The Escapists 2 is a worthy successor to the highly popular The Escapists. The improvements to the overall look, feel, and sounds of the original make this one very much worth picking up.

The Escapists 2 expands the idea of the original title and goes beyond; it packs a lot of prisons from which we can find some original and sometimes funny ways of escape. And this time, we can bring friends to the party, since it has cooperative and versus modes.

I never sat down with The Escapists 2 without smiling. Even during its rough first hours, its personality and a keen sense of humor kept me going. And as you discover its layers of challenge, intrigue, and variety, you'll be hooked. By turning the routine into a steady and engaging flow of progress, and by spicing things up with historical and fantastical locations, The Escapists 2 gets tremendous mileage out of its premise. Then you have the online, which is mildly problematic yet brimming with life and new ways to experience the game. You may be serving time in jail, but The Escapists 2 will ensure that you won't feel guilty about it. Now excuse me, I think I've earned some kind of punishment for that awful wordplay.

The Escapists 2 definitely delivered on its promise: there's lots to do and many different ways to escape. However, sometimes this can feel overwhelming while playing single player, and so the game really shines when playing with friends or taking on the timed escape maps. But even when escape seems impossible, there's still something satisfying about playing as a prisoner and testing what you can get away with.

The Escapists 2 improves on basically everything good the original game (released in 2015) had to offer. The mission system is complex and detailed, the combat system is pretty friendly and the quests alone are well designed and fun to play, whether you’re alone or with some friends in multiplayer.

A great step forward beyond its predecessor.

The Escapists 2 will delight you with new graphics, a multiplayer game including a LAN option and plenty of new exotic dungeons. Unfortunately, due to its high difficulty, somewhat frustrating mechanics and repetitiveness (no change since part one here), only the most skilled players will probably enjoy the game.

The Escapist 2 adds a multiplayer dimension to the previous game. If you have the opportunity to gather one or more friends around the same goal, you will be able to live very pleasant moments to cooperate.

When you find the right offbeat item, or barely squeak by a guard in Escapists 2, it's incredibly refreshing. However, the monotony of gathering items and playing errand runner for other inmates sours the experience, and the awkward controls don't help. For those who crave unforgiving challenges, the Escapists 2 brings them in spades, but it often comes at the cost of your patience.

That the most striking "innovation" in the second part of the indie game at the end is the multitude of bugs I've encountered is just annoying.

WARNING: Do not buy this one if you plan on playing Solo.

Honestly it feels like more of the same from the first one but this time they incorporated Co-Op. Problem is all the maps are designed for Co-OP and not well designed for single player. They're too large with too much stuff you have to do/get if you plan on escaping by yourself. Escaping co-op is way easier because the maps are designed for that. If you plan on playing solo just play the first one you won't be missing out by not playing this one.

Way better than the original. Can be challenging, but is very fun. Gets extra points from me, cuz you can play with friends!
