The Gallery: Call of the Starseed is a first-person adventure that sets up the series, featuring a slow downturn into the truly extraordinary. Despite a few gripes, the game ultimately shines with gorgeous cinematics, realistic voice acting, and competent set design, making for a fun, albeit brief dip into one of the first VR games to feature motion controls. Teleportation and object interaction show its age—something we hope improves in the upcoming sequel.

Perhaps the most convincing virtual reality space so far, with a compelling mix of story, puzzles, and VR novelty. [HTC Vive tested]

Starseed is all over pretty quickly, maybe a couple of hours at best. And I don’t think it’s going to age very well, truth be told—we’re going to expect more complexity out of our VR sojourns, soon enough. But right now, at this moment, if you’re looking for something cool to show you what it’s going to be like to go adventuring in VR, this is a great place to start.

I played it on my HTC Vive and I only have a couple of hours into it at the moment. Most of that was spent exploring the first beach area getting familiar with the controls, interacting with my backpack, etc... Overall, I am very impressed. This game makes me excited for where VR will go. Full Review »

Call of the Starseed is an interesting game, environments are very good looking and immersive, controls are intuitive. Hard to believe that itCall of the Starseed is an interesting game, environments are very good looking and immersive, controls are intuitive. Hard to believe that it was made more than 2 years ago.
Main thing that I didn't like is item interactions: there are very few meaningful combinations and most of them are showed off in the first location and are not used to progress in a main quest.

Overall, it's good game, but very short, so if you are looking for value, better buy it on sale or in bundle with the second episode.
