Jesus, what a disappointment... But the game lives up to its name: Ghost Recon Breakpoint allows you, as a ghost, to do some recon, until you eventually break.

Ok, here we go for a solid review, after roughly 40 hours on this game. Let's start with the good: - Jon Bernthal ... Yep, that's it. Let's be real for a moment; this game was supposed to be the follow-up for Wildlands.
Jesus, what a disappointment... But the game lives up to its name: Ghost Recon Breakpoint allows you, as a ghost, to do some recon, until you eventually break.

Ok, here we go for a solid review, after roughly 40 hours on this game.

    Let's start with the good:
    - Jon Bernthal

... Yep, that's it. Let's be real for a moment; this game was supposed to be the follow-up for Wildlands. The previous opus had everything we could dream of: a massive open world quest, in a gorgeous reconstitution of Bolivia. Sure, there were some flaws, but still, the game was fun as hell.

Now, we're in the south Pacific, on a remote lonely island. And even Farcry 3 did a better job at recreating such an atmosphere.

Here, we've got nothing. The island is mostly empty, the game is boring as hell, the quest system is a mess, the AI is dumb as **** (We're fighting Ghosts, and a top-level AI, but it feels like we're facing your local paintball team and asthmatic roombas).

But the main flaw, the one that ruins EVERYTHING, is that they removed the squad system. From the very start of the game, everything is set to make you fell like you're investigating, piece by piece, finding pieces of evidence to find bad guys, who will eventually lead you to the main bad guys. So far so good. But the villains are colorless, the scenario is bad, the dialogues are awful, the NPCs feel like robots. The only good thing is, again, Jon Bernthal playing Colonel Walker.

I bought the game because it was 75% off, and I still feel let down.

Decided to try and refund the game. They will not refund the game. I cant even play on my computer. My specs are way passed recommended specs. The game crashes, freezes to the point of having to hard restart my computer. They "Tried" "everything" and nothing works. I actually sort of enjoyed the game but cant even play it. Spent $90 on this game.

This is what you get when you build a microtransaction store and build a game around it as advertisement: A game build to cater to all Ubi players. It has elements from Assassins Creed, Far Cry, The Division and Wildlands, yet doesn't do any of it right. It doesn't meet up to the quality standards of Wildlands, the animations are mediocre (except for the main villain, that's where the entire budget went) and the gameplay is meh. The UI is overloaded with animations and is so difficult to navigate it's frustrating.
My advice: Stick with Wildlands until you can get this for max 10-20 bucks.

The reasons are various. The first and most important in my opinion (what made me more angry) is the lack of BOTs! Because I have to be forced to play online together with people I don't know and I don't want! If I want a game with these features I buy an MMO! I don't understand this imposition of having to always stay online and above all the BOTs

Another thing, the equipment. Equipment to levels ???? All colored ??? A bullet fired by a green M4 is worse than a blue M4 bullet ??? Make yourself vomit !!!! These things are good in Final Fantasy, NOT HERE!

Ghost Recon Wildland was the perfect game! Everything was there, the real equipment as it should be, the BOTs and the possibility of playing with real people instead of bots for those who wanted it. Satisfying both requests of those who wanted to be alone and those who did not.

So Ubisoft proudly presents us their new game - Ghost Recon: The Division (microtransactions edition). It's an online virtual casino/ clothing/ armor/ weapon shop that no rational, actually thinking gamer ever wanted. You can literally get almot any virtual thing that is in game, even worse - it's pay to win, which means any weapon you buy for real world money to play in singleplayer, you can also use same weapon in PvP, so it's total pay to win. Of course you can also get most of stuff by playing the game, which is sh*t - grinding repetitive quests, daily missions, gathering resources, all the boring and monotonous stuff over and over again for hours. Basically, you have to "live" in this game to actually get items in it, you have to have no real life. Or of course you can buy some in-game credits for a real money, spend an extra let's say 300-500 euros/dollars and get some items, boosters etc in matter of seconds.

So fellow gamers - be sure to put half of your hard worked monthly income into this f**king virtual shop, buy some boosters and some "time savers", support such piece of s**t companies like Ubisoft, to get even more incomplete products in the future.

Full price 60/100/120 euros game, and they adding those f**king microtransactions plus making it pay to win.... Jesus...

Everything, really everything that Ubisoft lays their hands on turns into goddamn garbage. And there's no going back Ubisoft, you f**ked up.

Wow. And none of this is to do with the Beta state of the thing; it's just fifth-rate game design and a horribly compromised basic concept. There is nothing here for the singleplayer gamer at all and it's pretty easy to tell that multiplayer will be generic and vanilla. All the tedious homework building inventory and attempting to power-up your character is so intrusive and distracting from any kind of realistic core tactical combat that it makes Division 2 look like the best tac-shooter on the market. The imminent Call of Duty game could be the worst in the series and it will still be ten times as good as this lamentable, doomed mess of a game. It's really, really horrible. Wildlands was much better and that was a cartoon. I need to play a little Control now, just to remind myself what a well-designed game is.

I am not exaggerating when I say that it's not only garbage, it's garbage by design. This game is designed around the idea of full spectrum profitability; charging the $60 for the game itself and following that up with mobile-style f2p/ptw mechanics.

Putting aside that the game is lousy with bugs to the point of near-unplayability (for now, we'll get to that part later), Everything,
I am not exaggerating when I say that it's not only garbage, it's garbage by design. This game is designed around the idea of full spectrum profitability; charging the $60 for the game itself and following that up with mobile-style f2p/ptw mechanics.

Putting aside that the game is lousy with bugs to the point of near-unplayability (for now, we'll get to that part later), Everything, (literally EVERYTHING!) is built around the prospect of incentivizing you to visit the in-game store. For example; there's an in-game progression cap that refreshes every day that stops you from unlocking everything at your own pace in order to nudge you towards the store to simply buy it. Yes, you read that right; there are free-to-play progression mechanics in a $60 game, and the always-online requirement has nothing to do with character progression as Ubisoft claims so much as it's meant to accommodate this (after all; you can't implement mobile-style f2p/ptw mechanics in a game you can play offline.) What's more, the Gunsmith options (such as barrel length, stocks, triggers, scopes, and foregrips) have been neutered wholesale to instead accommodate different weapon "variants" that fill in the role of the weapon you would otherwise have the freedom to create yourself in Wildlands or Future Soldier, and these variants are not only subject to the aformentioned progression system, but are limited in terms of attachment options to force them into a particular combat role, all in order to push you to buy/unlock the other variants in that weapon tree.

To add to this, the game is in worse shape than it was in the beta. The game has weird problems loading assets in a timely manner that borders on comical, at times; I can't count the number of instances. I completed an objective by airdropping in, doing what I needed to do, and getting out before the game could load the enemies that are supposed to be in my way. Alternatively, there's also been occasions where mission completion was hampered not by the enemies themselves, but instead the fact that the game quite literally FORGOT TO LOAD THE MISSION'S TARGET OBJECTIVE, at which point I turned on guided mode to realize the game was only showing me an objective marker in an empty space where the objective was supposed to be. I am not making this up, and this has happened at least twice a play session.

The framework of an exceedingly average, but functional military shooter with some nice co-op potential is there, but the vision, coherence, and logical in-game progression is absent in favor of a business model, and unless they rework the entirety of this game's business model from the ground up, it absolutely deserves to fail.

Do not buy this game. Don't encourage developers to produce buggy messes of games riddled with microtransactions meant to hedge money from players that have already bought a full price game. If the game is going to have features and mechanics like a free to play game just make it free.

Please pay USD 50 in order to unlock this review and progress to the final paragraph. You can always go through the uninspired and watered down impression of mine until you reach the end by the sheer will of yours. The options are there. The bugs are there. The ridiculous microtransactions are there. You know it, Ubisoft knows it. We are all going to die for our sins...

Full of microtransactions and a myriad of bugs. The one that really made me want to punch my monitor was the fact that everytime I alt-tabbed the resolution would revert to 720p and I'd have to change it, or sometimes it wouldn't even let me tab back in at all.

Certainly NOT a Ghost Recon game. Let's get this out in the open now, if Ubisoft had chosen to produce this game without the "Tom Clancy", "Ghost Recon" or some of the signature characters attached to it, I don't believe that many people would be so upset about the end result. Unfortunately though this game is a Frankenstein's Monster owing far more of its core mechanics to OTHER UbisoftCertainly NOT a Ghost Recon game. Let's get this out in the open now, if Ubisoft had chosen to produce this game without the "Tom Clancy", "Ghost Recon" or some of the signature characters attached to it, I don't believe that many people would be so upset about the end result. Unfortunately though this game is a Frankenstein's Monster owing far more of its core mechanics to OTHER Ubisoft titles such as Far Cry: New Dawn, Assassins Creed: Odyssey and The Divison 2 than ANY relationship with previous Ghost Recon Titles.

Whilst if deemed a stand alone title of an unrelated genre, this game might score at least a mediocre 5/10 based on its solid open world adventure, a relatively interesting story and its plethora of long side missions (Faction missions). However, above that is a game which is an unfocused buggy mess in other respects. Movement is "unnatural", numerous game breaking bugs remain past all the closed and open tests.

However, the largest slap in the face of fans of the more hard core TACTICAL shooter genre is the incidious creep into the game of Looter-Shooter mechanics and full flooded loot boxes. We were led to believe this game, at its core, was about Survival...alone, behind enemy lines, ever hunted...however what we have is an endless wave of loot dropping at our feet and to add injury to insult, a shop...in a CAVE....where we can just buy whatever we feel we might need.

Oh, and the final nail dear gamer, the final nail. Gear...Scores. Often the game will subtily tell you that the level, the fictional and unnatrual strength of the weapons, your gear, isn't "high" enough by allowing you to shoot 30+ rounds into an enemies chest at 5m and for him to just shrug it off...because he happens to be level 100 and you a mere level 15.

Let me just close with a note at the stupidity of the Ai. A significant step down from even Wildlands!! They charge at you, single file to be mowed down or they notice a dead body only to calm down within 2mins as if nothing has happened. They have no tactics, the ONLY reason you can't walk in and kill everyone with abandon is...oh yeah, I forgot, i'm only level 15 and they're level 100.

I could say more but you get the idea. I played for more than 15hrs, at extreme difficulty, hardly used any of the healing items you have, never felt I was threatened or involved in anything. Don't buy this game please.

If we forget about this for a while I have to say that I enjoy the SP story to some degree but navigation through the menus seems to be super awkward. Every new player I come across struggles with it. Definitely not too self explanatory. In general I like to chill in the game and I can in this one but then I noticed something. ATM it seems that to lvl up the gearscore you need to use the highest gear score equipment, so forget about using that nice build you've got there... keep swapping. It wouldn't be that bad but around gear score 200 you will notice that the drops are now more rare, higher gear score wise. I still remember changing equipment frequently, sometimes getting new gun or armor that had +7 more points. Now that I'm 248 (max is apparently 250)... literally I had more than 50 drops and not a single one was higher that 248. This is an artificial wall to keep you grinding. Also looking back at stealth gameplay they improved it a tiny bit but still you shot one guy and 5 seconds later you have whole base on your back. There are ways around it (no spoilers) and now that I know them, the stealth lost its all meaning.
What about multiplayer then? Is it as fun as Wildlands? Well, it had few bugs before todays patch, but... (taking a sip of water) now its even worse. One of my mates was invisible (post patch 16/OCT/2019), but dont you worry, only to us, not the enemies. Invisible furnitures and stuff. Loading lags that force disconnects on the host, which is always fun when hes doing the piloting. It got a bit better nowadays, but still happens. Oh yeah, there are enemies you wont be able to shoot (the drunk drones). Every now and then 5 of those bastards starts shooting you. Funny thing is that they stop moving only when you dont look at them. They killed my party few times, and it took me some running and lucky shots to clear them up. ...what else. Well to be honest if someone gives you the game for free, enjoy it, BUT under no condition buy it. I have never seen as many bugs in the game as in this one. Mission notification appearing after each loading into the game... I've seen this things 50 times already. Mission info not marking as read, making you believe there is new update on mission where there is none, and uon relogging you do this again and again and again. Also and this is SUPER IMPORTANT, as no one talks about it. Half of the missions are currently locked!!! Can you freaking imagine, you cannot finish the game because the missions and locked, SINGLE PLAYER missions are locked! I'm not referring here to gear score lock. Literally the missions are locked in full price game?! WTF?!?!?! Do not buy this piece of .

Truth be told I enjoyed the game for over 60 hours... then they added DLC, sent out a pretty obviously untested patch, crapped all over players who had paid for the game... and proceeded to put on a clinic of what not to do with your community reps and customer support.

    Pros:
If everything worked the game could be a lot of fun to those who enjoy The Division, Borderlands, Destiny, or other looter shooters.

    Cons:
    It doesn't work.

Here are a few of the bugs/issues that weren't urgent enough to hotfix (or in most cases even patch at all).

    1) Your character and save may be deleted. Maybe a couple of hours in, maybe 100 hours of progress in. The only fix suggested, and only after a player suggested it to someone whose character had been deleted, was to make a backup of your save folder on a portable hard drive regularly. Current Status: Still an issue and not on the radar for fixing.
    2) If you use WASD and/or remap your keys... some keys no longer remap though the UI will tell you they did. This affects ALL players. First support rep to speak publicly on it said it was a low priority since you could just not use those keys. Second (after some irate responses to the first) said it was set to be fixed in the next patch. Most recent support rep stated that no... it actually wasn't and they had no timeline. Current Status: Not on the radar for fixing
    3) Unable to play new classes in the paid DLC for new classes. This was fixed after 6 or so weeks and little communication on the issue. Patch just showed up one day (Yay!). Compensation was issued for not being able to play what you paid for 6 weeks... but in many cases, the compensation went to the wrong players. Some who did not buy the DLC were compensated... and many who did were not.

All in all, it's a rather insulting way to treat your customers. The notion that it is acceptable to them for a player to get invested in a game... then basically have it bricked... and not get that communication about fixing the issue is warranted is mind-boggling.

So, there's a chance it might be fun for you if you can work around the keyboard keys you won't be using, and if your character is not deleted. Have fun with that.

Couldn't find the way out to begin a mission. When I finally got a mission loaded I had to fly a helicopter for what seemed like forever to get to the objective. It takes so long to get there you can fall asleep. Although you will find yourself way outnumbered your enemies are ludicrously easy to kill. The firearms really don't have the feel and sound that a gun should. I feel like I'm shooting a pea shooter when I'm blasting with an SMG. It took some looking around for me to finally figure out how to equip a weapon other than a pistol because they don't make it hardly obvious in how to weapon select. Not like in other games. This one had to be different.. The combat is about as stupid as it gets as AI enemies are laughable. The graphics textures are too soft for what is supposed to be an advanced shooter. Absolutely everything is in dark shades. There's no color at all. It's like it's made for people who are color blind. The mountainous terrain really becomes annoying because you constantly find yourself sliding down hills . There's nothing but mountains in this game. Also, you cannot pick up and use captured weapons from dead enemies. And that's just bogus. it's also too easy to run out of ammunition. Anyone thinking about buying this game and want a good shooter? Buy Far Cry 5 or Sniper Elite 4 instead. Those games make this one look like garbage. Expand

I feel like they took a couple steps backwards with this title, there are some things about Breakpoint I really liked however the cons outweighed the pros by far. Added a new camo system where you can bury yourself halfway in mud or dirt (not sure of this actually effects anything versus being prone) it kind of seems like just something to do since the ai in Breakpoint walk right past you if you're prone regardless.

The fact they are trying to push people into playing online with others or PvP making the game only available if you have an online connection. When will developers realize that there are parts of the world that don't have the best internet and sometimes have to wait days to before internet comes back up. Also Don't force ANY game to be dependent on an online server connection, gamers shouldn't have to rely on your servers working to play a game they paid for. If your game doesn't work offline you're doing it wrong.

The overall gear score they added makes no sense to me, you can kill practically everyone with a head shot with any weapon, it's basically filler content and only establishes a player's "level" or how much xp they have. So all the different rares and leveled up weapons make no sense other than just collecting them. Since any weapon can head shot anyone.

It feels like they are trying to push the game into a different genre, the game feels like an inbred version of wildlands & some random shooter looter. Not sure where they are trying to take the series but if they were smart they would stop everything they are doing and re evaluate. Listen to your player base.

The ai is in need of dire assistance, they are literally clueless as to what is going on around them. I shot a npc standing next to another npc and he didn't notice, that was really immersion breaking and for a "AAA" title we should have something in place for that. The game feels like a cookie cutter experience since a lot of the village and town layouts are strikingly similar.

I went back to Wildlands to cure my hankering for some Ghost Recon, Wildlands is def harder and looks better and the ai is def smarter. if only someone would remake the original Ghost Recon and do it right!

It is indeed fun to clear out a base like Rambo, but it doesn't carry the game anywhere near long enough for what the game asks you to put in. The gameplay never evolves beyond what you see in the first hour as compared to the fortieth or even ninetieth hour. What you experience in the first couple of hours, will be what you experience for the rest of the game.

And what will you be doing you ask? Running around a boring lifeless map devoid of any interest, clearing bases of largely the same enemy types, persevering through the wholly unnecessary inventory system and awful navigation menus, and talking to characters that just make you want to shoot them in the face. That's it. It’s a game that will take a lifetime to complete, because you’ll likely kill yourself before you finish it.

Avoid or at the very least wait until it's cheap and experience Rambo for a few hours.

Is Ubisoft trying to put themselves out of business by releasing this poor state and excuse of a game?
Because they did a fantastic job at doing it alright. It makes me never wanting to bat an eye on a Ubisoft game again.

The game can be described in one word-boring! It's beautiful, it's incredibly detailed, but it's very boring! When you play the second half, you want to turn it off! Abby's story is dull and idiotic. And the story that tells us the game is also banal and boring. This is not a masterpiece, this is a normal quality average game.

Simply an empty experience without a real story line. I lost interest in the whole game right at the beginning

    BAD POINTS:
    - The usual unfinished game full of mistakes or think about playing this game only where this game stands out in the cooperative with your lifelong friends will not be the same experience if you go alone.
    - The way in which you send or execute a mission seems like crap makes you see the main missions as secondary putting, when you open the map you have to select the missions

The good thing is the air of feeling a * ghost * a soldier who moves cautiously and kills all enemies.

Graphics are stuck in 2010 even on ultra. The vehicle controls are clumsy and I find myself wasting a lot of time looting, buying gear, and sitting in camps trying to level my character with gear. Gear scores are the worst. I've played about 20 hours of this looter-shooter game with 2 others in multiplayer and we find ourselves bashing the game most of the time. On the contrary, Wildlands was a fun goofing off game than this one. The story is slightly better. The concept of the island and where they wanted to go was in the right direction but not at all executed properly. I won't be preordering from Ubisoft again. I fell into the trap of being hopeful from a very fun and exciting game series that I have put hundreds of hours into. Expand

Ghost Recon Breakpoint really missed a great opportunity to be the next breakthrough game for ubisoft. While the new Assassin's Creed titles brought refreshing new features and exciting new content, Breakpoint convulsively tries to be exciting. What a shame

There are so many bugs. Most of them are immersion breaking. Bugs in CQB kills resulting in me being killed. Poor lipsync in cut scenes. Bizarre gear loadout changes in cut scenes. For example, I'm wearing a Crye JPC plate carrier and primary weapon is an HK416. So for most of the game I appear to have 4 x HSGI Taco single mag carriers with my 5.56mm mags on the front of the plate carrier. Then in a cut scene it sometimes changes to either having 4 x long straight 9mm submachine gun mag pouches, to no mag pouches and a utility pouch on left and from memory a couple of pistol mag pouches on the right. Weird.

The bivouac system is hopeless. You select to set up your bivouac, get a cut scene of setting up what looks like rope to tie down a tent, but there is no tent. You are sitting out in the open, yet somehow you can magically buy new weapons and attachments and clothing in the store, swap out gear items, sell unwanted items, order cars, trucks or helicopters?! Stupid. Why not just a small hut with a couple of settlers or Outcasts, which would at least make it a little more plausible to conduct trading and get support.

Weapon attachments are poorly done as well. I purchased an ACOG and an Aimpoint T1, expecting to be able to mount on my HK416 AR. But for I can't. But I could attach the ACOG to a shotgun?!?! What the hell? For what reason would Ubisoft do this, especially when they are marketing the game and mechanics as being realistic.

All of this is immersion-breaking, and counter to the idea promoted by Ubisoft that this is a survival type game, you're on your own (until you walk into your main encampment and find there are 10 or so other Ghosts in the community hub area that you have to walk through to get to anything else!!!).

The story is poorly developed. Voice acting is wooden (it sounds like some of the voice actors were just bored). The cut scenes are long winded, lack any sense of drama, and the facial expressions on the characters are flat. Voices cut in and out, and the dialogue is sometimes cheesy beyond belief.

Non-player characters in the wild react in bizarre ways, or alternatively don't react at all. I have walked right up to two individual Outcasts in the wild, and they don't even acknowledge my existence.

The slip and slide thing on hillsides is something many complain about, but I like it. If you're out there in the wild on your own, taking care of where and how you walk is important. If you just crouch before you walk down a hill, you can get down more slowly, but safely. However you can then apply this to walking down a 4-5m rock cliff, and somehow get down unscathed. Silly.

I honestly don't care about the microtransaction stuff. Almost everything you need in the game can be found in the wild or purchased with earned game currency. However I am concerned that the desire to monetise everything in the game has led to really poor choices around game design and gear and so forth. Like a Stetson hat which gives me more protection than an Ops-Core FAST ballistic helmet.

Overall I am frustrated and very disappointed. So much potential, but it feels disjointed and poorly built..

    DO NOT BUY!!!

This game is a far cry from its predecessor, Wildlands. Ubisoft should be embarrassed with this product, but that's unlikely as they've already demonstrated their willingness to pervert a stellar title series in the name of money and trendiness.

The game seems like it isn't even a satisfactory product on its own. In this day and age, it's common for titles to come out with some incomplete branches to leave space for DLC. However, Breakpoint seems like a rushed rubber stamp with added flair. I would say it's a sad and disappointing Division/Destiny 2.5. Why the game has to broadcast that you've completed X, Y, and Z tutorial missions every time you load in, I don't know... And why is internet connection required to play single player?

The game handling is cumbersome at best. Vehicle mechanics are poor. Maneuvering behind cover is disorienting and frustrating. Traversing terrain is inconsistent and can be counter-intuitive. The skill tree is quite lackluster and the classes are really just about which weapons you prefer using. The only class that has an ability worth using is probably the sniper with damage and penetration boost. The skill tree, again, is just about boosting certain weapon stats and expanding your inventory.

The inventory wheel itself is very restrictive. Thankfully, you can pause and change out the two actual active items on it. Out of six slots, one is a class item, the other is an infinite med kit, and the other two are passive consumable buffs.

Then, of course, you now have gear score... Which is stupid and pointless. Just like in Division and Destiny, the enemies that start off in the weaker areas scale with you. 10 shots to the face to kill the bad guy at level 1? Still 10 shots to the face at level 100. The only stats that offer any improvement are handling and mobility. Rarity only determines the extra buffs applied to the weapon. I actually picked up an identical weapon with the same buffs, but the gear score was higher... The base gun itself maintains the exact same stats and upgrades are applied universally. Worthless.

Open world environment is standard. Side missions confer no real significance as far as items or any other in-game interactions. You can just scout out distant locations with your drone and just spawn hop all over the place so vehicles are useless anyway. Gear scales with you so you're just as likely to pick up a powerful piece of gear as a random enemy drop as you are from raiding bases and camps for stashes. They felt the need to sprinkle in dialogue options for whatever reason. Rendering is slow and seems about half the distance in comparison to Wildlands. Enemies that are tagged too far when you scout ahead with the drone despawn and then respawn without a tag - especially prevalent with enemy drones. It's just a bunch of wooded and hilly islands with small camps and dispersed compounds - very monotonous and uniform compared to the diverse environments you saw in Wildlands. Occasional convoys are worthless - just mobile chests with escorts.

I'm only playing through it because I bought the piece of junk so I might as well get my money's worth out of it. I rarely buy games at launch, but Wildlands had me hyped up... Faith lost on this one.

"Want EXTP camos? Yes, oh you think you can attain it playing the game! God no! You need to pay an additional $13 CAD to get them!"
Don't buy this game. I didn't and I wouldn't spend a dime on this game and you shouldn't either. I have played the game, borrowed it from a friend who I told not to buy it. He regrets not listening. Seriously save your money.

This game is a complete piece of trash, it's buggy, animations are half-assed, half-assed survival features and more bad content. It feels like every gimmicky thing they've added was to mark a check off their checklist. The world interaction is sub-par, especially for a tactical shooter. Loot mechanics to encourage monetization, and to compensate for their bad AI. I played on extreme btw. Anytime I got caught it never felt like my fault like it would in a game like Metal Gear Solid. Not because it's more complex, but because of the prior complaints I've made.

Microtransactions are the worst. Now my microtransaction policy has always been strict. Which for me I don't want cosmetics, pay to win, or any microtransactions in the 3 months of release. Any microtransaction content released in the first 3 months of a game should be in the base game. This goes for all types even cosmetic.

While we wait for the hopeful announcement of a new Splinter Cell game in the future, Tom Clancy’s fans will be happy to know that Breakpoint is actually fun, now. The new Ghost Mode solved many of the issues that plagued the original version, and while it isn’t fully healed from its painful stint as a non-Ghost Recon game, the latest entry in the franchise is trying its best to course-correct. If you are one of the many people who were put off by it at launch, I would recommend you try and give it a try now – just like the eponymous Group for Specialised Tactics, Ubisoft might yet turn this near-miss of the series’ breakpoint into a franchise victory.
