Oct 8, 2019Church in the Darkness certainly delivers on some of its unique replayability virtues, but is much of a hit and miss with its inconsistent characterization and clunky gameplay issues.

Sep 18, 2019The Church in the Darkness is a nice narrative idea wrapped in a terribly shoddy gameplay that you will experience, in its entirety, in around 15 minutes. Come for the story, get away,fast, because of the gameplay.

Sep 12, 2019Did I enjoy The Church in the Darkness? I did the first couple playthroughs. By the third, I was starting to feel like I was just going through the motions. I think it's one of those games where if you do a playthrough once every now and then, it can definitely be worth the time. It has a visually appealing art-style that reminds me of a stylistic early 2000's game, and the audio, though it does eventually become repetitive, really does sell the Walkers as convincing cult leaders. It's a fun game, but it's a short ride for individual playthroughs and if you're farming for multiple endings, it's going to show its imperfections really fast.
