would say its worth it.

The world is great, it's very New Zealand-ish, with bright colours, and gorgeous environments. The buildings left something to be desired and it was a bit strange to go from survival in the bushes to wandering into a town where people are drinking soy lattes or something.

Combat is good, the enemy AI wasn't very bright but this is not metal gear, it's a run and gun.

Having said that, I had frequent crashes on a PC with a 2070 super card, this is really not something that should occur frequently in an AAA game.

I enjoyed this game, but I felt that the story was lacking, the character of Walker was strong, and Nomad seems to have a few more emotions this time around but i found it very difficult to care about what happened to anyone else on the Island.

Good to kill time, worth picking up now that many of the issues have been fixed.

My run through the game was with one other person, and together, we really did have to plan and coordinate in order to successfully complete missions. We got to explore the entire huge island together, which took plenty of time on its own, and then aside from that got to experience the campaign together and theorize about where the plot was going. There are some issues with bugs and online connection, but that hasn't been a huge issue for me at all. I had to redo maybe three small sections of missions in totoals due to bugs, which was lame, but nothing detrimental to how the game overall. With some minor tweaks, this could be a great game.

I will say the story is nothing to go crazy about, but it certainly isn't boring. You really do feel like your missions are purposeful, even though they're technically all the exact same tasks at different locations. There are plenty of collectibles and little things to look into for people who really are deeply interested in the story. For everybody else, there's so much exploring and upgrading to do to last you weeks.

For the bugs within the game, I've really seen nothing major. I haven't fallen through the map, my game hasn't crashed, and I've never lost game progress. The only real bug issue I've had in being unable to find or pick up intel, or the issue of reching a checkpoint that does register, meaning you can't progress. The few times it happened, I reset and it took less than ten minutes to get back to where I was.

The online connection is bad. I don't play the online so it personally doesn't bother me, but it just doesn't work well sadly.

Bug and server connection need to be top priority for Ubisoft, but after that, they do have a really good game on their hands.

But i dissagree that its unplayable. You can buy everything with real money? True. But most people forgot that this was possible in Ghost Recon Wildlands too. Its optional. And commonly you dont need it.

Aurora has lots of biomes and its way more different than Wildlands.

Best thing! Your progression stays till you die or reload. So you wont get hit by an SAM that you cleared just 2 minutes ago. Loot and vehicles stay. Cleared bases stay cleared and there isnt a strange respawn or unlimited hunters like Unidad.

Weapon and Equipment details are awesome! Ok... I got a 75" 4k setup. So i can enjoy it more than ohters;).

You get a good shooter with a strange gear score system because the developers wanted you to switch between guns instead of sticking to the same gun for the whole game.

Ubisoft always listens to their players. Thats why lots of stuff got removed or weakend after the first tech test. But it also causes lots of improvement like it did in Wildlands.

Wildlands? Commonly helicopter use for transport. Breakpoint? Aurora is so full of stuff and action that i commonly travel by foot. And Aurora is huge! So its a real challenge to keep players on the ground. And a big achievement that it worked.

I would wish for more drones. Including player made ones. Since you get lots of drone parts.
And you can only sell 1 item at a time... Even if you got 200 of it. Kinda annoying but hey... I got lots of hate when i complained about that in RDR2.

Recomendation. Buy it if you like exploration and good gun play. Its designed to be a 4 Player coop game or an immersive Solo experience. They cut down the survival part because of complaints. But they will include it after people complained that its missing.

Ubisoft works to make the game fully custom. So everyone can choose his own experience. I love this idea!

And again... You dont need to buy anything in the real money shop. They even give new players a vehicle and a helicopter for free... So the other packages are only for those who want the Season pass. Just buy the basic version and you will have alot of fun.

Story? ... 70 hours and i only did 2 side quests and the main quest that was the only aviable in closed beta... Why? Because the game offers lots of exploration and interesting challenges. So i didnt cared for the story. Its a shooter after all.

While we wait for the hopeful announcement of a new Splinter Cell game in the future, Tom Clancy’s fans will be happy to know that Breakpoint is actually fun, now. The new Ghost Mode solved many of the issues that plagued the original version, and while it isn’t fully healed from its painful stint as a non-Ghost Recon game, the latest entry in the franchise is trying its best to course-correct. If you are one of the many people who were put off by it at launch, I would recommend you try and give it a try now – just like the eponymous Group for Specialised Tactics, Ubisoft might yet turn this near-miss of the series’ breakpoint into a franchise victory.
