The Surge was one of my favorite games of 2017, and the "a walk in the park" expansion just adds more awesomeness. Specific to the expansion, I loved the themepark aesthetic, being outdoors was a pleasant change, and the new enemies and a whole new huge level to explore was great. There is more new lore which adds a bit of depth to the story, cool looking new weapons and armor suits, and new buffs to collect.

My only complaint was that most of the new stuff was no better than the old stuff. I didn't find any weapons or armor that were worth replacing my black cerberus armor and mg caldera flaming single rigged weapon of doom. The extra life, energy and stamina buffs were much appreciated though.

Overall this expansion is just basically an extra level for the main game, but it's a GREAT level.

Five Word Review: Great, wish it were longer.
Favorite Thing: The levels are much less corridor-y.
Least Favorite Thing: It's really hard coming back to a game like this, in NG+, after 6 months of inactivity. There was a lot of dying.

I really liked this DLC. Although I don't really like amusement parks, this surroundings here were well played even for my taste. The new enemies funny. New bosses made me happy, and even very much. The plot ...well, it is not strong, but it fully corresponds to its surroundings ...plus... it touches on the main plot a little, which also adds a little rating to this "Park DLC".

A Walk in the Park will be a perfect add-on for those who enjoyed the original game. It brings new enemies and new challenges that totally justify the price you pay for the DLC.

Whereas The Surge managed to get the basics of Dark Souls right but failed to make either the enemies or world interesting, A Walk In The Park corrects this problem (for the most part). The idea of a sci-fi Souls game was cool but setting it in a Disneyland-style theme park is clever and done pretty well. It’s very much Itchy & Scratchy Land from The Simpsons, with killer mascots and murderous jolly robot parades. Things get ridiculously tough towards the end and the game starts to forget about the fun enemies, but with this expansion Deck13 have finally made a Dark Souls alternative people might want to play. If you own The Surge, you need to take A Walk In The Park.

The Surge: A Walk in the Park is a more than worthy expansion to the game, offering new challenges as well as new tools to deal with them. Storytelling may not be stellar, and no new gameplay mechanics have been included, but don't let these issues stop you from taking this lethal walk through CREO World: it's well worth it.
