Great game, good use of VR, was hooked by the story and def wanted to see how It ended. Really liked they included a range of movement control schemes, not forcing on players.

Adventure game fans should go check it out.

It's an interesting story/concept but simply too short and lacking features to make it stand out. If you don't mind being immersed in a world which lacks visual variety and can handle the gameplay quirks then it's worth a shot. If you're easily bored or require a bit more substance with your games then this probably won't appeal to you. Expand

It sad to say that VR espected is much higher than what it offers. Sure environment is not bad. Story is not bad. But is a puzzle game with some rooms. Really with VR tech is that all possibilities? Disappointed then. I think posibilites are much higher - high life, deux ex. Just copy one that and you have the success. But a point click no enough.

It promised the elevate VR to a new level: instead, it's further weakened the case for early adoption. [Oct 2006, p.77]

As a videogame equivalent of a 1950s pulp science fiction short story, The Assembly works. But it’s nowhere near as good a morality tale, or a virtual reality experience, as it needs to be in order to truly stand out.

The Assembly is yet another example of mundane game design attempting to hid behind the novelty of VR. The mileage in this strategy is running out. [Oct 2016, p.122]
