The story itself feels very much like filler content, but the missions in the single player and survival do have their hooks in me.

The Red Solstice delivers tense action that relies mainly on its tactical variety. Its biggest flaw is lack of content and mission alternation.

Ironward’s Kickstarter-funded efforts have certainly paid off, and even as someone who doesn’t dabble much in real-time strategy style games, I thoroughly recommend at least checking out the demo available through the game’s official website.

By having a great community, developers that are very eager to improve the game and some great gameplay elements, this squad based, survival-action/ shooter/ rpg game stands out from the rest.

The Red Solstice offers a solid combination of mechanics and some impressive battle moments and can be a title that cooperative enthusiasts with solid friend lists will embrace in the long run.

The Red Solstice is very difficult to master, but if you spend enough time learning the game and find good friends to play it with, you will enjoy it.

The Red Solstice delivers. You get what’s advertised and that is perfectly fine. If you enjoyed titles like XCOM, Diablo and sometimes think back to 2004’s “Full Spectrum Warrior” with a warm nostalgic feeling, then you will undoubtedly enjoy this game and it’s tactical RPG-styled gameplay.

The Red Solstice is a well-crafted game but unfortunately is aimed only at the most dedicated players. Old-school gamers are in for an extremely difficult but rewarding tactical challenge.

Red Solstice may look unattractive and the story is shallow but playability is great and it has the power to entertain also individual even with its focus on cooperative multiplayer.

Getting to the center of the storm that is The Red Solstice isn't easy. A less-than-stellar tutorial and initial overload of information combined with a handful of quirks and bugs make it a game you have to stick with for a little while before you can fully appreciate its depth.

The long-awaited single player campaign isn't satisfactory at all: The Red Solstice still gives its best in the praised cooperative mode, but nowadays servers aren't so populated like a year ago.

The Red Solstice is a space RTS in Mars. The big problem is that The Red Solstice touches many topics that ends up being generic.

Some things are done amazingly good, some not so much.

I'm giving it a solid 7, but if everything dev team promised is true, I will re-evaluate this review in 6 months time and raise or lower the score accordingly. Decent game with room for improvement.
