It certainly doesn't have the purely visual or kinetic appeal of a game like Rome: Total War but there's plenty of depth to be enjoyed here. Fans of turn-based tactical games will find this game to be a really tough and rewarding challenge.

Tin Soldiers: Julius Caesar, is a turn-based strategy game set in...you guessed it! Ancient Rome.
The games graphic is made to represent, just as the title says, Tin Soldiers, like the ones you played with as a kid.
The game is pretty straight forward, you can jump in and still know enough whats going on to enjoy yourself.
But if you take some time and read the manual, you can actually win some battles. Yes, the AI is good and brutally merciless when you **** up, especially on the higher difficulty settings. The battles takes anything from 40 min to over an hour, depending on your skill and setting. There are 14 battles in the campaign, spanning Caesars conquest of Gaul and the following civil war. You can also play custom battles.

A solid game I can recommend.

Would have earned a 9 but for the interface. Good, solid, entertaining game waith an AI that can be frustratingly difficult to outmanoeuvre.
