    There's a remastered version available now, together with all the other games in the series, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series, which is superior to the original game in terms of visuals and overall presentation.     This marks the third game/season within the Telltale The Walking Dead games series. My feelings about this game are a mix of positivity and reservation, and unlike most of my reviews, I'll begin with its positive aspects.

    What this game excels at is adhering to the familiar Telltale formula: delivering an exceptional cinematic experience, compelling storytelling, engaging dialogue choices, and more. The graphics have also seen improvements, although the new artwork is subject to debate and personal preference. While I appreciate it, I find myself not as enamored with it as I am with the older style. The narrative's unfolding, although not as impactful as its predecessors, is still commendable, and the storytelling approach remains robust. In essence, it offers a satisfying Telltale The Walking Dead experience, with its fair share of highs and lows.

    However, where it falters is in its integration of notably less exploration and character control gameplay compared to previous titles. The episodes are shorter, and Clementine's screen time is somewhat restricted. The primary allure of these series lies in Clementine, and relegating her to a lesser role is a considerable misstep. Designating her as a supporting character is acceptable, but not positioning her as the second or even arguably the third central character is an unfortunate choice. Throughout this season, I grappled with establishing strong connections with a plethora of characters, except for Clem and Javi. To clarify, I don't deem the character ensemble in this game as subpar, but their development falls short in comparison to their predecessors. This is most evident in my eager anticipation of the next Clementine memory scenes, which illustrate events between seasons, rather than the unfolding story itself.

    All things considered, this third installment in the series (excluding Michonne) emerges as the weakest link. However, it retains its standing as a commendable The Walking Dead Telltale Game, albeit with some rough edges. The potential for improved decisions is evident, which could have significantly enhanced the overall quality of the experience.    … Expand

    I dont get the hate, this season was pretty solid, maybe a bit too goofy at some points but still had good characters some good story pacing, and some shocking moments that justify themselves. Whenever clementine appeared i had fun. Its a fun game however it could ve been a spin off that i agree. 8 as a game 7 for the main series of the walking dead cuz it doesnt really justify itselfI dont get the hate, this season was pretty solid, maybe a bit too goofy at some points but still had good characters some good story pacing, and some shocking moments that justify themselves.     Der Comic-Stil ist noch viel kräftiger geworden, das Spiel ist 100% flüssig, lebendiger, kräftiger und einfach zeitgemäß, eine wirklich beeindruckende Leistung!
    Ich bin wirklich traurig, dass Telltale schließen müsste, ich kann das einfach nicht verstehen, wäre ich Millionär, hätte ich denen 2-3 Mio. gegeben, gibt es denn keine Storytelling spielenden Millionäre? Wie dem auch sei, das    Der Comic-Stil ist noch viel kräftiger geworden, das Spiel ist 100% flüssig, lebendiger, kräftiger und einfach zeitgemäß, eine wirklich beeindruckende Leistung!
    Ich bin wirklich traurig, dass Telltale schließen müsste, ich kann das einfach nicht verstehen, wäre ich Millionär, hätte ich denen 2-3 Mio. gegeben, gibt es denn keine Storytelling spielenden Millionäre? Wie dem auch sei, das Spiel ist sehr viel härter geworden, nichts für schwache Nerven, es geht nach ca 20 eingewöhnungs Minuten schon richtig ab und es erscheinen wirklich finstere Szenen.

    Undoubtebly the worst season of the series. This is definetly TellTale at their worst. A horrible cash/attention grab. The characters are either bland or annoying, the story in unengaging, predictable and boring. An absolute disgrace to the first, and, even the second season.

    liked the game. It's a pity that Clementine was a minor character. This part is slightly worse than 2, but still worth it.

    I remember the first time I played Season 1, I really like it and it became one of my favorite games. I like how telltale lets you make choices and choose dialogues. That makes the game personal. While I really like Clem, unfortunately it wasn't fun playing as her in season 2 cuz she was just a kid and there's not much she could do.

I really liked his character and the choices I made and how story turned out at the end was very satisfying for me. I don't have have any complaints about the game other than how I couldn't save some characters that I liked. Their death seemed unnecessary. Finally the music was great as always. No decorrer da história, percebemos que, de acordo com as suas escolhas, o Javier pode ser uma boa pessoa. Mas também, pode ser uma péssima pessoa. Gostei bastante da história em geral, o verdadeiro TWD.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game consists of 5 episodes, we can import the decisions we did in the previous title. I am not sure how effective that is compared to generic Clementine. We play as Javi and we get to know our older brother David who is harsh on Javi all the time. The story shows the world at the very start of zombie apocalypse, everyone accommodating to the new ways of life. That means even if you are not into Clementine from the first two games, you still get to play it from the start.

    The game has a beautiful story with some surprising moments and twists. Even the ending made me cry. It was complicated story with some hard decisions and many times I found myself saying one thing to those who will remember but did have to decide otherwise not completely turning against them but making things right.

    Things actually can work out but half of the people here died and there is also a little backstory for Clementine who still has one of the best dialogues. But I also really liked the drama with the brother, taking care of the family and dealing with situations were there is not a single good answer. Silence is often a viable answer.

    Thus said, it is heavy on dialogues and feels like watching a movie, still the game keeps us interacting with it whether it is choosing the answer and how the story goes or fighting the zombies which is in my opinion just not so fun. When exploring the areas with WASD, our moves are pretty clunky in a somewhat panoramic view. It was an issue in previous title as well, but it just shows this game is more an action adventure with a strong story. Comparing this to the first game in the series, it sits nicely next to it for me when it comes to the quality of the story.

    The characters here are really interesting, there are not many of them, but they made sure they are not shallow and predictable. Some of them were mysterious, some of them had their own plans, we just happen to be caught in the middle.

    I am not really hype on these graphics but the developers did really good job in showing emotions and made good animations, sometimes the game can actually look beautiful. And the music just feels right with everything going on.    … Expand

    We (eventually) start to witness the repetitivity of the Telltale series with such an underwhelming episode. I found the main character (Javi) surprisingly bland and shallow. The rest of the story features even more boring and one-dimensional protagonists. Fortunately, Clementine is not yet affected by this state of affairs. Each character represent a certain point of view of the wholeWe (eventually) start to witness the repetitivity of the Telltale series with such an underwhelming episode. I found the main character (Javi) surprisingly bland and shallow. The rest of the story features even more boring and one-dimensional protagonists. Fortunately, Clementine is not yet affected by this state of affairs. Each character represent a certain point of view of the whole situation and you simply can give them more or less power via some of your decisions. Too few of them evolve significantly between the beginning and the end.

    The overall pace of the story is quite jerky as both scare jumps and turns of events become more and more predictable (and so uneffective). I had minor (to sometimes major) issues with display and graphics but let's put that on the account of my old computer. But what I just can't forgive is the pathetic level of facial expressions. Many characters have one or two different facial expressions and that's it. Even Javi's acting sometimes makes him look like a robot, or worse... a zombie! More than ever it feels like you have the opportunity the give your opinion and make decisions at the worst times during the discussions and events. For the first time, playing a Telltale game until its end was quite painful because it feels soooo long and frustrating (especially as you get closer to the end).     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is not tragic, but I couldn't give it as "featured". After two brilliant TWD seasons (and a pretty good spin off) suddenly something went wrong. Previous views were able to go through episode after episode and it was difficult for me to break away from the plot. Here I was struggling terribly, mainly because of the plot which made me barely go through an episode a day. The story seems to be written on your knee, and I personally feel that the game takes a heavy toll for someone deciding to remove Clementine from the lead role. Her role is rather negligible and while Javier's character has some arms and legs ... it is still poorly written compared to previous games in the series.
    As for the plot itself - painfully predictable, probably the biggest plot twist that offers us is a joke, senseless or incomprehensible decisions. (Like, for example, the decision to kill the doctor - I was convinced that refusing his offer would allow me to get the information from Clem.) For the first time, Telltale kicked the presentation of the events so much that I had lost my interest in the characters for the last half - so much was planned in advance (and senseless) deaths. The character's reactions to our decisions are also terribly lopsided. (Final episode where Gabe tells us a few times that she wants to be like us and is afraid of her father ... and then she leaves us and drives away with him and dies in an idiotic WTF way)
    Another thing is that, for me, the game also suffered from the aforementioned Clem sidestepping. After the second season, the player would simply have to be crazy not to support her, which means that the player feels a subconscious pressure in dealing with her. Especially since it was deemed appropriate to fuel our frustration with her reminiscences about the events of the 1st and 2nd season.
    Who is this game for? Primarily for those who want to somehow get to the end of the Clem story. Although it is so bad here... To be honest, after finishing it I had the impression that it is a clumsy form of the prologue to the finale, but without the main axis of the series - Clem.    … Expand

    I love season 1,2 and final season. But, season 3 just felt unnecessary. The game should've just followed Clementine as the main main character instead of Javier. I mean all the decisions were easily for me to be bias in support of Clementine so it didn't feel difficult since we know Clementine's heart. It just felt unnecessary to see Javier's story.

    The story definitely slowed down and got a bit more boring. But that doesn't mean it was a bad part of the franchise. It was just not as good as Season 1 & 2.

    Una secuela/ spin off que presenta ideas interesantes, pero nunca llegan a desarrollarse. Personajes en su mayoria desechables, los flashback de Clementine de calidad cuestionable y aunque tiene muy buenos momentos estos no estan constituidos por una escritura tan solida como los dos episodios anteriores.
    De hecho la mejor relacion del juego, David y Javier (hermanos); despues de ser la    Una secuela/ spin off que presenta ideas interesantes, pero nunca llegan a desarrollarse. Personajes en su mayoria desechables, los flashback de Clementine de calidad cuestionable y aunque tiene muy buenos momentos estos no estan constituidos por una escritura tan solida como los dos episodios anteriores.

    the reason im giving this game a 10 is just for Clementine, wich was the only reason i played this game, i accept that Javier appeared out of nowhere and he didin t deserve the place of a protagonist wich was suposed to be Clementine s , a lot of **** characters like Gabe, Joan, David, Friedlander etc, but at least we had Clementine

    The story smoothly transferred to other characters, while the plot also featured Clementine. An interesting move, a good story. Perhaps the drama is inferior to the previous parts, but I did not like this game more than the first two. Of course, it is higher than Michonne’s story, but worse than the first two seasons of the main series.
