All in all, I felt that The Spell Brigade is a game well-worth playing and definitely priced correctly. It certainly lacks more content and variety, but hopefully that gets added later on. Even now, the stuff that’s there will give you plenty of hours of fun, and you will find the title to be quite immersive for what it is. Yes, it does take a bit of getting used to in the beginning and it will be a while until you unlock new wizards, but that time can be used to better learn every character and their abilities. As a complete package, I think The Spell Brigade mostly delivers on what it wanted to provide. It’s fun to play, immersive, very intense, and you can also play it with friends. It’s grindy though, and even bosses won’t give you a ton of resources. But if you’re into it just for the gameplay, it’s one of the better survivor-like games out there, and it’s very polished, it doesn’t crash, nor does it have any major bugs.

The Spell Brigade does just enough to elevate the genre, and becomes a fun, challenging roguelike with the bonus element of co-op. The progression system hasn't survived Early Access unscathed, but it remains enjoyable nonetheless.

The Spell Brigade is just a good bullet heaven that can be enjoyed by yourself, but especially with friends. With incredible spells, tons of enemies, plenty to unlock, and potentially lots of friendly fire, I recommend giving this game a shot.

The Spell Brigade is excellence in the survivors-like genre, offering players a chance to partake in some whacky, chaotic co-op wizardry. While designed for online play, solo players can still appreciate the title, though they may find progression to be a slower grind overall.

The Spell Brigade doesn't do anything wrong, but it also doesn't do anything to make itself stand out in a sea of survivors-like games. Its gameplay isn't all that exciting, its art and sound design is ho-hum, and any meaningful upgrades take far too long to unlock. There are plenty of other games in the genre that are far more rewarding to play.
