Too much DLC. It's funny that the game is free on Steam. Because you have to buy 70 DLCs to get the actual game. I can't stand EA.

I guess i just don't really understand the appeal of a game like this. I think it's super repetitive to take over the life of a sim and live a standard human life while you build up a networth to buy more...furniture? I dunno, I hate it

・If you want to install the mod, you should buy it, if you don't, you shouldn't buy it
・You shouldn't buy some DLC, and even if you do, you should buy it when it's on sale
・Bugs happen quickly, so you should be patient, and on rare occasions, all data may disappear, so you shouldn't put too much thought into this game.

A fun, virtual life simulation game. It improves upon previous Sims games. The pricing is up for debate, but for the purposes of this review, I did not take pricing into account.

This game is monopolist in category Life Simulator. The Sims 4 is fine in graphics but the best in gameplay. You can build any house what you want and every person what you can imagine. You have a 3 cities and a lot interesting place in it. Also you can have families in all that third cities. I love The Sims series, and this game is ultimate Sims!

The return to The Sims 2 concept of closed lots and neighbourhoods/worlds is not as bad as I expected because you can travel and move in through the worlds freely and easily. You can have a vacation or a day off on Sulani, while living in an apartment in San Myshuno just with one call /the "Travel" option/. It's not bad at all.

I am happy that they kept the tradition to have different graphics and animations, than the previous game. You know that every sequel is unique and this one is really fresh and colourful in every aspect.

I am not into the building but by the time I tried it, I can see a lot of new options which are huge pros to the game.

The biggest cons are the endless line of expansions, stuff, kits, etc. staff which might affect the game's quality, but in the end, you are not obliged to buy all of them.

The game is another great addition to the franchise and I am happy to have it next to The Sims 3.

I tried to paly the game many times, but it wasn't like the The Sims 2 or The Sims 3 for me. The game got boring fast. Character creation was nice in The Sims 4. House building had some merit in this game too.

Buying the Seasons expansion pack is a must. It makes the game soo much better. It is also quite expensive to buy extra things, so I recommend buying when there's a sale (it happens quite often) Overall playing The Sims 4 is like going to your own therapy. It feels soo good and it'll give you the best feeling ever.
You can build, create sims and make amazing stories. You'll definitely find something in the game that is for you!

I don't see the problem with this game that everyone else does. I think it's actually not bad. I've spent countless hours creating people, in my opinion creating characters is my favourite thing to do. The graphics are a lot more cartoon looking for my liking. I also wish the DLC's were cheaper, $50 aud (as of this review) for the same old thing is getting really annoying.

The "only" thing TS4 has going for it is "Create-A-Sim" and "Building." That's it. The actual gameplay is boring, shallow, and unrealistic. If it weren't for all the TS4 modders, House builders, and YouTubers, TS4 would be dead. No one would even play it.

As for updates, it's all garbage. They are trying to implement Story Progression, but it's not working. It's still lame. And guess what EA is releasing for TS4 this summer... more kits! Yay! NOT! Move on EA. Give us TS5 already and make it like TS4 should have been.

The Sims 4 deprives the player of the metropolitan shenanigans of the open-world town, undoing a full 14 years of game development undertaken by Sims 2 and 3.
Yet, Sims 1 deftly sidestepped its single-lot limitations with huge expansions such as Makin' Magic. Sims 4 represents an ever-increasing frustration in the gaming industry, locking even basic features behind DLC paywalls. EA continues to drop consumers in a pool with no ladders (except Sims 4 lacks pools, a standard in Sims games since the base game for Sims 1) with its shady monopolizing sales tactics. Gamers are better off buying Sims 3 Complete Edition than reinforcing EA's banditry.

Only good thing about this game is the sim creation tool, everything else is just garbage, why?
The gameplay consists of "eat, shower, job, repeat"
The sims are constantly stressed and constantly need something, JUST SHUT UP!
Sims 1 is better than this in every aspect, its only outdated

The Sims 4. Achjo. In my opinion, this should not have happened, and the developers, in my opinion, simply want more money. Right from the beginning, I was struck by the graphics, which in my opinion is worse than the one from the previous part, but that's my opinion. Not bad. She is actually pretty and has her own style. However, I preferred the more realistic of the three. Well, the game didn't bring us much new. This is actually a reskin of a threesome, but for the full price, and to make matters worse, of course, there is also a paid DLC, which classically forces you to buy, because sooner or later you will find out that you have nothing to do in the game. For the previous episodes, although they were DLC, at least each episode brought something new and went to see progress. For example, such a work by Simík improved with each work, until in the trio I said unbelievable what my possibilities are, and here in the four, although there is perhaps a little more possibility of creation, there is really nothing dramatically different. So for me, this game is vulgar cash-grab. But if you like the series and long for this virtual life, you'd better stay with the trio or older part. It's not a bad game, but in my opinion it's not worth the money. Yes, we have more emotions, which is nice, but that's probably the only bigger change. For me, an above-average game that I do not recommend. Expand

I have sold some of my organs to buy the Sims 4 with all DLC. In 2021 with all DLC this game is very good, I personally like it more than 3 mostly because it feels like it has the same if not more content and it runs way better (on modern systems the Sims 3 lags and takes up to 3 minutes to load) I would rate this very high but, right now the game, along with all DLC, are on sale. the video didn't even help, it just confused me even more.

likewise the sim's are basically robots. they don't do what they need to, surely if they need to go to the toilet or have some food they could do it themselves instead of me sending them a command. what's this i hear about "autonomy" and how the sims can run themselves, sometimes they will do things on their own, such as sleep... on the couch. despite there being a bed.

i really wanted to like the sims. it would seem like my kind of game, a game where you didn't need to do much aside from upgrade the house and send commands to do more complicated things such as deciding what they will eat so when i tried it i only played a few hours before giving up.

If you could play Sims 4 with all its DLC right now for a reasonable price of 60 euros or so, then this would be a great deal. Its a fun simulator, added elements after Sims 3 work well and its great fun for 20 hours or so. But the price... its too much.

After playing the sims franchise since 2007 and having been playing the sims 4 on and off since 2014 when it first released. The sims 4 even after all these years feels lacking to it predecessors. Completely unplayable for me now. If you want to play a life simulation game I'd say you're better off with the sims 2 or 3.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is good but is a downgrade from The Sims 3, which can be good or bad, less features in life simulation and is more simplified if that's what you want but looks new and refreshed and is not laggy. Its more like the sims 2 with updated graphics but there are some small details missing from that game, oh well (I guess you can't top a classic). Fun to play for a while but then gets bland after you exhaust everything you can do in your sims life. The sale price of $5 is good and is worth it, and it would be ok if the expansions and game packs were the same sale price but they aren't and seem overpriced with the small amount of content they add, (I've played the game with all of the additional dlc), don't even get me started on the stuff packs that add some new items and costs more than the base game LIKE WTH. You should be able to get expansion packs for like $5, $3 or $4 for game packs and $1-2 stuff packs NOT $15 or whatever it is, even some sort of bundle deal for all of the dlcs, but that would be a long shot and EA with the reputation they have i couldn't see them doing that with one of their current games, I wouldn't recommend buying the dlcs if your not rich. And after 7 whole years they have come out with 50+ dlc, I think enough is enough at this point and Maxis and EA should start creating a new sims game which they are rumored to be doing, that is much better by including more features you would find in a life simulation game like the direction the sims 3 was headed, that and not being atriousously laggy would be great. And the sims fans make a big deal whenever there is a small update to the game like when an object is added to the game, the "sims community" somehow makes a whole article about their opinion about bunk beds being added to the game. The Sims 4... where do I start? I started playing Sims games when The Sims 3 just launched and I loved that game to death. I do not want to compare The Sims 3 and 4, because they are two different experiences, however The Sims 4 IS a successor to The Sims 3 and it should be treated accordingly. Before I get into the negatives of The Sims 4, I want to talk about the positives. First of all,The Sims 4... where do I start? I started playing Sims games when The Sims 3 just launched and I loved that game to death. I do not want to compare The Sims 3 and 4, because they are two different experiences, however The Sims 4 IS a successor to The Sims 3 and it should be treated accordingly. Before I get into the negatives of The Sims 4, I want to talk about the positives. First of all, create-a-sim and build/buy mode are both amazing. If you are looking for a game in which you want to build houses and create detailed looking people, then The Sims 4 is your game. Secondly, the gallery aspect of the game is also a very nice touch. In the gallery you can download sims, houses and community lots from other people. This is a nice feature to have, because it really allows you to share your creations with the world. These are the two positives I can name if I talk about The Sims 4. Now I need to talk about the bad parts and there sure are enough to talk about. So what are the issues with The Sims 4 ? The big problem with The Sims 4 for me is shallow game play. This can be divided into several categories, but the shallow game play is the main point in which The Sims 4 fails miserably. The lack of an open world, 90% of worlds are set dressing, the sims which do not have a personality at all, the budget cuts in animating simple stuff like opening an elevator door, sims 's actions have zero consequences, relationships between sims feel shallow, etc. These points help make the game play less and less realistic and also less interesting. I am not interested in a SIMULATION game if this game is not realistic. The Sims 4 feels like a game that was meant to make money by doing as little as possible. This can truly be seen in the $300+ USD worth of expansion packs. If these expansions actually gave a ton of content, I would not complain, but even with ALL the content installed, The Sims 4 still is an extremely boring game if you bought it for the game play. I think The Sims franchise has lost that bit of magic that it once has. Now it's just a part of EA 's money grabbing machine. Expand

When the Sims 2 got bloated, they went to Sims 3. Again, new, better, etc., with the addition of some odd mechanics. However, it had less content, so it required some expansions to be fun. People complained, sales dropped

    Now, EA had a choice:
    1) Make a great game with new everything, and expand on it later. This would be the obvious, money-making choice.
    2) Continue with the Sims 3 idea, without enough content. This would be the bad choice.
EA went for option 3: make the basic architecture of a game, but don't fill in anything. Then charge money for everything. The result is obvious; low sales, low reviews.

It's not that we're spoiled after playing the other Sim games with all the expansions, it's that this new thing is practically unplayable; there's nothing to do. It is not fun. After seeing sales drop in Sims 3, I'm surprised they went this way.

The answer to the current state of EA is simple; fire the managers, and let game designers make the choices again. Managers want money, now. They want Origin, because they don't want to pay Valve for putting games on Steam, but they also ignore the massive sales Steam brings. They want copy protection, and ignore that pirates will always find a way, while normal (non-pirating) people are the victims aggressive protection (also, note that Steam lowers piracy). They finally expect people to pay NOW for possible DLC LATER. Seriously, fire all of them, and start over making proper games.

I only have a couple of the expansions, because at that point I got sick and tired of EA's way of milking its player base. Even with a few major Expansion packs and about a dozen minor ones and item packs... the game is lackluster. You never really feel you can really customize your character to something you want. Everything just feels barebones to the max, EA has done EVERYTHING to give you the bare minimum.

I had not played any of the Sims games since the Sims 1. That one only had 8 Expansion packs... the Sims 2 had more, the Sims 3 had more than the Sims 2 and now the Sims 4 has more than the Sims 3... yet it feels even more barebones than the Sims 1 was.

The Sims 4 is one of those big money makers for EA; you can tell, because they don't even include Expansions or packs in EA Play service. Even EA Play Pro only has 2-3 packs. So even if you pay their monthly service, they are too cheap to offer you a full Sims 4 experience.

I'm sick and tired of EA's bullcrap capitalist ways. I'm done with EA.

Even if this means I won't get the Mass Effect Remastered experience, I decided EA is a blacklisted company in my books. They do not give a crap about the games they make, all they care is to rip you off and make you pay big money for what is litteraly very much nothing.

    F*** OFF EA!

While an enjoyable title that has been polished up and seems generally very modern, it cannot be expected that The Sims 4 is not going to be compared to The Sims 3. In this respect, it seems that while the game took a few steps forwards, it also took a few steps backwards by abandoning features that were very helpful and appreciated in the previous versions. It does have new features that people have been waiting for, such as emotions and more personality for the Sims. As for now, for some players it may not quite be worth to abandon The Sims 3 for it, but for new players looking for a first experience with the franchise, they may have an easier time navigating than former The Sims 3 players. People that have previously enjoyed the latter may be disappointed by the menus (Sim creation, building, or navigating town), as they have been so massively oversimplified that they are now actually confusing.

How would you react if you bought a new Elder Scrolls game and realized that half of the cities are unavailable (because TES6: World Adventures is around the corner), there are only 4 weapons (TES6: Accessories), you can’t ride horses (TES6: Pets), there are only 12 quests (TES6: Careers), 2 guilds (TES6: Friends) and 3 spells (TES6: Supernatural)?
