CD-ActionOct 24, 2012It's been years since we were treated to such a thrilling detective story in a game. It's the best point'n'click title by Frogwares. [12/2012, p.58]

Oct 8, 2012Arguably the great detective's finest hour, The Testament of Sherlock Holmes makes for a thoroughly enjoyable adventure through the murkier side of Sherlock's psyche.
-
Oct 4, 2012The Testament of Sherlock Holmes is a really atmospheric addition to the series. The story is original and very interesting, puzzles are top-notch and demand lots of thinking and the gameplay is satisfyingly long. What is more - there are some really pleasant surprises along the way. I think it's the best installment in the series and it will be hard to top this one, but I have hope. That's the way to go.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Nov 4, 2012Detective story with the most popular hero is capable of drawing the attention of gamers who would normally pass on any kind of adventure game. [Nov 2012]

Oct 16, 2012An interesting, slow-burning adventure game well worth your time.
-
Sep 28, 2012A grim storyline, challenging puzzles, and atmospheric visuals make The Testament of Sherlock Holmes one of the legendary sleuth's greatest adventures.
-
Sep 26, 2012Testament can't quite make up its mind what type of game it wants to be with the change of camera location and controls, and it has its issues with repetitive sound effects, but the storytelling is top-notch. If you're a fan of mystery games, point-and-click adventures, complicated puzzlers, or you're just a sucker for a good story, then The Testament of Sherlock Holmes is a no-brainer.
-
Nov 22, 2012Despite complaints, it's a compelling story with some standout moments and surprising twists. Even more surprising is that the narrative does make sense in the end; a Sherlock Holmes story needs to be tight and logical, which this game manages to pull off overall.
-
Oct 1, 2012While not perfect, The Testament of Sherlock Holmes offers a great and charming adventure. The spirit of the famous detective created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle remains intact, as the game proposes many improvements in terms of gameplay. With great puzzles to solve and interesting ideas regarding the way players can control the different characters, the Testament of Sherlock Holmes won't disappoint.
-
Sep 28, 2012The conspiracy story is interesting, the detective work is very entertaining. Unfortunately the designers decided to lengthen the experience with frustrating moments and a changing difficulty level.
-
Oct 17, 2012A good graphic adventure game recommended for fans of the character. Some technical issues and a problematic control system lower the overall impression, but still it's a great addition to the genre.
-
Oct 15, 2012Fans of the Frogwares titles will be satiated, even with the lack of Creepy Watson shadowing your every move. Inconsistencies and plot, er, 'quirks' aside, this is a pretty solid adventure with some neat ideas and a dog jumping onto a series of wooden pillars.
-
Oct 15, 2012Another Sherlock Holmes detective story unfolds like its prequels. However, this installment excels in its pattern of puzzles, in its narrative pace, in its screenplay. What a shame the game is technologically way behind along with its dialogues linearity stumbling.
-
Oct 2, 2012Sherlock fans will enjoy the story and mystery, and puzzle fans will get their fix. If you're a fan of point and click adventure games and graphics are not a big concern to you, you may want to give this game a shot, but keep in mind; it will not control or look too pretty.

PC Master (Greece)Feb 6, 2013The authentic Sherlock Holmes, never uttered the phrase ‘Elementary, dear Watson’. Instead he said ‘when you have eliminated all which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth’. Thusly, when after six games, Frogware refuses stubbornly to acknowledge the fact that Sherlock Holmes’s character and nature fits perfectly in a traditional adventure game, the truth is that, as a studio, it cannot, or does not know how to, create correct puzzles. [January 2013]
-
Oct 1, 2012I find myself wishing that The Testament of Sherlock Holmes were more like a Professor Layton game than a free-roaming adventure, since the puzzles are where the game truly succeeds.
-
Nov 9, 2012Lush visuals are the only saving grace of this Sherlock Holmes. It pains me to see so much style and no substance.
-
Dec 7, 2012All I can say is if you're a maniac for Sherlock Holmes stories or adventure games, then there's going to be something here for you. I'm not sure what I'd call it, but it's definitely something.
