The Casting of Frank Stone stands out as an excellent and fitting new addition to the Dead by Daylight universe. Blending familiar narrative elements with new characters, the game gives players the power to make their own decisions in a way that perfectly suits the Fog. This Dead by Daylight adaptation is arguably Supermassive Games' best title yet, and will likely not only become a fan-favorite for DBD fans, but for fans of choose-your-own-adventure narrative titles altogether. It breathes new life into Dead by Daylight, but is also an interesting, well-made, and developed enough story to stand entirely on its own.

Not only is the Casting of Frank Stone a fantastic Dead by Daylight game, it's also a fantastic game in its own right.

The Casting of Frank Stone expands the Dead by Daylight universe, but leaves more questions than answers. With a “safe narrative” and solid gameplay, the horror and narrative game manages to be a valuable addition for fans of the work or the genre.

Though weak in some places, The Casting of Frank Stone is still a good story set in the Dead By Daylight universe and left me excited for the possibility of more games and stories coming out in this setting.

Overall, The Casting Of Frank Stone is thrilling and engaging as a Dead By Daylight player and as a narrative adventure gamer. The gameplay mechanics are simplistic, but that was to be expected with a narrative game such as this. My only gripe is the lack of a ‘skip scene’ feature when replaying certain chapters. If I could skip every scene where Stan is speaking, I would. The Cutting Room feature makes up for a lot of any small annoyances. though. Any missed Trinkets or Relliks can be uncovered later and there are so many more paths to unlock. I look forward to discovering what other horrors await the film crew in The Casting Of Frank Stone.

Although it still lacks a final touch of optimisation, The Casting of Franck Stone is surely one of Supermassive's best on paper, thanks to an unusual construction and interweaving that gives it a new dimension.

Those who have always wanted to know more about how Dead by Daylight’s cast of characters came to be trapped in a never-ending nightmare by The Entity will be wholly pleased to finally have some answers, especially if the DBD-stylised achievements and endless Easter eggs didn’t already have you foaming at the mouth. If you’re a fan of Dead by Daylight or The Dark Pictures Anthology, The Casting of Frank Stone is an absolutely must-play for you. Even then, those unfamiliar with the series’ will still find something to appreciate during this entertaining, albeit fleeting, experience

If you love Supermassive Games’ work, you’ll feel right at home with The Casting of Frank Stone, technical issues aside. For the uninitiated, expect to run around areas finding nick-nacks to read or look at and the occasional binary dialogue choice. Creepy at times, but fascinating throughout, I enjoyed my foray into Frank Stone’s debut. All I gotta do now is play Until Dawn’s remaster.

The Casting of Frank Stone is a huge improvement over the lackadaisical Hooked on You, but if I were to recommend a Supermassive game to a friend, I’d be more likely to suggest House of Ashes. Everyone can agree that murder cults are bad; I’d like to see Behaviour use the Dead by Daylight universe to tell a story with some actual teeth.
