My favorite thing about this pack is the fact that each household plays and feels different depending on the type of pet you add to your households. The cats and dogs are very detailed, vibrant, and have very unique and distinct personalities. The cats and dogs are very detailed, vibrant, and have very unique and distinct personalities. My frisky cat is always running around the house, jumping onto counters and whatnot, while my lazy cat doesn't do much of anything besides meow when she needs attention. My playful dog will come beg to play fetch with my sim while my stubborn dog ignores discipline and continues peeing in the house. My glutton dog will eat his entire bowl of food in the morning and then beg for more food while my sims are eating breakfast, while my loyal and smart dog will stay by my sims side and learn to behave quickly. The new world added in this pack is beautiful and adds a lot of activities for the pets themselves, chasing birds, digging holes, exploring bushes, mud piles and fish piles, cats can even roam and jump around the environment. The vet aspect is also a lot of fun, your pets will occasionally get sick and you'll have to take them to the vet to care for them, you can also run a vet, and depending on the type of player you are that can be a good or bad thing. All in all there's a lot of thought and detail put into this pack. The three main new features, the cats and dogs, the new world, and the vet, are all so tightly knit together in such a deep and meaningful way that makes each and every last detail with these pets just as enjoyable as when I first got the pack. This pack feels like an expansion for your sims, these pets expand your sims lives in very subtle but impactful ways, these pets feel like real pets, and I love that. I would recommend this pack to anyone who wishes to expand their sim families with a little furry twist. Expand

A good addition. The animals will look good. It's bad that without the mod, the animals themselves walk in the same city, but I have a mod and so there are almost no disadvantages. The only bad thing is that it is in this part of the animals that the mood often falls and this is strange.

Una expansión divertidísima, con un montón de razas de perros y gatos muy personalizables, una nueva profesión (veterinario) y mecánicas nuevas divertidas. 7,8/10

Ultimately, the expansion is about the bond between human and animal, and with evolving relationships, dog training, and plenty of toys, it’s hard to put down. It may not have the bells and whistles that some players expected, but Cats and Dogs still gets my recommendation if you’re a pet lover.

The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs bravely reintroduces a game mechanic from The Sims 2: the player won't be able to control the pets. This feature might be seen as a step back in the evolution of the franchise but it is actually a good design choice that adds more realism and focuses player attention towards the interaction between the Sims and their beloved little friends, creating a well-crafted simulation experience.

There’s not a lot about this expansion that reinvents the wheel; the franchise has been around for almost two decades now, and each iteration essentially gives you flashier and more refined ways to enjoy old systems. The animals are realistic, have their own inscrutable temperaments, and sometimes live to frustrate; that’s their charm. You’ll be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t love hanging out with cute critters, and Cats & Dogs is yet another great addition to a consistently high-performing saga.
