After the great success that the first "season" of The Walking Dead was, I was totally hyped and ready for round 2 with this game. Sadly, Season 2 fails on just about every level to surpass or even meet the original's quality. Telltale's Walking Dead now suffers from the same issues that the TV show is burdened by: overall terrible writing with characters who have very generic motivations who get killed off when the writers run out of ideas for their storylines. Unlike the original, the characters have no clear direction or plans for survival beyond finding food and shelter for the day; while this is reasonably realistic, its also incredibly boring. A domino effect of hurt feelings goes through this story, with characters behaving erratically (often contradicting their previous motivations and ignoring friendships) because other characters were behaving erratically. Everytime something bad happens, Clementine has to save the day while the adults bicker and threaten to kill each other. Most character's actions in these episodes are illogical and your choices and actions have even less consequences than in the original game.

Even with Telltale behind the wheel, TWD: Season 2 has already fallen into the shallow strides set by the TV show. While I still recommend the original, Season 2 is a decidedly phoned in 8 hours of "gameplay" that isn't worth wasting your time on.

The first game had its problems, but everybody didn't care much because of the amazing story.
After waiting almost a year of "episode making" you expect at least a better gameplay/storytelling, but not even that... Speaking of episodes, that's what this game is: a semi-interactive series with a bad story. You don't even feel that you affect the world around you, differently from the first

For some reason, they removed the keyboard shortcuts of the dialog. But don't worry about that, you will stop carrying for the story at some point.
Well, the graphics are really better, but that's the only thing they improved from the last game. THE PART THAT NO ONE CARED!
With bad dialog choices, invisible walls and horrible gameplay, the game turns to be as linear as Medal of Honor Warfighter. Doesn't matter what you do in the game, it will happen what the developers want to happen, and the only excuse they have for that is that the game is """tailored""" by the player. Everyone who played it know the level of **** on that.

With polished graphics, worse gameplay, story, storytelling, dialog choices and the lack of impact that you do on the world, The Walking Dead: Season Two is a complete disaster. Luckily for the developers, the game is sold in episodes, which grant they some more money and make the players think that they are actually listening to reviews and complains, and are going to improve the game based on them.

You want a game with real choices and a good story? Play Spec Ops: The Line. It has better graphics and loading time is practically the same of TWD: S2.

A dull and ultimately forgettable story that is not worth any time unless you are already invested in the ongoing story.

The Walking Dead season 2 by Telltale is a bitter disappointment. I loved season 1, season 1 is the best game I have ever played in my life but season 2 fails to surpass it. The story is boring and the writing is terrible. You can tell by the terrible writing that Telltale is using different writers in season 2.

This game is no match to season one(heard that Telltale changed writers and CEO when making season 2). The main storyline of the game lacks a clear goal, which makes me lack the motivation to complete it; the newly introduced characters are very flat and boring, which makes me not care about their fate at all; the portrayal of female characters is much worse than in the first season, withThis game is no match to season one(heard that Telltale changed writers and CEO when making season 2). The main storyline of the game lacks a clear goal, which makes me lack the motivation to complete it; the newly introduced characters are very flat and boring, which makes me not care about their fate at all; the portrayal of female characters is much worse than in the first season, with their behavior and motivation revolving around men and lacking agency. Telltale’s decision to change the writers and CEO was very unwise , as their talent and management skills are not comparable to the previous team. Expand

The game plays on emotions with ease and I think only a heart of stone could prevent you from feeling moved by some scenes. [Nov 2014, p.62]

The further we get from that finale the deeper it sinks in. You need to experience it. [Dec 2014, p.78]
