    The Metronomicon is a rhythm game like few others. Any good programmer can put together a soundtrack and slap arrows on the songs, but The Metronomicon sets itself apart by way of numerous RPG mechanics that actually make you strategize a bit while you’re trying to keep the rhythm of the song going. Building note sets, queuing up the attacks, switching party members, defeating enemies, and surviving battles put The Metronomicon quite a step above most other rhythm games we’ve played. Moreover, it has just enough context in its story to keep things amusing in between and the soundtrack is a pretty fantastic mix of contemporary styles across the music industry. We just wish we had a dance pad to go with it when our hands start cramping.

    Bright, bold, and loud is the Metronomicon, and though it has a namesake broiled in evil, the game is pure, unfiltered goodness. A dance step game that is also a RPG battler, the game keeps you active, keeps you thinking, and loosens some of the stagnation for both genres by throwing them into a blender together. A grand concoction, The Metronomicon is a must have for any gamer.

    As a Rhythm RPG, the team at Puuba wanted to keep the strategic elements of a good role playing game but to also speed it up. The Metronomicon offers fun characters, a solid and wacky story line, strategic elements and some really great tunes. And with the colorful and fun character design, this is a game that should be dancing into everyone’s homes.

    The Metronomicon is a game for those who want their rhythm games to be a little different. Though the story is inconsequential, the various RPG elements spice up an otherwise nice twist on the standard rhythm game formula. The different modes give the game some legs, while the soundtrack is absolutely fantastic. Despite a few flaws here and there, The Metronomicon is certainly recommended for rhythm fans.

    The Metronomicon is bright and upbeat fusion of two genres that shouldn’t fit together as well as they do. There’s a great sense of humor running through the entire game from the character and monster designs, background details, and even item descriptions, and the audio holds up its end with an energetic soundtrack holding a large number of tunes that are fun to tap out attacks to.

    The task of combining rhythm action and RPG gameplay styles is not one that many developers would have been able to pull off as well as Puuba have with The Metronomicon. As well as a stack of great jams and entertaining gameplay, there’s plenty of polish and enough depth here to keep you stepping back to the dance floor.

    The Metronomicon comes together in a neat package which rhythm game fans will certainly get a deal of enjoyment out of. The soundtrack is varied, with highlights being songs from the likes of Perturbator, however it’s likely you will dislike just as many songs as you do like. Bringing in the RPG elements makes this game stand out from other rhythm games, and there’s enough here to keep you going through the end of the game and beyond.

    The Metronomicon is a good product, refined and polished. Rhythm game ethusiasts will probably love it but this is not for sure a game for everybody. The gameplay is neat and structured. The rpg elements add a strategic twist to the adventure, bringing innovation in a classic genre in which Puuba takes the opportunity to risk and succeed.

    Fun and entertaining with its eclectic mix of indies (never heard any of them if I’m honest), give a miss if you’re searching something that’ll give you a proper run for your money song choice with high BPM songs - since some stretch to a slightly unbearable 70 BPM.

    Metronomicon has a lot going for it — the songs are catchy, the combat is intuitive, and the storyline, while thin, is delightfully weird. I only wish the developers had found a way to let me enjoy the graphics. As it stands, it’s a game that plays well and is interesting to watch, but doesn’t manage to be both of those things at the same time.

    Slay the dance floor is a rhythm role playing game featuring a 6 hours long story mode that can be played single and local multiplayer, a freeplay mode, and once you complete the story an undless mode…
    The game tells the story of 8 newly graduated master of the rhythmic combat arts who set out to take down these fools that dare try to step to you on the dance floor
    youre here to slay
    the game sort of mixes jrpgs with rockband…
    you start out with 4 characters but youll unlock the other 4 as your progress through the story…
    You start by choosing a song and you get to slaying the dance floor in 1 of the 3 difficulties..
    playing the game is actually a bit tricky..
    you have to move back and forth between the 4 characters to pull of their different movesm but you have to use the directional pad or the shape buttons to pull of directions and combinations of directions..
    And combinations just don’t work on a d pad.. so youre either going to have to assign the dpad 2 rections in your head and give the other 2 to the shapes I ended up holding my controller on a weird angle and using just the shapes and switching characters with my middle pinky finger
    that’s what worked for me…
    switching is so important because there are different character classes here, you have characters that can do magic attack, protection for your team, healing, taunting, or tanks with tons of strength, but you cant use the same enemy over and over because they go on a cool down before notes will start dropping..
    as you progress the game youll end up unlocking 3 different moves for each character in your party, these moves all have an element attached them like pokemon and enemies do have a weakness…
    so its also important to have a balanced mix of elements to pick at an enemies weakness… and to make things more interesting you can order the amount of notes needed in a row to pull off an attack with those attacks getting a bigger boost the longer they take to activate..
    so you can make a weaker attack a little stronger by putting it on top, or make a strong attack even stronger.. and rearrange them for a boss battle…
    every song has a boss attached to it, but youre only required to beat a stages final boss to move on…
    you have to defeat them before the song is over or you have to restart.. this again is why its important to keep an eye on elements and arrange them strategically..
    characters will unlock multiple moves so you can swap in new ones if a boss is giving you too much trouble..
    bosses and sidequests which is basically a song you’ve already completed with a challenge attached to it will drop items and gear you can assign to your party to increase their stats or make them immune to certain enemy effects
    I had tons of fun just sticking to the story and swapping my characters and their moves, leveling them up, filling up my team attack meter and waiting for the perfect song and moment to unleash it on enemies giving me trouble
    but theres plenty here for those that want more, there are leaderboards and again multiple difficulties for you to play on and become a dance floor slaying legend…
    Slay the dance floor is easily one of the most fun rhythm games ive played and of course it has great music that will be stuck in your head for days
