    Too much DLC. It's funny that the game is free on Steam. Because you have to buy 70 DLCs to get the actual game. I can't stand EA.

    Very pretty looking simulation but lacking gameplay features to an extent that I do not consider it a game. It is nice for building houses and creating sims but it is not actually playable as the Sims and worlds are very shallow, all alike and repetitive. The game can be very buggy as well. Also the DLC system is out of hand and way too expensive. You have to pay over 1000 US Dollar if youVery pretty looking simulation but lacking gameplay features to an extent that I do not consider it a game.     I guess i just don't really understand the appeal of a game like this. I think it's super repetitive to take over the life of a sim and live a standard human life while you build up a networth to buy more...furniture? I dunno, I hate it

    It's just worse than Sims 3 in every way and all of the content seems to be locked behind these weirdly expensive expansions. I don't know who's buying these though. I'm a couple of days in and I don't feel the need to ever pick this one up again.

    Sims 4, isn't the Sims any more, it hasn't been for years, this game feels like a micro transaction, the base game, and the rest of the expansion packs. The game has no replayability, and it will get boring eventually, if you need to watch a YouTube video that says "10 ways to make the Sims 4 fun again" the game isn't fun to begin with. While the newest generation of Sims players whoSims 4, isn't the Sims any more, it hasn't been for years, this game feels like a micro transaction, the base game, and the rest of the expansion packs. The game has no replayability, and it will get boring eventually, if you need to watch a YouTube video that says "10 ways to make the Sims 4 fun again" the game isn't fun to begin with. While the newest generation of Sims players who haven't played the past games will gladly spend thousands on a broken game. I will wait for paralives.     No Open World. No Burglars. No Story Progression. No cars. No Teen Prom. No High School Diploma. No Private Schools. No Auto Roof. No Grocery Shopping. No School Buses. All 3 age groups are exactly the same; Same Height. Same Voice. Same Appearance. What a ******* Joke!

    The "only" thing TS4 has going for it is "Create-A-Sim" and "Building." That's it. The actual gameplay is boring, shallow, and unrealistic. If it weren't for all the TS4 modders, House builders, and YouTubers, TS4 would be dead. No one would even play it.

    As for updates, it's all garbage. They are trying to implement Story Progression, but it's not working. It's still lame. And guess what EA is releasing for TS4 this summer... more kits! Yay! NOT! Move on EA. Give us TS5 already and make it like TS4 should have been.    … Expand

    EA is a vile Russian company. They are canceling the game set in Russia and the CIS countries, referring to supposedly laws that do not exist. This is just disgusting behavior! There are many LGBT people and those who support them in Russia and the CIS countries. To cancel this set in the CIS and Russia means to offend them all.
    Shame on EA! A shame!

    I like the game itself, but i don't like EA policy. You can't just ripping off a huge part of your community and think that they will be ok with that. Read the law or explain youself better to us!
    We deserve the proper answer!

    Honestly, the 3rd game was better than this. It was boring to me. Areas to explore are very limited. The game only added new graphics in order to make easy money and removed some good aspects in the process.

    The Sims 4 is quite a stepdown from the previous Sims games. I am disappointed by the amount of features that are missing here but were present in past entries. It seems like EA has shifted their focus towards the creative side of things, such as the Sims creation and building, and has left the day-to-day gameplay side of things dry. I love looking at the game, but not playing it myself...

    Only good thing about this game is the sim creation tool, everything else is just garbage, why?
    The gameplay consists of "eat, shower, job, repeat"
    The sims are constantly stressed and constantly need something, JUST SHUT UP!
    Sims 1 is better than this in every aspect, its only outdated

    I remember the first time I launched Sims 3 . I was astonished, it was awesome! The ability of walking in the world freely was the best part of the game. And they took it away from us. I was both angry and sad when I started to play Sims4, I thought it is just a bad joke. The animations can be better but it does not make the game better. The only better thing is a building mode.     a good idea but horribly executed, likely i got mine through gamepass ultimate through EA desktop but the interface is completely and totally complicated. just trying to build a basement was like trying to control a nuclear reactor and requires you to watch a video on youtube about how to build a basement. it should work like this:
    1. set a room as a staircase for the basement

    the video didn't even help, it just confused me even more.

    likewise the sim's are basically robots. they don't do what they need to, surely if they need to go to the toilet or have some food they could do it themselves instead of me sending them a command. what's this i hear about "autonomy" and how the sims can run themselves, sometimes they will do things on their own, such as sleep... on the couch. despite there being a bed.

    i really wanted to like the sims. it would seem like my kind of game, a game where you didn't need to do much aside from upgrade the house and send commands to do more complicated things such as deciding what they will eat so when i tried it i only played a few hours before giving up.    … Expand

    After playing the sims franchise since 2007 and having been playing the sims 4 on and off since 2014 when it first released. The sims 4 even after all these years feels lacking to it predecessors. Completely unplayable for me now. If you want to play a life simulation game I'd say you're better off with the sims 2 or 3.

    Worse than The sims 3 and that's for sure! Sims are too much stupid, too much just standing around somewhere, and they're always trying to communicate with someone they don't know, which looks strange. Still in the game is very, very boring.

    While an enjoyable title that has been polished up and seems generally very modern, it cannot be expected that The Sims 4 is not going to be compared to The Sims 3. In this respect, it seems that while the game took a few steps forwards, it also took a few steps backwards by abandoning features that were very helpful and appreciated in the previous versions. It does have new features that people have been waiting for, such as emotions and more personality for the Sims. As for now, for some players it may not quite be worth to abandon The Sims 3 for it, but for new players looking for a first experience with the franchise, they may have an easier time navigating than former The Sims 3 players. People that have previously enjoyed the latter may be disappointed by the menus (Sim creation, building, or navigating town), as they have been so massively oversimplified that they are now actually confusing.

    The Sims 4 is just a foundation of a game. How would you react if you bought a new Elder Scrolls game and realized that half of the cities are unavailable (because TES6: World Adventures is around the corner), there are only 4 weapons (TES6: Accessories), you can’t ride horses (TES6: Pets), there are only 12 quests (TES6: Careers), 2 guilds (TES6: Friends) and 3 spells (TES6: Supernatural)? [Nov 2014, p.50]
