The best MMO I've ever played. Sadly the number of players isn't what it was, but it still has a great community. The combat is original with skills being fully customisable. Fairly regular PVP and a whole bunch of PVE mobs and bosses

This is an incredibly diverse game with new features that bring a decidingly fresh feel to the mmorpg genre.

The guy that gave Ryzom a 3 has no idea what a good MMO should be.

This is the most refreshing game to have come along in a long time. It sets the bar higher for all the MMOG's that have to follow in it's footsteps.

Ryzom's art direction is stellar. Character animations are smooth and fluid. The world is living and breathing. The skill system is vast and character development options are boundless. This classic sandbox MMORPG boasts an enormous amount of PvE and PvP content. The game did not receive the publicity it needed to truly compete with the other big names of its generation. There's virtually no plot, and a lot of the mid-level game seems like a repeat of the novice-level game. [Jan 2005, p.84]

The only thing missing from Ryzom's customizable battling, harvesting, and crafting systems is a lack of bothersome bugs. [Jan 2005, p.102]
  3. A slow starter. However, it's a huge world which is full of big ideas. Jump in now for a game that promises to be an interesting take on a staid genre - or hold fire a month or two to see how it lives up to its promises. [PC Gamer UK]
