There's just not enough to attract a lot of people to this game. The story feels non-existent, the characters are dull, and the puzzles mind-numbing.
-
Extremely difficult puzzles and a vague plot sink this ambitious Myst clone.
-
Are you in need of a haircut? Pick up a copy of The Sacred Rings and a couple of hours later you’ll have pulled out so much of your hair you’ll be set. Too difficult, too derivative, too damned boring.
-
Only those gamers in it for the puzzles will get a kick out of this one--those who don’t get overwhelmed, that is.
-
AceGamezThere's clearly talent behind the game, producing quality visuals and a technically impressive and bug-free experience. The plot and characters are dull and lifeless however, and there's nothing here to draw you into the world and make you want to stay.
-
The limited gameplay with an atmosphere that is completely spoiled by some deviously frustrating design and lazy pathing leads to an experience that for most will be flat and lifeless.
-
PC GamerThe real puzzle is why anyone would consider this entertainment. [June 2007, p.71]
-
PC Zone UKIt's just a dull succession of (il)logic puzzles, stuck on an ugly, incomprehensible hub. [Dec 2007, p.80]
-
PC Gamer UKI feel only sorrow and embarrassment from having spent a bank holiday Monday wrestling with such garbage. [Aug 2007, p.92]
-
Aura 2 is terrible and I have no sympathy for it – Telltale Games have shown us with Sam & Max that you can still produce funny, clever, well designed and playable adventure games on a very low budget.
