Sep 24, 2023The Crew Motorfest may not be as flamboyant as Need for Speed or as open-ended as Forza Horizon, but Ivory Tower Studios, the developers behind the series, are clearly aiming for more than mediocrity. In an era dominated by Forza Horizon, they provide another option for the casual racing enthusiast.
-
Sep 21, 2023The Crew Motorfest doesn't reinvent the wheel and the simple controls put off anyone who likes demanding simulations. But the size, fleet and playlist variety are enough to keep up with the racing game competition.
-
Sep 21, 2023An engaging arcade racer with a wealth of colorful and enjoyable content, The Crew Motorfest slots itself among the great and undemanding racing games. With its satisfying driving model and diverse vehicle selection, it provides countless hours of fun.
-
Sep 20, 2023Beautiful, rich in content, varied in what it offers, The Crew Motorfest is a very good 100% arcade open world racing game. Riding on the heels of Forza Horizon, it is currently one of the most successful clones of the genre leader, even if this means that the French studio preferred to take the lead from its British competitor rather than plow its own furrow. The Ivory Tower software is more effective than surprising, but its qualities are numerous enough that we do not look at its predecessors, in retro, with regrets.
-
Sep 20, 2023Fun, colourful arcade racing game full of content, that leaves a lot of its potential out there on the road.
-
Sep 19, 2023The Crew Motorfest is a true evolution. The game improves the basics of the previous games while drastically improving their weak points: graphics and sound finally worthy of current standards despite some small bumps. The gameplay and arcade physics of the totally reworked and pleasant vehicles both at the controller and at the wheel, an original system of playlists and generous and varied general content.
-
Sep 18, 2023Forza mimicry aside, the improved handling and visuals, along with Grand Race mode, are a revelation.
-
Sep 16, 2023Fun, summery open-world racer in one of the most beautiful locations in the world that basically doesn’t do much wrong, but lacks a bit of its own identity.
-
Oct 11, 2023The Crew: Motorfest is just that, a celebration of (almost) all things that have a motor. There are a ton of cars from dozens of manufactures, even a DeLorean which I am currently saving for. I am not a race guy, but I had a lot of fun with Motorfest, especially once I unlocked the vehicle switching. Being able to go from a car into a plane at the press of a button is dope, while I wish the developers had tuned the controls for all the vehicles instead of just focusing on the cars; I never had a real issue controlling the planes, boats or off-road vehicles. But if you are looking to catch some beautiful Hawaiian sun, drive some of the most beautiful cars you’ve ever seen, then The Crew Motorfest might be for you.
-
Oct 5, 2023Motorfest is a great addition to The Crew franchise with some great changes and additions, providing players with one of the best arcade driving systems to date. However, with its lacklustre usage of a marvellous open world and weird design limitations, it certainly could be better. Despite these flaws, it is still one of the most exciting driving games.
-
Sep 18, 2023Despite this being a very good racing experience, one that will undoubtedly entertain, it just isn’t at the same level as Forza Horizon, at least not yet. Considering this is Ubisoft’s first attempt at that formula, they have given it a red hot go, but there is no escaping the fact that Horizon is a more complete and polished package.
-
Sep 18, 2023Crew Motorfest doesn't end badly, it's a good step forward for the series. A smaller area suits the game, as well as improved controls, physics, visuals. Maybe it's a shame that there is still a need for an online connection, or that Ubisoft is needlessly copying Forza Horizon and taking the already conquered island from Test Drive Unlimited.
-
Sep 17, 2023Motorfest a game full of content, with good ideas and plenty of things to experience, but gameplay-wise it feels a bit bland and lacks personality.
-
Sep 29, 2023Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but when it comes to games, you have to bring some of your own improvements to the table. The Crew Motorfest is clearly trying to be very similar to its competition, but it can't help but fall short. In the many areas where its features are almost carbon copies, they aren't implemented as well and force the player into playing the game in an odd way between bouts of grinding for credits. In the areas where it tries new things, it barely commits to them and leaves them feeling like afterthoughts. If Forza Horizon could also be played on Sony hardware, The Crew Motorfest would have no reason to exist.
-
Sep 22, 2023The Crew: Motorfest is a solid and capable title, but it can easily be labeled as a clone of its competitors, such as those in the Forza franchise. Despite this, it still offers a mature arcade experience with plenty of customization and attention to detail. It has taken a few steps backwards, but all the ones it has taken forwards have been in the right places.
-
Sep 15, 2023Gorgeous and full of varied events, it still isn’t nearly enough to help the The Crew Motorfest stand up to the other top racing dogs thanks to a laundry list of poor decisions, awkward vehicle handling, and a distinct failure to make use of some of the franchise’s strongest attributes.
