It certainly doesn't have the purely visual or kinetic appeal of a game like Rome: Total War but there's plenty of depth to be enjoyed here. Fans of turn-based tactical games will find this game to be a really tough and rewarding challenge.

The A.I. remains pretty predictable, so most of the single-player challenge is due to the A.I.'s larger armies. Worst of all, there's no PBEM. With battles lasting for hours, multiplayer games are just too difficult to coordinate and play.
