    Worst game in the series. incredibly boring catacombs wandering is 90% of the gameplay. Uninteresting and ugly characters who simply do not want to empathize

    Bad- Silly story climaxes; Cast characterizations feel flat. Thoughts- While some of The Devil in Me’s characterizations feel a bit too flat to really make the cast pop, and the more extreme moments of the story didn’t quite work for me, it’s hard to deny that this Dark Pictures entry has more going    Good-

    Thoughts-
    While some of The Devil in Me’s characterizations feel a bit too flat to really make the cast pop, and the more extreme moments of the story didn’t quite work for me, it’s hard to deny that this Dark Pictures entry has more going for it than not. The new ideas it introduces into the formula might ultimately be too few and far between to totally make up for some of the lingering issues that have held back these games since this anthology began, but it’s still a solid horror adventure for fans of the series and the genre.    … Expand

    I just beat the game, and have no desire to play it again it was so boring. The other three I wanted to replay this one feels like I am out 40 dollars for something I will never play again. I achievement hunt but game play and story on this was dreadful, worst so far. I got stuck in a book case, not a trap but clipped into a book case. They somehow made a murder hotel boring.

    After activating the game key on steam, instead of fully downloading the game, only 5 bytes are downloaded as a file "dummy.txt "that sounds like an insult.

    Hence I can't run the game due to the lack of 'exe.
    Checking the integrity of local files does not help.

    And this is a problem for many, people have bought the game, but they can't even download it.

    Ugly unlikable characters, boring drawn out scenes, more trash from Dark pictures...Horror without the cute college girl and sex appeal is like steak with seasoning. In fact alot of the female characters are so ugly they don't even look human,the ugliness mixed with digital animation makes the uncanny Valley ruin the whole experience.

    You don't expect great animations or graphics from this series, or deep puzzles, or a captivating plot or a cast that's more than canon fodder for failed QTEs.

    But someone bought a set of old Lara Croft animations for this one, so the character can climb and crawl and leap now, and as a result the whole level design is mercilessly stretched out, to the point where locations don't make    You don't expect great animations or graphics from this series, or deep puzzles, or a captivating plot or a cast that's more than canon fodder for failed QTEs.

    But someone bought a set of old Lara Croft animations for this one, so the character can climb and crawl and leap now, and as a result the whole level design is mercilessly stretched out, to the point where locations don't make any sense anymore to include that as much as possible. And don't you think you are allowed to fail in any way by falling down or jumping to your death. You won't get off this slow, linear ride that easily, oh no Sir.

    But there still is horror to be found here, like the movement controls that make you feel like you are drunk and ate a pound of glue. And in case you aren't pissed of yet there are other mechanics that occasionally bug out so that you will walk in circles around those really small spaces because a hint decided to not show up, or a cut scene decided no to trigger, or the button prompts lied, or one of your endlessly boring sidekicks stands in your way, so that you will slowly die on the inside because at this point you should have known better than buying the next installment of this series.    … Expand

    После прохождения внезапно прекрасной "House of Ashes" в меня вселилась огромная надежда и хайп на следующую часть, которая к тому же, является финалом 1 сезона антологии хоррор-игр "Тёмные картины", до этого я относился очень холодно к первым 2 частям серии, но мне наглядно показали, что в оболочке достаточно интересной концепции, формула то рабочая.
    Но потом случился "The Quarry",    После прохождения внезапно прекрасной "House of Ashes" в меня вселилась огромная надежда и хайп на следующую часть, которая к тому же, является финалом 1 сезона антологии хоррор-игр "Тёмные картины", до этого я относился очень холодно к первым 2 частям серии, но мне наглядно показали, что в оболочке достаточно интересной концепции, формула то рабочая.
    Но потом случился "The Quarry", следующая игра студии, которую склепали чуть больше, чем за пол года. Это кинцо уже никак не относилось к бюджетненьким Dark Pictures, представляя из себя AAA "духовного наследника" Playstaion-эксклюзива Until Dawn (Дожить до рассвета) для ПК-бояр, и игра тоже оказалась относительно неплохой. После этого ждать уже третий качественный продукт, выпущенный в период всего 12-ти месяцев, было бы глупо, я надеялся хотя-бы на 6/10.. ну потому что просто физически невозможно каждые пол года клепать хорошее интерактивное кино. В итоге всё оказалось даже печальнее и Supermassive выдала новый худший проект в своём портфолио, который смог переплюнуть даже "Little Hope", у которого ещё можно было найти хоть какие-то плюсы, причём уже через пару месяцев кампания выпустит ещё один проект во вселенной для Playstation VR 2 - "The Dark Pictures: Switchback", копец работники там кранчат за копейки, наверное.
    Тут же я вообще не знаю о чём говорить, 10-часовой сон даже в компании, даже для любителей жанра, я никому не могу посоветовать эту игру. Концепция последователя реально существующего маньяка Генри Холмса, построившим отель, полный ловушек, использована максимально бездарно, всё ограничивается задвигающимся стенами, перегораживающими проход, большую часть времени вы бродите по абсолютно дефолтным комнатам, а умираете либо от ножа маньяка, либо от ножа двигающегося манекена, нет, тут, конечно, есть комнаты "смерти", но они максимально банальные и не запоминаются. Персонажи тоже худшие, характеры никакие, их ветки недописаны, не говоря уже о том, что они надоели юзать одни и те же лица из части в часть, а ещё раньше в каждой их игре был хоть 1 малоизвестный, но хоть где-то заметный актёр из фильмов, тут, конечно, денег или фантазии уже не хватило. Я ещё опущу ужасное техническое состояние с кучей багов и задниками на уровне Playstation 2, а также ужасно неудобную камеру, которая начинает двигаться только через секунду после того, как повернётся ваша мышка.

    Mediocre story with clunky gameplay and terrible performance. Lets get one thing straight these games are low budget and thrown out way before they are ready and you can really tell with this game buggy audio, cutscenes not working right, T posing, and really bad ui. i really wish these devs could produce a game like until dawn again but it seems they are a one hit wonder.

    This might be the worst game of the year. Absolutely broken, with so many bugs, the controls are the worst, and the gameplay is so damn boring and uninspired. And the story is as bad or maybe worst than the last games in the series. Are more plot holes in this game than in any strainer, oh and the dialogue most of the time is braindead...

    - pleins de coupures de scène soudaines, ce qui tue l'immersion ;
    - il y a eu un ajout d'inventaire qui laisse pantois, l'utilité étant au final très limité.

    J'ai rarement été autant déçu par un jeu, vendre quelque chose n'étant pas fini étant inadmissible. Je ne recommande pas jusqu'à temps que le jeu soit patché (un jour peut-être).
    C'est dommage, de tout les Dark Pictures, c'était le plus prometteur niveau histoire et ambiance flippante, dommage que la pléthore de bugs soit présente pour gâcher l'expérience de jeu.    … Expand

    I've played every choice game under the sun and i just can't be positive on this one... its sooo bland and boring. They keep trying to make horror games as if it was a horror movie but there is a difference... watching a movie of it is easy but making decisions just after the character has just gotten themselves in a stupid moronic situation is headache inducing. Со временем мне как то не зашло, в каких то моментах жутко надоело бегать и что то искать пути и решения. Сцены хороши и интересны за исключением геймплея чтобы найти какой то путь в полном тьме. Игра бы стала лучше если сделали этот отель под стилемПриключение 5ерых людей в реальном истории ужаса серийного убийцы Генри Холмса, заставило держать интерес и напряжение в начальных уровнях. Со временем мне как то не зашло, в каких то моментах жутко надоело бегать и что то искать пути и решения. Сцены хороши и интересны за исключением геймплея чтобы найти какой то путь в полном тьме. Ужаса и напряжения в этом игре ощутил очень мало чем в остальных частях, так что могу сказать что эта часть хуже остальных, это мое мнение. Но все же задумка с реально история внедрить в игру это неплохо но мне в процессе игры к сожалению не зашло. Графика и вполне достойная анимация в этом игре хорошая.… Expand

Firstly, The Devil in Me is inferior to House of Ashes in everything, and secondly, it does not bring anything new to the series except for the appearance of inventory. That's not how they needed to finish the first season. I really hope that the quality of The Devil in Me is a consequence of the fact that Supermassive Games is busy with another more important sequel for season 2 of The Dark Pictures rather than the parallel development of The Quarry.     Can see that Supermassive is listening to player feedback. This one made me sweat way more than the other and the jump scares felt less gratuitous. Really enjoying this anthology and hyped for season 2! Was also great to see a diverse cast continuing in their games.

    We've come to the worst and the last game of the series. It's always been a mediocre series in general, but this last game was much worse than the others. I hope they don't develop any sequels anymore, I'm really bored with these games.

    This game has a weak plot introduction. All the previous games had a good reason to end up in the game’s plot i.e town, ship, cave etc. But this game is like “Just trust me, bro, Let's go to that place” and everyone’s like “Ok”.
    In some places, it showed me to press the left mouse button but wanted me to push Space. The ESC button also does not work in some menus.     Now about the story. Which should be the heart of this type of game. But where is the story? WHERE? **** Where? This game has no story at all. I kid you not you just get to run around the **** hotel the whole game. No plot. Running around being scared (the killer is not scary) of the killer is the plot. Characters have no depth to them. You won't even care what happens to them. **** I even enjoyed some of the brutal deaths I gave them intentionally, just because of how **** **** their character is.
    And this ****ty story goes on for how long? It's **** forever. This game has no right to be this long. What this game achieved is that you learn to torture yourself by playing this game. As if this game is the psychopath killer. Bravo devs, you did it.
    I am not wasting my time in their next game unless it gets fricking 8/10 in user scores.    … Expand

The story of the game was a big deception after what the trailers suggested, appart from that, the same empty main characters as in the other games, that makes you not get interest, and, maybe the VO was better, but the spanish dubbing is simply AWFUL.     The Devil In Me is a brutal, harrowing experience. The killer is monstrous, the choices to be made are nail-biters, and the story, when finally revealed, offers all the satisfaction of a opened puzzle box. The new gameplay mechanics fit seamlessly into the experience, and the additional player agency encourages investment in the story, rather than distracting from it. While nothing in the plot reaches the audacious heights of House of Ashes‘ finale and technical issues prevent co-op here from being the series’ best to date, it’s still a great experience, and the developers can be satisfied that they’ve ended the first phase of this series on extremely solid footing.

    If you expect a revolution in terms of gameplay, you’ll be disappointed. The developers still experiment in search of the perfect interactive cinematic experience formula, but their attempts are too modest to really make a difference. The Devil in Me is not only derivative, but also squanders the potential of its story and setting, and compared to The Quarry, looks like an unpolished project developed on a tight budget.

    The Devil In Me is one of Supermassive Games' most interesting title to date. It's an entry that expands on their classic horror formula while never straying far from the decisions that made these games so fun. Unfortunately the plethora of bugs made getting through this title a nightmare. While there is still fun to have in the story and gameplay, it's a title that's recommended to play through in a few months when these issues are fixed.
