Whereas I found GRAW for the X360 to be the best 360 game I've played thus far in the console's lifetime, GRAW for the PC has immediately earned a top spot among my personal pantheon of greatest games.
-
Play MagazineWith 16 players and 16 guns blazing, the game is violent bliss, and certainly a war demanding to be fought over and over again. [Apr 2006, p.58]
-
As a package, it's an incredibly complete product of flabbergasting quality; more than any other game, GRAW puts the player in the nerve-snapping tension of pauses between engagements. It thrusts you into the terror of modern, quicksilver-fluid combat.
-
A demanding and gratifying shooter that brings a new level of seriousness to the Ghost Recon franchise. And, perhaps more importantly, restores it to the good graces of PC owners. Provided they've got the horsepower.
-
The world is fully realised, it feels solid and vibrant. The enemies are smart, the allies are smarter.
-
Computer Games MagazineAll it does is present some interesting tactical action, a lot of graphically impressive--if somewhat too amber-colored--carnage, and a lot of intense pointing and shooting. And that's more than enough. [Sept. 2006, p.55]

As shooters go, Ghost Recon is one of the best. Bettered possibly only by "Half-Life 2," this is one for the collection.
-
Shooter fans will be sure to find this a very intensifying enjoyable experience. If you have a monster of a machine to game on, this title will be sure to please.
-
Each level is varied and different from the last, and is easily capable of generating excitement and tension when they see fit.
-
GRAW is sadly flawed but despite these flaws is terrific fun to play. It's wildly addictive as you try and work out the best way through and once you've gotten used to your useless team (we had a team member throw himself under a moving APC..that's talent) it's an excellent tactical shooter.

Pelit (Finland)Looks great and is one of the better tactical shooters in recent history. [June 2006]
-
Yes, I was sick of the same old brown city by the end of the game and, yes, I did hate the stupid checkpoints, but the rest of the game is so enjoyable that I still found myself smiling in spite of those frustrations.
-
It never quite manages to be an excellent tactical shooter, nor is it the most action-oriented of titles, but by combining thoughtful gameplay with some simply brilliant and explosive set-pieces, Ubisoft has managed to create a compelling single player experience.
-
GRAW may be too realistic for gamers that prefer arcadey, twitchy shooters. Its gritty realism and requirement for a methodical approach borders on obsessive-compulsive. For players who appreciate a "thinking man's shooter," it simply cannot be missed.
-
A compelling experience that knows how to get the action spot-on, immersing the player in a well staged, believable conflict from start-to-finish.
-
PC FormatSuperlative urban combat, held back by poor AI and some grinding levels. [June 2006, p.80]
-
It's not impossible to play if you aren't a perfect infantry tactician, while still placing a heavy emphasis on proper strategy on the battlefield.
-
Given Ubi's reputation and the game's undeniable success on the Xbox 360, we were disappointed to encounter so many technical disadvantages. This will undoubtedly ward off a majority of gamers, especially those who had their heart set on playing a decent bug-free PC game.
-
With more online modes, functional interface, and voice chat, the 360 is easily the superior version. Even the PS2 and regular Xbox have voice chat. Until a major patch restores everything that is missing on the PC, GRAW is better suited as a tech demo to test next year's line-up of video cards.
-
While the PC version of GRAW offers the most impressive and expansive campaign, the extreme system requirements and multiplayer headaches make this tactical shooter feel rougher around the edges than it should.
