・If you want to install the mod, you should buy it, if you don't, you shouldn't buy it
・You shouldn't buy some DLC, and even if you do, you should buy it when it's on sale
・Bugs happen quickly, so you should be patient, and on rare occasions, all data may disappear, so you shouldn't put too much thought into this game.

A really enjoyable game. However, not worth it as a base game- get a few expansions on sale, personally I'd recommend Seasons, Cats and dogs and Get To Work for starters.

This game is monopolist in category Life Simulator. The Sims 4 is fine in graphics but the best in gameplay. You can build any house what you want and every person what you can imagine. You have a 3 cities and a lot interesting place in it. Also you can have families in all that third cities. I love The Sims series, and this game is ultimate Sims!

I love the Create-A-Sim new concept! Dragging, pulling, and reshaping the face and the body without slide bars, to create a unique Sims. Something that I love to do!

The return to The Sims 2 concept of closed lots and neighbourhoods/worlds is not as bad as I expected because you can travel and move in through the worlds freely and easily. You can have a vacation or a day off on Sulani,

The return to The Sims 2 concept of closed lots and neighbourhoods/worlds is not as bad as I expected because you can travel and move in through the worlds freely and easily. You can have a vacation or a day off on Sulani, while living in an apartment in San Myshuno just with one call /the "Travel" option/. It's not bad at all.

I am happy that they kept the tradition to have different graphics and animations, than the previous game. You know that every sequel is unique and this one is really fresh and colourful in every aspect.

I am not into the building but by the time I tried it, I can see a lot of new options which are huge pros to the game.

The biggest cons are the endless line of expansions, stuff, kits, etc. staff which might affect the game's quality, but in the end, you are not obliged to buy all of them.

The game is another great addition to the franchise and I am happy to have it next to The Sims 3.

Buying the Seasons expansion pack is a must. It makes the game soo much better. It is also quite expensive to buy extra things, so I recommend buying when there's a sale (it happens quite often) Overall playing The Sims 4 is like going to your own therapy. It feels soo good and it'll give you the best feeling ever.
You can build, create sims and make amazing stories. You'll definitely find something in the game that is for you!

This is actually a good game, everybody says that is bad because the older sims game had some features and this don't, but is not bad. The updates did better the game and now it's getting more fun.

I confess that I haven't played version 4 of The Sims much. I can say that the ones that impressed me the most were version 1 and 2. After the third version, I noticed that the game lost its enchantment, despite being considered a good game.

though the base game was released perhaps too early, they have certainly redeemed themselves in the last few patches and updates. though if you're a simmer that likes to travel, or visit lots beware: the dreaded sims 4 loading screen. it's definitely not as interesting as the sims 3 loading screens, but sometimes they take just as long.

Love the series and this review is for the overall game with the DLC included. The game itself feels empty if played with the deluxe edition. It might not be liked by others and the 3rd one seemed more open world, but I do love that the sims are more intelligent and there's more stuff to do.

A lot of user reviews are criticizing certain features for not being there, but a lot of those features are among those added by expansion packed **even in the Sims 3**. When is the Sims ever finished in the base game? Never! That being said, I think that the base game for the Sims 4 is still a great starting point. The way that they've evolved sims' dreams, desires, and emotions adds a whole new aspect to the game that I will never have spent enough hours delving into. I run into glitches and bugs from time to time, but I've been playing the Sims since the beginning and, from what I can recall, sims games have always been that way. It just comes with the territory of a game that's constantly evolving. When I'm playing the Sims 4, I feel like my sims have fuller lives than they ever did before. It's easy to dream up dialogue in your head while you're playing because of all the different emotions and the way that sims engage one another. 4 is personally my favorite installment. Expand

Dying is shown comically, and one of the best things is that People can come back as ghosts ;), and the word Sex itself is never used, but is referred to as Woho, messing around or trying for a baby, which is also the only way a Sim can get pregnant. I think it's harsh that some critics say there is violence in the game. There is no blood, nothing is broken and (my personal feeling) fights are extremly rare and again, look comic.

The Create-a-Sim is very intuitive and super easy to use, the emotions are a great game mechanic (I actually didn't know that they haven't been in a Sims game up until now), and creating homes is surprisingly simple, which is very high praise coming from me.

Yes, there are areas in which this game could be improved (make it a bit more open, for one), and yes, you may get bored after a while and have to use mods to make it better, but come on, people, this isn't worth a 0. This isn't worth anywhere from a 0-5. As a newcomer to The Sims series, I'm giving this a 9.

You get hundreds or maybe thousands of hours of entertainment with great graphics, great gameplay that's simple but offers a ton of possibilities. The two major expansions are worth their asking price with all that they add as well. I haven't yet purchased the smaller packs.

In this game, they upgraded their style. Instead of going for a realistic style, as in the Sims 3, they turned it into a bright, shiny cartoon look. While this may be eye candy, the point of the Sims franchise is to simulate the real world in a video game. Without that touch of realism, it doesn't FEEL real, and looks more like a Spongebob episode. Another subtraction to this game would have to be the full world access. They removed full world access, so you can only pick where you would like to go. They also removed advanced customization for your Sim, leaving you with fewer options than before. They also removed MANY free things in the Sims 3 and turned them into a $20.00 expansion pack.

One of the only things I found interesting (and somewhat better) in the Sims 4 was the ability to click and drag the Sim's features in CAS (Create A Sim) mode, rather than using a slider. Although, they promised that you would be able to make your Sim look like whoever you desire. Sadly, this isn't true.

I love how each sim feels very unique and actually have a personality, if you give them certain traits their personality and choices reflect that without your input unlike sims 3 where every sim felt like exactly the same and required your input to progress them.

I love that the neighborhood is segmented into different areas so the game overall runs extremely smooth and my fps never drops even if their is a huge party with tons of sims. My load screens only last 3 or 4 seconds so no complaints about that.

I am extremely hopeful that Maxis will introduce expansion packs to expand the seasons and the generations so I can watch my sims grow up and go to school live an entire life cycle, that's the only thing that the game is missing in my opinion.

Sims 4 is a huge step forward in the core mechanics, graphics, and A.I. but it also lost all of its previous expansions and content but the game will continue to grow and improve with time.

I wish we could give partial points because I'd give this a 7.5. I read where this game was a downgrade from Sims 3. Only superficially. Pros - Many improvements over The Sims 3. Better graphics, smooth camera movement, switching between build mode and Live mode is almost instantaneous. Many more options when in conversations

Cons - Hideously expensive! $40 bucks for 3 extra jobs? Really? Pretty sure they intentionally skimped on the base game to gouge us with DLC. This is not appreciated and this will affect future purchases if you're listening EA! However, The Sims has always been very expensive so any veteran knows what we're getting into by purchasing it. Towns also seem smaller but I'm sure EA will be happy to sell us expansions at a premium.

If you have the money, this is a very fun experience and a decent improvement over The Sims 3. I think many people are rating this game based on the The Sims 3 with a dozen expansions and that is not a fair comparison. I understand as I had most of the Sims 3 expansions. So far, I'm glad I made the change.

It gets so much negative feedback. Be honest this game is like a 7 or 8 out of 10, not a 3 out of 10. I like this game a bit. It's not as good as the Sims 3, but it's good. I would get in when it's like $39.99, but not $59.99 or $69.99.

Here's the thing about the Sims 4. Yes, it's not /actually/ what we were lead to believe, a complete and utter improvement over the Sims 3. For one, the mood system is a notable improvement over the single-axis system. Moodlets can build off of each other, and there are four distinct, positive moods to be had. Inspired, Excited, Happy, and Flirty. I cannot say how it is in the long-term, but quite frankly my first impression is favorable enough to give this a solid 8, though truthfully I'd sooner go for 7.5.

The fact that there are no open neighborhoods is something of a half-truth. Specifically, there are, 'Blocks' that you can visit. Not the actual in-game term, but there are subsections of the neighborhood that you can go to. These are relatively open, and short loading screens separate each individual lot. My loading times were only a second or two, giving a better sense of freedom than expected. In short: Yes. It's not the Sims 3. But it's nowhere near the Sims 2, like everyone is decrying it as.

Thirdly: Lack of features. EA has mostly fixed this, as of June 2015, and here I am playing just the base game. Pools are a thing, basements are a thing, ghosts are a thing, even the open world has an acceptable (Note: Acceptable, not complete and very good) sense of freedom. Some of the expansion pack jobs even allow you to follow your sim to work, from the looks of it. People have been requesting that for the longest time.

Overall: I think EA is starting to realize that you can't ship a half-finished game. Yes, they realized it after launch? But they still realized it in this case, as the Sims being their cash cow, they can't afford to screw it up too badly, for too long. Otherwise, it'd stop being their cash cow.

The emotions feature is great and very glad they added this feature in the new series. It was something I had missed but could never explain I had missed it. Not sure why anyone is griping about pools because I have a pool at my house. The graphics have improved drastically. The only thing I liked about 3 and what is missing from this game is freely exploring the whole town from the house you are currently at. If they could add this in, it would be great. I love the Sims 4 and 3 but I think they made the sims4 a bit simple when you are buying items, you cant create your own design and well it can get boring, the cities are too small and really the lots are usually only 20x30 at the most I only found one lot that had 40x50 I like big homes and I would like to see the school or a beach and some tall buildings, but no they made it a simple town with nothing in it, the towns also need more houses. if you put the cities from the sims3 in the sims4 game it would be better. the people are great you can make them better but the clothes and the traits really make me mad. so make the towns bigger and better and give more traits and clothes for them and they are good to go. :) Expand

There is a heavy emphasis on emotions and The Sims has always been about keeping your Sims happy and well taken care of, and the new focus has made the game a lot more interesting.
The build mode has been improved, you can now easily resize walls and you can even pick up entire rooms! There are plenty of customization options to choose from as well

    Cons:
The new Create a Sim mode has some interesting aspects, for example, dragging and dropping certain features to alter them, but you can only choose 3 main traits, there are less customization options, Create a Style is gone and you can no longer create toddlers (How much of a big deal is that to anyone anyway?)
The open world aspect from The Sims 3 is gone. Now it is a bland and generic world map, with the inability to create new lots, you only get 3 empty ones and a few houses to choose from. If you want to travel a lot, instead of driving or running there, you have to sit through a loading screen, EVEN IF YOU WANT TO GO ACROSS THE F*****G STREET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall, I had a lot of fun with The Sims 4 and many things have been improved, but all of the innovations made in The Sims 3 have been ignored and it feels like a greatly improved version of The Sims 2.

    - First of all, The Sims is a simulation game, where graphics fall on inferior stages. Where the Sims 4 managed to bright is the realism, which is a better than the Sims 3, consisting in better interactions, better looking sims, improved AI and lot better game mechanics.

    - Secondly, even it lacks in content, it still brings a solid and comprehesive style of gameplay, which makes it a truly addiction.

    - Then, EA confirmed that The Sims 4 will have a lot more EPs than The Sims 3 had, and we can see that in less than half a year, the team put back the pools, cut some glitches and brought 2 ( 1 upcoming ) expansions.

    - I know the accustomed players with this series, like me are missing the common features like toddlers, open world and other items, but the team is working to make them possible by this year.

For me, I mean, I understand that these things had to be pushed back to make space for other new stuff that will make the game a great universe of addiction, when all EPs are coming back.

I say, let's give it a chance, stick with the Sims 3, until the game is complete and then compare it. It;s worth it, it gets better!

Overall, I find the Sims 4 to be stunningly underrated - and for bizarre reasons.

Although many aspects of gameplay have been removed from previous generations (such as Create-A-Style and open worlds), there are clear reasons for these removals, the most obvious being the Create-A-Style removal, due to the extreme lag experienced by many players during almost all Sims 3 gameplay. Moreover, the multitude of design options available in Create-A-Sim allow for a large variety of options. The loading screens, while present while changing neighbourhoods, are quite short and a small price to pay for nearly-lag-free gameplay.

One important improvement for the series made by this game is that of family connection. In previous games, families living in the same household required player-directed interaction in order to build relationships, however the Sims 4 allows friendships to be made through simple daily activities like eating a meal together.

My biggest complaint about this game is its ease. Most aspirations are unrealistically easy to complete and many can be accomplished within the course of a week in-game, any student can achieve a grade of A within four in-game days, without a great deal of focused activity on the part of the player.

Juegazo, sin dudas, me atrevo a decir que el mejor de la saga y de su género. No sé que es pero este juego tiene algo que te tienta a jugarlo, las cosas que quitaron no valen nada, las que agregaron son lo mejor!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was a The Sims 2 lover and self-proclaimed pro (built an empire from zero to millionaires and no, I didn't cheat) and I was a The Sims 3 hater and quitter. If you are somewhat like me, you are going to love Sims 4. If you prefere the neighbourhood-focused, eagle-eye type of gaming (and did I mention nasty neighbourhood-focus?) that was in the Sims 3 you're probably going to dislike it... With the Sims 4 it depends on what your preferences were with the old games.

I read many reviews before deciding on if I should put my hard earned money on this game and I wasn't so tempted to do so after I got so disappointed with Sims 3. But my oh my am I happy that I decided to buy. IT IS LIKE THE SIMS 2, but MUCH BETTER!

    WHAT HAS IMPROVED:
The sims are much more complex, they can multitask, they are more fun to work with and develop. The architectural tools are precise and fullfilled, the build-your-sim-tool obviously the best so far with the minor letdown of no height adjustement (and strange fact that the teenagers are as tall as adults?). The many small tedeous details that were so time-consuming from earlier games have dissapeared, for example how easy the Sims pick up plates to how you can pay bills and choose to travel from your cellphone, you don't have to wait an eternity for a visitor, it's possible and easy to visit another lot and control your home-lot at the same time, people around your household also get older when you do (and you can switch that function off but I think it makes the game more real), you control music playing from the radio without the sim having to do anything, you can eazy breazy breastfeed your baby (yeye because I'm a momma!), I could go on and on. Simply improved and more fluent gaming!

I've read many complaints about the personalization tools from Sims 3 being gone (well I think it's a big relief) and that you don't get much stuff in the game and I think that is incorrect. The Sims 3 personalization tool was too heavy, took forever to load, had too much to choose and after a while you would just say "f*ck it, I don't care" and stop using it. You get a lot of clothes, furniture and stuff with Sims 4 and many choices of colour and design for each product which makes the personalization of your home and clothing much more comfortable yet stimulating. I also like how much furniture gets unlocked depending on your sims development. The career climbs and assignements are much more fun then ever before and you have to lead a pretty complex fake-real life in the game to reach you goals!

BIG plus for that your different households can interact with each other which makes it even easier to control the destiny of your family.

    WHAT I THINK NEEDS IMPROVEMENT:
The career choices are far too few to match all the types of sims you can build. For example my bodybuilder-bro sportsloving guy, would he be a secret agent/astronaut/journalist irl? No, I think he would be a carpenter, a plumber, maybe working as a fitness guru. I mean come on, why can you be a stand-up comedian but not a doctor, teacher, handyman or even gold digger? Why can't you choose more current careers like personal trainer, reality star, fashion designer, office bearer aso. It will all probably (hopefully!) come with the expansion packages (since EA Games are greedy bastards....) but ultimately I think it was a case of "let's just pick it and run with it" when it comes to the careers you can choose. Somewhat rushed.

It is quite disturbing as a gamer and viewer that the teenagers look exactly like adults and are of the same height... That should definitely get changed in the next update, with all the realness updates this is a backlash in the irl-departement. Also I was furious when I first read about the lack of toddlers before I bought this game, and now after playing and building a sims-family, I think it isn't as bad as I thought but also a stepback when it comes to the realness of the game. I mean if my life-ambition is a big happy family, how can I fully enjoy my ambition without having memories of having fun with little todleroos? I doesn't have to be that profound, it can be as easy as having babies but you simply have toddlers, please EA Games?

The only tool I wish was more complex for personalization is the hair/eye colouring tool... Now I simply can't hit the spot when designing my favourite celeb, myself or real people I know.

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT, a review by someone that focuses on MY family, MY empire, MY household, MY gaming. With the Sims 4 I have much more control and I can be more focused then with The Sims 3, yet the game is much more fluent and complex then the Sims 2.

It might not be perfect, but it does a pretty good job for a base game. Pools etc are coming back. Maxis has confirmed this, not having pools never bothered me.

In sims 3 I never customized my sims face because I didn't like any of the faces provided and didn't like the face customize they gave. Also I may not like how you get promotions with the "make 10 friends" but it makes it difficult instead of sims 3 where you just had a certain skill level.

So I do enjoy this game. there are down falls like closed world but there are many things you will like about the game. My suggestion if you are thinking about buying a game is to find a youtuber and watch about 5 parts of their lets play and see if you would like to stick with sims 3 or get sims 4.

I really am not sure what to think of Sims 4. It's a great improvement from Sims 3, but its generically the same thing. The worst part is the favt that whenever you take your date, you only got a bar. Hell, the place is extremely shabby. An open-world environment would be excellent, yet, this is over 9.60 GB of space on your PC. Its good if sorts.

The game feels very alive and dynamic. The Sims are different, more interactive and more reactive. There are countless charming little touches to the way they respond to one another and their environment. Still just a base game and it needs more stuff, but what is there is good for now. There are some fun items that haven't been seen before and lots of game play to be had.

As it's mentionned be everyone, the sims4 did have some cut fonctionnalit compared to the sims3, but these are not stepback only but the openworld. The sims game is based around simulating life, the core of the game is to have sims with personnality, capable of taking action from their own. That's were the Sims4 is a great improvement compared to the previous game.
Personnaliy, the sims in the previous game bored me, just puppet just capable of random actions, here you got ones with caractère, not only traits to restrain them, but traits to give them preference in their actions or conversations. It's not perfect but it's a lot better.

We can argue than when MAXIS give us a new iteration, it could come with much features regarding what they already developped in past extensions, that it is to few for such a long developpement. But here, i'm juging what's in this game, and the content and the improvements of the game toward it's predecessor (the basic game), and it's good.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So before I purchased this game I had read numerous reviews about how horrible it was and how there was only few positives to the game. After doing some reading around, I came across the Sims 4 walk through on youtube and that made me decide to buy it despite all of it's negative comments, and it was worth it. I have never in all of my sims playing from the first to the third had so much fun socializing with other sims. This is the first time you actually get reactions based on what was said or done. Every sims game is different, and if you really liked the way the sims 3 was set up then play the sims 3, or if you liked the first sims (which I still play) then buy it and play it because it's still available to buy. I choose which to play depending on my mood. This base game already has so many features, i'm beyond excited to see what they do with the expansion packs, especially pets! Your also able to talk to the bartenders and other people sims that were just there before, you can sing in the shower, talk while you dance, eat, etc, and you can even choose your walk! This is just a few new positives out of a whole bunch I haven't discovered yet. This is an upgrade, they just let go of little things that took up space. If you liked decorating based on color the Sims 3 is ideal for you. Of course there are some glitches at the moments and some bumps here and there that i'm sure will be fixed with time, but this is a huge upgrade to me. I haven't hardly decorated because there is so more to do besides make your house, and I don't spend so much time customizing my sims i'm done playing the game by the time i'm out of create a sim like the sims 3. I quit the game just so I could go online and write a positive review about it. I'm glad they are finally upgrading it in a way it needed to be upgraded in. Don't compare this base game to 10 expansion packs in the Sims 3, it will never be as good. Expand

This version of the sims is an awesome updated version of the sims. You can travel between different towns with a loading screen of 5 seconds (Depending on your computer processor). Also you live on a lot, and on that lot you can travel between several different houses without loading screens, and so many people walk by your house and around the lot that you never miss traffic.
What I do happen do dislike is there is NO dishwashers, nor pools. I'm sure it will come out on an expansion, but as for now that kind of upset me.
I created an account just to let you know that you aren't wasting your money if you can enjoy a new era of The Sims. people don't understand where the Sims came from to be rating them such low points. The Sims 3 wasn't a step up in some peoples eyes (like mine), however The Sims 4 is really a great change in The Sims series. I Love the emotions, the worlds, the people and how they act, the multitasking, building, and so many more great feature this game has to offer. 9/10 because of no dishwashers or pools.

Compared to the other core Sims releases, Sims 4 stands out as the best so far. While Sims 3 decided to go big with massive content, it ended up hurting itself in the long run with horrible performance issues and a drain on computing power. Sims 4 is completely refined down to it's main elements and the improvements to the Sims themselves are mind blowing. Sims 4 has excellent graphics and the game as a whole runs smoother and performs better than any game I've ever played on a PC. Running on high settings and it's less than a strain on my computer than Sims 3 on low settings.

The lack of some features from previous games definitely hurts it, but ultimately what they did add balances it all out. The new Sim emotions, AI and multitasking are absolutely phenomenal. This is the first game in the series where I've left free will on, because this is the first time it's actually worked properly and intelligently. Multitasking is very interesting and can be very comical at times. But the new emotions is what really cemented this game as the best for me. It adds an all new depth to the game. And the more I discover about the emotions, the more depth I find. Each emotion has mood modifiers and balancing them out can sometimes feel RPG-esque. Certain objects have emotional mood modifier auras, almost every action you make in the game will affect these modifiers. And this becomes important to balance because the emotions limit or open activities, choices and dialog options.

This game blew my expectations out of the water, the extremely smooth and fast game play has me awestruck and the game is just plain fun. Sims 4 definitely needed another year or so in development to actually add the stuff that was cut (it was mostly cut due to time constraints). But there's still a chance it'll be implemented in with future patches and expansions.

While an enjoyable title that has been polished up and seems generally very modern, it cannot be expected that The Sims 4 is not going to be compared to The Sims 3. In this respect, it seems that while the game took a few steps forwards, it also took a few steps backwards by abandoning features that were very helpful and appreciated in the previous versions. It does have new features that people have been waiting for, such as emotions and more personality for the Sims. As for now, for some players it may not quite be worth to abandon The Sims 3 for it, but for new players looking for a first experience with the franchise, they may have an easier time navigating than former The Sims 3 players. People that have previously enjoyed the latter may be disappointed by the menus (Sim creation, building, or navigating town), as they have been so massively oversimplified that they are now actually confusing.

The Sims 4 is just a foundation of a game. How would you react if you bought a new Elder Scrolls game and realized that half of the cities are unavailable (because TES6: World Adventures is around the corner), there are only 4 weapons (TES6: Accessories), you can’t ride horses (TES6: Pets), there are only 12 quests (TES6: Careers), 2 guilds (TES6: Friends) and 3 spells (TES6: Supernatural)?
