Everything feels like a step forward, even though there are some aspects (like random tutorials or some situations in which we felt completely out of control) that we would like to see more polished. Still, a great choice for The Sims fans.

The way they interact with each other, the way they can eat, watch TV and chat about underpants or spaceships at the same time is a marvellous technical achievement that puts the rest of the game, with its missing pools and open worlds, into context. I wish we could have it all in the same package – perhaps The Sims 5 will – but for now, I’m happily and frankly unexpectedly willing to trade those bells and whistles for characters that feel, well, real.

Series veterans are also going to realise that despite the various improvements, The Sims 4 is not in any way as robust as The Sims 3. The core game is magnificent and well designed for the most part, but there are a ton of missing extras, which will presumably be filled out with various DLC packs.

Although The Sims 4 brings a few new features, namely the emotion system, it can only make the early fans unhappy and disappointed. Electronic Arts erased many elements and features that were essential and representative of the saga. And we already know that EA will sell them in a few months, included inside expansive expansion packs.

The Sims 4 manages to be both the worst and the best installment in the series so far. It’s lacking content and has a fair amount of glitches and bugs. But the new feeling mechanics works really well, and opens up a new dimension that The Sims never have been close to before. In the end, the positive parts are the ones that are most noticeable.

Even in virtual worlds, variety is the spice of life. The Sims 4, for all its polish and cleverness, simply isn't very spicy.

The Sims 4 is still a charming life simulation, with a better interface and some new possibilities, but so many elements are missing compared from The Sims 3 (hello DLCs!) that all the fans will be disappointed.

After the great success of reboot in Sim City, fans of simulation games are wondering what the next simulation title will be launched by EA. I can't imagine how bad the gaming industry will become if EA doesn't exist in this world. For starters, EA is currently one of the best simulation developers in the world, and in general it is the leader in trends of development of various games around the world.

Sim City has already drawn so much attention and become a legend of simulation games in modern era. Today, another legend has born, which is this wonderful game.

Sims 4 has significant improvement over its predecessor. It has an improved UI, which is more user friendly. Its graphic is superb and oustanding. On a technical side, the optimization is perfect, the game is running extremely smoothly. The game play elements also bring the simulation of life to a new level. It has a lot of elements added, and offers a great variety of game play choices for players. Also, it is very realistic, which is an outstanding life simulator.

All in all, the game has a lot of innovative and creative improvement, which is a must-have for all fans of simulation.

I am already looking forwards for more DLCs to come. Please do not release expansions again like the old-days, as this takes too much time for development. Fans want new contents as soon as possible. Developers, please try to release more and more DLCs on a weekly, or if possible, on a daily basis. Fans are eager to pay for more FUN! ;)

Every one, please join me to celebrate the great launch day of such fantastic title!

I want to start off by asking the question, how is this game getting such a bad rep?
I'm an old school sims player, I've been playing since TSO. The sims 2 happened to be my favorite for the PC and I wasn't really into the whole neighborhood view at all when the sims 3 came out.
This version of the sims is an awesome updated version of the sims. You can travel between different towns with a loading screen of 5 seconds (Depending on your computer processor). Also you live on a lot, and on that lot you can travel between several different houses without loading screens, and so many people walk by your house and around the lot that you never miss traffic.
What I do happen do dislike is there is NO dishwashers, nor pools. I'm sure it will come out on an expansion, but as for now that kind of upset me.
I created an account just to let you know that you aren't wasting your money if you can enjoy a new era of The Sims. people don't understand where the Sims came from to be rating them such low points. The Sims 3 wasn't a step up in some peoples eyes (like mine), however The Sims 4 is really a great change in The Sims series. I Love the emotions, the worlds, the people and how they act, the multitasking, building, and so many more great feature this game has to offer. 9/10 because of no dishwashers or pools.

The Create a Sim andOn the surface, this is a good game, but when comparing it to its predecessors it is a hollow shell of what it could be. The Create a Sim and Build modes are considerable upgrades from the Sims 3, but the gameplay itself feels closed off without an open world and lacks the personality the previous games had. The Sims 4 is also much more dependent on DLC, and to this day, 5+ years after its release feels unfinished. No amount of DLC will fix a flawed cash grab of a game. Expand

EA/Maxis likes loading screens alot! Want to make your sim go to another house in the same small community lot? Loading screen. Would you like to go to a museum for a date? Loading screen. Would you like to visit the gym beside that museum? Loading screen. It eventually got to a point where my sims now spend ALL of their time on their one starting lot. I tried playing the game for about 30+ hours to give it a fair rating but after taking a break from it I just cannot go back to it with any sort of anticipation. The emotion system and animations are improved but they give you a Very basic game with an incredibly small world for your sims to live. I really really wanted to love this game but I feel as though EA/Maxis just slapped me in the face for supporting their product (I pre-ordered months in advance of release). I know that alot of people are saying...ya but its a base game, it will get better with expansions! Why? Why do I need to pay additional money for expansions on an INCOMPLETE base game? I highly doubt that they can fix the core game mechanics with expansions. There is a reason why the User Reviews scores are so low versus the Critic Reviews. I would not recommend buying this game unless its on sale for under $20. However even for $20 you could purchase much better non AAA games (including ALPHAS) on steam with more features and fun. This review deals with my building experience, rather than with the gameplay - hopefully this will help other builders who are thinking ofThis review deals with my building experience, rather than with the gameplay - hopefully this will help other builders who are thinking of buying the game.

As an avid Sims fan with my own dedicated website, I was very eager to receive a copy of the Sims 4. I'm mainly a builder and was looking forward to being able to create stunning homes using what I hoped would be, some brand, new tools to work with. How disappointed I was!

Firstly, the foundations - If you want a foundation on your house, it applies to the entire lot, whether the parts are joined to the house or not. I sometimes like to build a fake garage or a little garden shed, but now I can't as they all end up with the same foundation as the house! Also, you can't make the foundation match the walls any more, you just have to pick from the feeble choices of foundation patterns they provide. It's also very difficult to join fences to the foundations - you have to build walls where you want the fences to be and then apply a fence to the walls.

Secondly, you can't delete floor tiles, just entire floors. I like to make my landing areas inside the house interesting and for that I need to be able to take away parts of the floor. Not any more I can't! They say there are ways around this, but they all make weird things happen when you try them. Sometimes the roof comes down into the house etc. There is a sledgehammer tool, so you can build a mini room where you want to delete the floor, then you use the sledgehammer to smash the floor and delete the tiles, but as soon as you delete the walls, the floor comes back! I have searched for hours for a solution/workaround for this, but just come across many people having the same issue with no way around it. However, you can make the foundations different heights, which is a definite improvement.

Thirdly, there is NO pattern tool! You receive a paltry amount of content that you can't do anything with, so everyone's houses all end up looking the same. One of the things I loved about the Sims 3 was how highly configurable everything was, even the Sims themselves. This, IMHO, is a definite step back for the game.

There are 2 carpets, both the same colour, with little pattern difference. Unless you want to download tons and tons of custom content, your Sims houses are going to be very boring affairs. I can't even select different bedding for your beds, you just have to be happy with the bed sets they provide.

I'm not sure if this is something I haven't figured out yet, but if I want 3 or more sets of stairs next to each other and I want to have railings at the side, I can't - the railings appear between each set and I can't just add them to each end.

Annoyingly, the moveobjects on cheat doesn't work in this game. That means I can't move objects where I want any more. :(

There are one or two improvements that I like - one is that you can move your entire house if you need to, and now your roofs can all have different patterns.

There were several more things that I wasn't happy with, but these are the main bugbears. For game sequels, you need to add features, not take them away! I'm just happy they listened to people and brought back the pools after doing away with these, too, initially!
