Blood & Wine is an excellent expansion to an already exceptional foundation. The land of Touissaint is absolutely packed to the brim with content and collectibles. The main story is about Vampires, and is also engaging. The new characters are just as engaging as the old ones ever were. If you get the chance to pick this bad boy up, take it.

this is probably the best DLC ever made. New enemies, new locations, new soundtrack, new items and new, amazing story.
Other developers would sell Blood and Wine as a normal full game, and obviously for ~40$.

I cant just find major flaws of this game. It is essential. Also they give you Physical gwent decks. God damn, buy this Expansion if you are Witcher guy, because it is totally worth it, and its price is cheap.

Toussaint is so charming, that I give 10/10 just for that. Graphics, climate, story, characters, Corvo Bianco and new mutations are just great. A perfect example of how to make a perfect expansion for a perfect price. If you liked Wild Hunt and/or Hearths of Stone you will love Blood and Wine. Buy, play and enjoy.

All i can say is WOW. Most devs would charge 40 bucks for a dlc this size and you know it. Cdpr can take my money all day every day, this is fantastic. I will be playing through this as slowly and carefully as possible, if this really is the last piece of witcher we will get for a long time, im gunna embrace it, take advantage of it, scour it. I hope to get 55-70 hours.

I just started playing this yesterday and all I can say is WOW! There's a whole new area to explore with different monsters characters and new story. The interface is fixed and there have been many tweaks made to the game itself. I will be playing this slowly, embracing the last W3 expansion. Highly recommended!

I've only put in around 10 hours in the DLC and can already say this is another 10 out of 10 game. Witcher 3 is a phenomenal game and the first DLC complemented the main game beautifully. Blood and wine is now doing the same, adding a massive new, beautiful map. Interesting characters, story and places to explore.

This is a must have for any Witcher 3 fan to own. Excellent work yet again!

This DLC alone should be the game of the year 2016. It is really this good and this big.
It makes almost all other full games pale in comparison.

CDPR's definition of DLC is simply on another level. No other dev compares, not with the quality or quality you get for the price asked. This features a stunning new area and dozens of new quest and characters, most of which are better than the base game. If anything deserves a 10, this is it.

Released May. 31 on all major platforms it is abolutely without question a must buy for anyone and everyone that enjoyed Witcher 3.
Blood and Wine includes a huge map, with interesting places and a lot of wine, and french culture.
It starts of with a 'normal' Witcher contract sent out my 'Her Enlightened Ladyship Duchess of Toussaint' to kill and bring the head of The Beast of Beauclair. Quite romantic, no? Along the adventure you may happen upon old and new friends and characters. The world is also filled with interesting sidequests and Witcher Contracts, everything reigning from helping Knights defeat Monsters, and being attacked by living statues. Blood and Wine also includes the great immersion and feeling of liveliness that the main game possess.
The story of Blood and Wine is great. It immerse you in a beautiful and sometimes dark story of love, and murder. Blood And Wine includes multiple ending which makes it very replayable.
The characters have differents views and ideoligies, and It's your job to choose which side you believe is the best. The voice acting is great apart from some moments that bring you straight out of the experience and ruins it for you, although the game is great and it brings you straight back in again. Some character also sound suspiciously ... Swedish?
The game runs just as smoothly as the main game and it is twice as pretty with the beautiful meadows and colourfull environment. I had constant 60fps troughout the entire games without any drops of lag spikes (i5 6600k, EVGA gtx980, 16gb RAM).
The game ends beautifully with Geralt of Rivia talking with a character and they say they need some rest, then Geralt moves his head and eyes and look at you through your computer screen. An incredible message from the developers that they will now take a rest from the Witcher and probably make a new IP. With CD P. Red's new game Cyberpunk 2077 in developement I sure as hell hope thay can bring the same type of quality and love to their next game.

The quests are quite impressive. No single quest feels like a chore to play through. Each quests, even the side quests and witcher contracts, adds a new entry to your index. There's even a quest that references lady of the lake from the Arthurian legend which you'll get a cool sword from. There are also tons of new monsters to slay, each requiring different tactics.

To the expansion. It's even faster paced than the main game and you practically have quest and enemies everywhere on the map. You could even argue it's a bit crowded. ;)

The main story is great and fun like always. Highlights are Geralt's interaction with an old friend from the book.

Also the inventory system has been revamped and for the first time in CdProjekt history is actually user friendly. :)

For me, Blood and Wine was very emotional. Partly because this is Geralt's last adventure, but mainly because the expansion is simply beautiful. Toussaint is gorgeous, the soundtrack is even better than in the original game and the ending is perfect. On top of that, we get the new mutation system, our own vineyard and much more! Before I get started on the expansion itself, I do want to point out some facts regarding the update that preceded this expansion. This game update changed the game significantly, not just with fixing bugs, but also with improving gameplay. It’s clear that the developers listened to client feedback when they made this patch because all of the actions that were troublesome in The Witcher 3 were fixed.

For example, item categorization has been extremely improved, with divisions of types of items. The world map has an improved interface to help speed up navigation. It is also now extremely easy to read through unread notes. There’s now no need to scramble through the inventory to search for unread notes, there’s simply a shortcut key that will detect all unread notes automatically for you to scroll through. This update, available for those who didn’t even purchase the expansion, actually made me revisit the game! I spent several days exploring the world and doing sidequests without even touching the expansion I bought!

Back onto the topic of the expansion. The optional quests definitely aren’t fetch quests. Each one has different characters and have complete voice acting with its own objectives. It may be true that few of the bosses are recycled between an optional quest and a main storyline mission, but it’s not a big deal because the new land introduces many completely new enemy types.

As well, a new gwent deck, the Skellige deck, is added along with a new tournament sidequest. Many people were angry because you have to use the new deck in the tournament in this expansion, but it’s actually quite fun learning how to use another deck and actually makes it a bit more challenging. In order to build a Skellige deck, one will need to win gwent against numerous characters in the expansion.

Otherwise, the gameplay flaws present in the base game are still present in the expansion, but they’re not too bad. Yes, the combat can get repetitive after some time. I’d encourage players to talk to characters, then do some quests where you fight enemies, then talk to some more characters again.

But, this game and its expansion really are the definition of high fantasy. For those who may take a long break before completing the game, there are data entry pages available in the game to read up on characters and enemies. These kinds of small details aren’t present in games nowadays.

In fact, I enjoy preparing for fights because the beastiary in the game clearly details enemy weaknesses. Some people even go as far as to say that Geralt is a high fantasy version of Batman, due to how much he prepares for fighting. On the other hand, people also claim that the combat in this game is similar to Batman, which is meant to be an offense because recent Batman games are known for having combat mechanics where one mashes a button or two. It’s true that the combat in this game can be reduced to button mashing, but affecting battles through using potions and oil is an option that makes battles fun and quicker. Customization options are certainly present within the game.

The amount of things to do in this expansion is limitless. The expansion’s main storyline may take 5 - 10 hours, with perhaps another 5 – 10 hours for all of its sidequests. The dialogue is really well-written and conversations will actually change significantly depending on your dialogue choices. The dialogue buttons do an amazing job at summarizing what Geralt is going to say when you select it without reducing detail. This is contrasted against Fallout 4, where the dialogue options are summarized too much and you’re not completely sure what your character is going to say. I’m not spoiling anything about the storyline, but it’s certainly on-par in terms of quantity with the main game and the expansion. If you purchased the game and its first expansion, there’s no excuse for not purchasing the second expansion.

It’s not something I say often, but I feel like I’m scamming them when I play this game, due to how much I’m getting compared to how much I’m paying.

CD Projekt, the developer of this game, is definitely one of the leaders in today’s gaming generation. It’s strange, I played the original Witcher back in the fall of 2007 and I remember that the game tried to do a lot, but had severe budget limitations. I’m really happy that, due to their hard work and success, CD Projekt has become a leader in the gaming industry, now making multimillion dollar video games in the industry.

I wholeheartedly look forward to CD Projekt’s next game.

I don't want to spoil much, but you need to buy this as soon as possible. A few cons only being the bugs, and the jokes, some were a hit, some were a miss, but don't worry it doesn't remove the immersiveness of the expansion and it is something that can be overlooked very easily. 10/10. If this was a game in itself, I mean it should have game of the year right now if it can, hell even, it's definitely a contender for some kinda award. BUY IT NOW.

Blood and Wine features an expansive new region called Touissaint, a vibrant french inspired piece of land full of political intrigue, humor, and defined culture. You will also be pitched against new monsters, in a fully fetched campaign helping out the local Duchess.

The story and side missions are characteristically as good as the original Witcher 3 game, and perhaps better in some areas. The characters you encounter are well written and engagement, and much of the activities to be had are quite fun. This expansion also features a full length soundtrack, which further immerses you into the escapist heaven of the Witcher series.

All-in-all, this expansion deserves an honest 10/10. In all my years of PC gaming, this expansion has reached a milestone, and set a bar so high that I doubt any other developer can reach in a long time.

They provide a change to the base gameplay experience. There are a few bandit bases with swarms of higher level enemies where these boosts are vital on higher difficulties. The region itself is beautiful, and despite swarming with dangerous creatures is some how more laid back than the base game. You get a house. Your decorating this house is limited to choosing a few paintings and deciding what swords/armor go where. Still more satisfying than Skyrm's home building DLC. More fitting to this universe as well. Some of the quests in this expansion blew me away. After the main questline diverges the first quest on either side is amazing (going into the fantasy book or meeting the elder vampire). You know guys, 2016 is the **** year for me. Only 2 games are interesting for me: new South Park game and this DLC. If I can choose this DLC as GOTY, I definitly will. So, if you ask me about B&W, I will say you that:
-Graphics is incredible. I enjoyed it even more than original game. The sunny summer location puts a happiness in my soul
-The story is better than in original game. It is not too long like the original, it's just right. There is more action and less world exploring. Feels like The Witcher 2 story. Even Regis feels like bro Roche.
-New location is amazing. I know that Witcher series is about swamps and grim dark, but the summer location is the best thing, that hapened to the Witcher. It's not too big and empty like Velen or Skellige, it's interesting to explore.
-Difficulty is still to easy for me. I played the original game and first DLC on max difficulty and beat it almost without deaths. It's a little bit more hard than original game because of new enemies, but still too easy.
So, Blood and Wine is one of the best DLC's in the history of videogames, it's worth it's money. I am really upset that B&W is last DLC, I would buy one more. Thank you, CDPR! Love you!

Each witcher set is getting new tier and there's one completely new set.

The only gripe I have is with one specific talent which I'm not sure was present in vanilla TW3. It makes your dodges mitigate 100% damage (even if you're hit). It made my play through on highest difficulty a stroll. The final boss is memorable, although phase 3 is too easy.

The main quest is not as good as in The Hearts of Stone but is still really good. I've finished it in 20 hours but I haven't touched the side quests nor have I visited the whole of Toussaint yet. This expansion is really large and in my opinion worth much more than what the developer is asking for.

I got my first ever computer game back in 1984. It was Sabre Wulf on the ZX Spectrum. I've played the greats. Elite Frontiers, Dizzy, Hunter X Hunter, Altered Beast, Sonic, Mario, Double Dragon, the Half-Life series, Baulders Gate, Skyrim, Gears of War, Halo, Counter Strike, GTA and more than I could ever put into a list.

Witcher 3 with all expansions is pure masterpiece. My over 200h of hunting mosters, discovering places, meeting people, going deeper and deeper into story was simply joy.
Thank you Geralt and CDP Red for this awesome journey.
I will miss you so much White Wolf.

Blood and Wine is an amazing conclusion to the epic magnum opus that was The Witcher 3. As always, CDPR nailed every single features of the game with an almost supernatural perfection. Some studios cut of their core game and sells them as DLC. CDPR created a complete game with blood and wine and called it a DLC.

It was a perfect swan song to Geralt of Rivia.

Fantastic expansion. The DLC content by itself deserves almost a GOTY in a couple of categories. We probably won't see a DLC this much big in a long time.

    Neutral
    - Vivid art and lighting style that matches the theme - personally I like it however people that prefer a darker more grimy lighting style (like dark souls or even the main game for example) may not like it

    Cons
    - I do think this game suffers from some sort of aliasing problem due to the engine's incapability to have proper anti-aliasing
    - Not very many Witcher contracts

The amount of content and the quality of that content is overwhelming. Compared to other so-called "DLC" that are being produced by most companies in the market, this should be considered as a full game. And a very beautiful and entertaining game to say the least.

I feel sad, there will be no more DLC, no adventures for Geralt or Witcher3...
This Dlc is amazing... stories... the main and the side quests are well written.
30hours more ... for less than a full priced game...
    Thx you CD Projekt...

I'm gonna start by saying this is the best value dlc, in fact, its, a insult to call it a dlc even calling it an expansion would be be a disservice.
This sort of content would be a sequel from most other developers
Anyway lets get on with the review if you already played the witcher 3 and enjoyed it the is a must buy no question about it. I don't write reviews, as you can see I'm ****

The jaw-dropping graphic, intriguing storytelling, well designed choices, open-world adventure depth and richness, all sums up to the pinnacle of a single player game.
On top of that, it is an DLC with 40 hour+ playtime and costs only $20, while all other game publisher charge you $60 for some "full game" that has much less content.
The Witcher 3 main game won most of GOTY last year,

Best RPG/Adventure game released so far. Its fun to play, fun to craft and look for treasures, the story is excellent, the dialogs are really nice, even if you are advanced on the games, a few enemies may kill you.
My only complain is that low level enemies doesn't get better when you advance on experience, IMHO you should never face a enemy which is below your level, so that way it would

Also I would advice to try the mods, I made more sense of the game when I got a mod to update the game a bit, so the merchants would pay a bit more for my good and have more money (35/100) and the monsters would always throw loot, I found the game more fun in that way and be able to get most of the recipes I found from the merchants.

This game is super long if you want to explore everything, but unique quests and atmosphere let you enjoy it.
I suggest to play on the highest difficulty for challenging gameplay if you are DS veteran like me(you will die). :)

Buy it! Do not ever illegal download this game!
The developers deserve every Penny! So that WE can enjoy more of those games in the future, maybe.

Pretty bad dlc, i would rather recommend playing something that is actually good like Spider-Man 2018, Half Life 2 or Red Dead Redemption 2.

The Witcher 3: Blood & Wine is an exceptional expansion that reignites a sense of wonder even for players who have put in hundreds of hours so far. The breadth and variety of all that’s included stands stronger than many full-priced sequels. As a twenty-dollar add-on, it’s absolutely worthwhile.
